Balmorran Arms

Corporation Name: Balmorran Arms

Headquarters: Balmorra

Locations: Balmorra

Operations: Droid Manufacturer, Weapons Tech R&D

Rationale: Due to the massive loss of life that the galaxy as a whole during the Gulag plague, there was a panic within the leadership of Balmorran Arms. With their mastery of Droid technology, they were able to craft bodies not unlike the prosthesis Grievous used during the Clone Wars. By translating their memories into a scripted form and installing them into a supercomputer, they were able to prevent themselves from dying to the Plague even as it brought the Core Worlds to their knees and everything nearby began to follow.

As time passed and the need for their goods became further limited, sales plummeted, and everyone who once interacted with them died off, the isolated Balmorrans put themselves into a standby that lasted for several centuries. Their holdings withstood the test of time, but since no one knew their codes or had clearance, the central compound remained dormant until slicers were brought in to attempt gutting the ancient company for their once terror-inspiring arms.

A small contingent of Dark Jedi sought to use the technology in order to strengthen their armies. Once the slicers were able to crack all the way to the central computers, they inadvertently awakened the programs of the original holders. Unfortunately, this also activated the defenses of the facility, and all but the strongest force users were wiped out. At this point, the original owners of Balmorran Arms recognized two several massive problems: it had been over four hundred years since they were part of the Galactic Market. and they knew almost nothing about the current state of the galaxy. Compounded with their digitized state, they realized their folly. They would never be able to integrate with modern society, nor enjoy the profits of their labor.

Because of these things, they came to terms with their near immortality and decided to pass the company and all of its holdings to the Dark Jedi Order. After this, they asked that their circuits be shut down so that they could finally rest in peace.

Several years passed, and the Order fell into calamity. Their infighting destroyed them, but Alkor Centaris retained the holdings on Balmorra in the wake of the destruction. It is a company seeped in a history of death.

Tier: 2

Description: While Balmorra was defunct in the wake of a galactic epidemic, the austere facilities were airtight to prevent infection. Because of this, the naturally occuring metal eating parasites were unable to destrot any of the original prototypes or files, and by and large, their considerable records remained intact. Balmorran Arms controlled the Galaxy's greatest and arguably most feared weapon's factories (outside of the Galactic Empire, which emptied its coffers in pursuit of purely destructive tech on a much more grandiose scale. Balmorran was a bit more modest, but not by much), which still stand in the craggy peaks of Balmorra, a testament to the fortitiude of their engineering.

The Dark Jedi took time and spared no expense in refurbishing the facilities to a state more in keeping with the times, and once Balmorran Arms got back on track, it hired new specialists from across the galaxy. With a wealth of resources and a promising renewed future, they proudly announced their reentry into a now free Galactic Market- a dream of their people since the days of Palpatine. Realized beneath the ingenuity and prosperity of a group more willing and inclined to allow for personal freedoms in exchange for the strength their goods offered, Balmorran was in no hurry at all to be rid of a most profitable business venture.

It was not to last forever.

Deeply saddened by the ultimate end of their benefactors and close friends, Balmorran took some measure of peace in the fact that one of their group remained. Alkor showed vested interest in keeping ties with the Arms dealers, not willing to allow them back into the hands of modern Sith. The company found this agreeable, so they offered Centaris a majority holding of shares in the company and effectively placed their business entirely in his hands.

In exchange, Alkor offered his protection to Balmorran Arms, it's affiliates, and all of their subsequent assets. This symbiotic relationship means one thing for the future: new and powerful weapons that will shift the tides of war.

The historical Balmorran Arms was a juggernaut, and this is a Tier 2, plus this is eight centuries and a couple apocalypses later -- all that to say, you're gonna need 1-2 paragraphs of description. Judging by the most fleshed-out Rationale section I've ever seen, I have zero doubt you'll have trouble with that, lol.
