Private Band-Aid Covers the Bullet Hole

location: Naboo, Skywind Estate

How fucking dare they.

The thought was like poison in her mind, ruining every thought until there was only anger. The click of heels was evidence of her frustration as she approached the estate of one Abel Denko, who had been missing for the past seven damn years and who, along with his brash smuggler padawan-now-turned-girlfriend, was on Naboo in what felt like literally forever, and hadn't even bothered to stop in and say hello to his other padawan. Angry did not even begin to describe her emotional state... but beneath it was the urge to cry with relief. He was alive. By some miracle, some divine intervention, he was alive when she thought he had died in the downfall. She'd thought both of them had died.

Illyria had looked for them; she had spent countless hours and thousands of credits trying to find anything she could about their location, or what had happened to them. Everything led to a dead end. So she spent months mourning Abel, believing he had died, drinking herself into a stupor just to be able to sleep without crying. Abel had been so very very important to her - more than a simple mentor - he had been a friend, someone who saw her for who she was, a person with emotions and desires and not a pawn to be used to climb the ladders of social hierarchy.

And yes, her feelings may have, at times, trayed beyond the lines of what was appropriate for a padawan-master relationship but that wasn't the point. And she had mourned for Luna too. Not to the same extent she'd mourned for Abel but she had cried for Luna too and poured her a drink in remembrance. They had just started to move past their animosity when the galaxy had been turned upside down and inside out; had stopped fighting every minute of every day. They were finally able to have a decent conversation without it seeming like they were out to hurt each other or to prove whose emotional trauma was worse. They'd just started to kinda be... friends?

Except now... after seven years... she'd found out they were alive.

And that they were on Naboo and neither of them had bothered to reach out to her and let her know they weren't dead.

Her fist connected with the door with the surprising force of something her size, the sound echoing loudly on the inside. When the little droid answered she had a moment, a memory, a vivid flashback to when she had first met Luna here. The three of them sitting around, the instant dislike she'd taken toward Luna. How their fighting seemed to both amuse and frustrate Abel. Remembering this only seemed to fuel her heightened emotions.

"Move." Illyria snapped as she shoved past the droid, not waiting for it to inform Abel of her arrival. Instead, she had stomped inside into the foyer. "I know you two are here." She shouted, her voice echoing off the walls as she moved deeper into the estate, heading toward where she assumed they would be - shacked up in the bedroom. "Get the hell out here! Luna! Abel!"

SKYWIND ESTATE, NABOO

Seven Years.

It felt like a lifetime since Abel had set foot on Naboo. In fact, when last he stood upon the homeworld of his extended kin, it was under assault. Flames consumed every building in sight. Literal monstrosities roamed the streets. It was on that fateful day that the Confederacy breathed its final breath. It was on that day that Abel said goodbye to one of his students. The gaping hole left behind by Illyria's supposed demise was one that took years to get over. Though the Knight had fought his best during the attack on Naboo, his best hadn't been enough to save her. He lost her and was unable to find her after. There was no alternative beside assuming the worst.

Abel himself didn't even have a choice in what came next. He gave his all giving Luna Evanstance Luna Evanstance a window to escape, leaving himself prey to the monstrosities. He would have perished, were it not for the timely intervention of his newfound mentor Valeria Valeria de la Vallee. She plucked him from certain death and earned a "free force user battering ram" card whenever she saw fit.

As for Skywind Estate? The home of House Denko? It slowly recovered on its own. Abel kept in light contact with the Estate from the Ascendancy's borders, giving direction and assuming responsibility when needed. It was...too much to step back into the role like before. Doing so was a reminder of his failure. A reminder that he had lost a precious student to the inferno. But now, seven years later, he felt...better. Not whole, but better. Enough that he could at least begin to face the responsibilities of his House.

And so, he and Luna made the voyage to Naboo. So much had changed since that day - specifically how they interacted with each other. Seven years ago, there was light teasing, flirting even. Getting drunk after training or a romp here and there. But now? There was...something more. They didn't operate like the typical couple - what two natives of the slums could? But what was theirs was theirs. Thus, when they first arrived to the Estate, Abel gave Luna's hand a squeeze. They had just begun to tour the restored building when a thunderous knock sounded at the door. The furious tone of a familar voice echoed off the walls. Abel spun on his heel, heart catching in his throat. "No." he breathed.

