Bane of my existence

Taris… A planet that Nikias had never seen before, and ever since he had stepped off the transport shuttle he’d been completely shocked by the Ecumenopolis Nikias didn’t know what to do with himself. He’d never truly seen a planet that was completely covered in cities. He’d even heard there were multiple layers which he hoped to explore during his time on the planet. Taris was wrought with life and the sun was high in the air bathing the city in its radiant beams. Feeling the warmth on his body Nikias felt reenergized and ready to explore taris. For once he wasn’t going anywhere on jedi business and this time it was for the pleasure of learning more about the planet. He’d heard many things about ecumenopolis planets, and thought them to be a curiosity as his planet nor any of the others he’d been to sported such a look.

In the spaceport hundreds if not thousands of beings milled about either just arriving on the planet as Nikias had, or leaving to go take care of their own business. So many species in one place at one time almost turned Nikias to a child in a zoo as he looked in astonishment. If hora could be transformed into such a place their wealth would be even greater than it already was. Regaining his regal mannerisms Nikias stood to his full height and followed the crowd as they were funneled the rest of the way out of the open top spaceport allowing Nikias a view of the buildings that seemed to penetrate the clouds. Amazing Nikias thought in awe. The skyscrapers stretched for miles, as long as the eye could see.

Pulling out his datapad and looking up information on the planet Nikias continued down the sidewalk among a throng of individuals easily standing out due to his shock white hair, and his bare upper body. Surprisingly he got very few glances, he probably wasn’t the strangest person that the citizens had ever seen.

Taris.

People. So many People. Everywhere, their thoughts pushing in, crushing together in her mind. Too many, too much. The Assassin screamed, slamming her fist into the wall, causing the ceramic panels on it to crack, blood slowly dripping down her hand onto the floor from where the ceramic panels had cut into her flesh. She gasped in ragged breaths, trying to focus herself. Too Much. Even the corpses of the three men that had found her, and wound up laying in various pieces behind her in the bathroom did little to help her, although it made things very slightly more Managable.

Slowly she stood up, bracing herself against the wall as she stumbled out of the bathroom. Closing her eyes she decided that drastic times called for Drastic measures. Trying to focus the force in a place like this was hellish, but she managed it, using on Odojinya on herself, she temporarily severed her own connection to the force. As long as the spell held it's effect her strength would slowly drain, she only hoped she could kill the heir before she collapsed. Slowly she stood upright as the voices ceased, and she could breathe again normally

Deciding it best to drop off his luggage at the hotel he would be staying at Nikias entered the large building, for one he was still a prince and had quite a disposable amount of income at his hands to use whenever he wanted. Even when in exile Nikias need not worry for too many things. While he was humble, Nikias still wouldn't take a worn down hotel room. The building was top notch and obviously reserved for the well off or rich. Employees milled about going on with their tasks while Nikias was admitted and had his luggage carried up to his room, not yet wanting to give up on exploring the city Nikias walked back out into the streets of Taris making his way to what he thought was going to be the marketplace. It was best to take note of what type of things that the planet often sold, coming from a planet that prided itself on food, and its ships Nikias was curious to see what type of things Taris specialized in.

Stalls lined the streets with good out for all to see. There were fruit vendors pawning their goods, and others selling jewelry to weaponry. To be so open in their dealings. Nikias thought as he approached the fruit vendor first examining the Honey Melons that the vendor had imported. "I'll take two." Nikias said picking up two of the fruits and munching on them tasting the sweet flavor as it danced upon his pallet. On his hip hung his lightsaber and upon seeing it many avoided him. Nikias had always carried a lightsaber, long before he even joined the Silver Sanctum it was as much a part of him as anything could be. Looking down at the datapad as he took a large bite from the fruit Nikias moved on through the city completely unaware of any going ons.

Power lay in the heart of the Sith. Their power, their philosophy, the very foundation of their culture took treason to its' stone heart. If you were strong enough to justify it, then you could fell the Dark Lord himself and assume his place. Only by strength would the Galaxy be governed. However, in the wake of this, the strong would yield weak pretenders.

Safiriel, The Blade's Shadow, was hunting down another target. In the wake of the war, the trail had grown cold. However, she had received a lead on the a Certain Jedi Master's supposed apprentice. Somehow, the two had become separated. Some proposed that the apprentice had run away.

