OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
Intent: Ysalamiri, but weaker and more disgusting.

Canon: A modified version of a canon Balanoro Force mite - http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Balanoro_Force_mite

GENERAL INFORMATION
Name: Baleech (pl. baleeches)
Designation: Non-sapient. You'll never find a sentient leech outside the Lugubraa or the Senate.
Homeworld: N/A
Language: N/A
Average Lifespan: Maybe three months
Estimated Population: Scattered (smaller groups found in many places around the galaxy). Unexceptional reproductive rate; populations grew from incidental infestations or deliberate area seeding.
Description: It's a leech. As it sucks your blood, your Force connection weakens. That's about all there is to it.

PHYSICAL INFORMATION
Breathes: Aquatic
Average height of adults: 1.5cm
Average length of adults: 10cm
Skin color: Brown, black, blue-gray
Hair color: Please no
Distinctions: Baleeches are small, invertebrate critters that favor mud and still water. They thrive in gutters and sewers, compounding the infection risk of a bite. Baleeches are too dumb to be pack hunters, but if you've got one on you, it's a good bet a half-dozen of his best friends latched on too.
Races: N/A
Strengths:
Can subsist on pretty much anything's blood.
The longer it drinks, the more your Force connection goes numb. If you get a dozen latched on for a minute, or you miss one for ten minutes or so, you'll be pretty much Forceless for an hour or thereabouts. Along the sliding scale, techniques are more difficult to use and attempts to access the Force often fail.
Weaknesses:
Helpless out of a fluid environment.
Intensely squishy.
Thick-skinned or heavily furred species, such as Herglics and Wookiees, are just about immune.
Vulnerable to Force Light, Wall of Light, etc.

CULTURE
Diet: Blood. Force-sensitive blood (Jakobeasts, Sith, Jedi) is especially appetizing.
Communication: Polysyllabic burbles
Technology level: N/A
Religion/Beliefs: N/A
General behavior: Your average baleech tends to blurp around in whatever muck, slime, or still water is available. Should an animal happen through the neighborhood, the local baleeches will fasten their mouthparts to the nearest skin. A basic leechy venom numbs the area and makes blood less prone to clotting, while also starting to dampen the Force. Once satiated, the baleech detaches and settles comfortably into the aforementioned available muck.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Velok made the baleeches to annoy Jedi who visited Dagobah and suchlike places. In later years, they proved equally practical when dealing with Rekali witches on Yavin IV, Silvers on Felucia, unfriendly Sith on Dromund Kaas, and the occasional sage on Takodana.

Insofar as biological alchemy could ever be called straightforward, the baleeches fit the bill. Velok started with two species: a Balanoro Force mite, and a leech. By trial, error, and growing expertise, he mated the Force-dampening venom of the former with the everything-else of the latter. A Force-sensitive neophyte might have accomplished the same with the right HoloNet search string and a CRISPR-Cas9 kit. Said neophyte, though, might not have had the requisite background knowledge, tenacity, ingenuity, will to power, petty nastiness, and general strength of stomach.

For reference, consider this summary of the original Balanoro mites. Compared to them, the baleeches have a far more temporary effect and extremely minimal tracking ability. They also lack the mites’ mental influence.

The Balanoro Force mite is a tiny, winged insect, native to the jungles of Balanor. It has two proboscises and many legs. Resistant to a variety of climate conditions, it prefers warm, wet areas. It does not require food or oxygen if latched onto a victim. It does not travel in swarms -- a quality that has made it difficult to capture en masse. The mite feeds on the Force, a true Forcivore. The mite's preferred prey is not known, though presumably some kind of Force-sensitive non-sentient creature is native to the jungles of Balanor. Such creatures are known to exist elsewhere; jakobeasts, for example. The mite can track a Force apprentice from thirty metres, and a Master from much farther. When latching on, the mite uses two proboscises, one to harvest blood and nutrients like any number of insectoid pests, and the other to harvest Force energy. This draining effect is not believed to be permanent. Once latched onto a victim, the mite makes its victim much more suggestible and agreeable, lacking common sense, almost as if drunk. The victim will also have difficulty calling on the Force. While attached, the mite is helpless. The mite's effects wear off proportional to the victim's Force abilities, a matter of hours -- around three hours for a Force apprentice, significantly longer for a Master.

You left the [2 weaknesses minimum] in. Might wanna remove it for bonus pretty points.

How easy are these to breed?
If they're a product of alchemy, how do they react to Force Light & co.?
Do they have any particular dietary preferences in regards to Dark/Light FUs?