He thought it was a trick, but the voice grew louder. Closer. Angrier. Abel ran towards it. Get the hell out here! Luna! Abel! It was. It couldn't be. It shouldn't be. But it was. Rounding the corner, Abel almost skidded to a halt before setting his eyes upon her. What was lost was found.

"Illyria."

The Knight broke.

Relief. Remorse. Doubt. Joy. All came crashing down upon Abel's shoulders like thunder. He practically dove towards the woman, attempting to place his hands upon her cheeks. Attempting to verify that she was real. The glare? The perfume? It was all the same. All real. All Illyria. "You're alive." he breathed. "I thought...thought." Abel's lip quivered until he bit down upon it. Eyes shimmered, to the point where he raised his arm to block them from view.

His form shuddered before her.

Almost back to the beginning. Naboo wasn't the young woman's first choice; the fancy lifestyle and nobles had never made her feel truly at home. But home had never been an actual place- There were very few beings in Luna's life that made her life worth living. Abel- not only her best friend and mentor but someone, after many years of reuniting at the beginning of their journey, had stolen her heart; not an easy feat but the man had always seemed to do the impossible.

And then there was Illyria. The young Noble had been nothing more than someone to tease; a fellow student who had made it clear from the beginning that the young ashen-haired woman's persona and humor had grown to be like a sister to her. When Chaos had broken loose and the Galaxy had seemingly fallen apart, it was assumed that the blonde Noble hadn't survived.

But here they were, Abel and Luna, hand in hand as they entered Skywind Estate to hear Illyria's usual firm and demanding tone echoing the halls as they approached. At the squeeze of her slender hand, the young woman looked over to see the raw emotion on his face- the look of a family reuniting after being lost for so long.

Luna herself, stood where she was as he ran to their no longer wayward friend with a wry smirk on her face. She herself hardly indulged in true emotion unless it was in private. She did, after all, have some sort of reputation to still uphold. She couldn't fall apart- not since despite everything her past was still nipping at her heels- looking to break down the doors any day now. "Well, I'll be dammed,"

She finally called out and casually made her way over with her thumbs hooked on her belt after giving them both a moment- her verdant gaze lingered on the other woman noting she looked not a day different from the last time she'd laid eyes on her. "I'm glad to be seein' you, Illy," She reached out, in her usual manner and an attempt to ruffle the unusually short blonde's hair with a grin- shifting the pitted scar on her cheek. "You haven't changed at all."

It was like a moment out of a movie - her heart stood still, as did time and space. Abel's voice was a slap in the face, encouraging the woman to face him so that her vision was filled with the sight of both of them both, real, flesh and blood and not a fantasy of some distant memory. The rush of emotions within her was undeniable, and unbearable, escaping down her cheeks in the form of tears. At first, falling silently from her forest green eyes and then came in all-consuming waves.

"Abel..." Illyria's voice quivered as she whispered his name, sobs shaking her body when he held her face in his hands, touching her to make sure that she was real, the same way her hands grabbed his shoulders to feel him and know he wasn't some cruel illusion; the same way her fingers tightened as though she could hold him and prevent him from disappearing again. She held him as though life itself depended on it.

Even when Luna had sauntered over in her typical swagger, her mouth twisted into a wry and teasing smirk, Illyria had been overjoyed. There has been no hesitation in dragging the taller woman down to her height once she and Abel had separated.

None. Whatsoever.

Illyria clung to Luna just as she had done so to Abel, crying against her shoulder out of pure happiness. She hadn't even been angry when Luna ruffled her hair - which normally she despised. It was unusual for Illyria to be so emotional and so cavalier in her display of them.

She was, despite spending years coming out of her shell beneath the guidance of Abel and Luna, robotic in a sense. She had grown up taught to be careful about what she said and who might overhear. And because of it Illy still had trouble expressing her emotions.

But the way she proceeded to pull them both into a bone-breaking hug was enough to show how happy she was to see them, how relieved she was that they were both alive and well and back.

"I thought... I thought I'd lost you both.[color]"