The apprentice proved far easier to track, and she traced one [member="Nikias"] to the planet of Taris, where she began to stalk him, learning his daily rituals. Information, even if it seemed trivial now, could be invaluable later

[member="Nikias"]

Munching on the last bite of his fruit, Nikias discarded the cores before continuing to walk through the city scrolling through his datapad. While there was history on the planet it was entirely broken and hard to keep track of. While it was common knowledge that alot of information had been lost over time it was still shocking to see, though it did note how at one point Taris had been nearly completely destroyed. Who would destroy a city such as this? Nikias thought looking at the passerbys, maybe it was due to his nature as a prince but Nikias saw sentient life as being of great value and that it shouldn't be taken unless absolutely necessary. IT sickened him to the core to think of people who would needlessly take the lives of those that had done nothing to harm them.

People with power would destroy this world! If they cannot obey what use are they! The voice Nikias had named Trellos chimed in from within as it crawled its way to the surface of Nik's conscious. It was almost like having a heavy metal screeching sound in one’s ears whenever the voice decided to invade Nikias' mind. You've already seen true power for what it is! Have you forgotten the Sith woman who had buried you under a mountain of rubble? Trellos said trying to bring the Hellyni back to his side. Embrace me and we can have such power.

"No." Nikias growled aloud not even realizing he had done it. Ensuring none had seen or heard he began walking again. Ever since his defeat at the hands of Sabine the voice in Nikias' mind was becoming wilder, begun appearing more often trying to tempt him. Each time more tempting than the last. It was becoming something akin to torture for Nikias as he struggled to fight off not only the voice but his nature as a warrior and general mixing it with the mentalities of a jedi.

Was he mad? He seemed to be having an intense coversation with himself, shaking his head, growling to himself, all quite strange. The Blade's shadow Considered the man once again. There was little pattern to his movements, too free for her liking. Even with her connection severed, Safiriel felt uncomfortable, too many people were around her, pushing, wanting, lying and denying their true natures. Sickening.

One Day, One Day she would show them, all of them, what true power was, and what true freedom was. But that day was not today, and was still a long way off. The Sith was slowly refusing her humanity, numbing herself to the horrors she inflicted on an almost daily occasssion, and she liked it. Slowly she had grown from hesitation and distate, to cold and dispassionate hatred, to a silent seething fury

@Nikias

[member="Safiriel Bane"]

You cannot deny your true nature. Remember I know the true you. No matter whether you hide among those mystics and deny your nature I will always remain to remind you of your true nature... White demon. Trellos said within Nikias' mind with a taunting laugh. Right hand twitching Nikias curled it into a tight fist before having to release it. He remembered the name White Demon well enough, the members of the Attikan used it to describe Nikias and his tactics in war. He had willingly thrown the lives of those under his command away to accomplish his goals. Nikias remembered being given the forces that were filled with thieves, murderers and rapists and was tasked to lead them against the Attikan's. The biggest disgrace one could suffer in the Makrosian military as it was basically a suicide force. One wasn't expected to return from the assignment, yet through Nikias' tactics and natural tactical inclination he'd succeeded.

"I did what I had to. They were scum and deserved their deaths." Nikias growled moving away from the main portion of the crowd and into a construction district where the streets were far less crowded. The sound of construction droids and machines whirred high above as they worked on building new buildings. Ensuring there weren't any sentients in the area Nikias began the breathing exercises that he'd been taught after joining the jedi. The only way he'd learned to cope with the voice. Slowly Nikias centered himself in his place making sure Trellos knew was the one truly in control. "This is my body, and even if it takes every fiber of my being I will not accept you. I know the sins of my past and I accept them." To taken with his own thoughts nikias had no clue that he was being followed by anyone and continued deeper into the construction district to get himself under control.

He was practically serving himself up on a silver platter. The assassin smiled to herself as she followed the lone figure deeper into the world, far from the bustling center of the space port. Two of her claws lightly dragged along a wall as she followed the man, creating a shower of sparks beside her, before her hand returend to her side, wrapping around the hilt of one of her sabers.

She had a wide selection avaidable, Eight models of standars sabers and one double bladed saber that had served as her primary saber for many years, before she had exchanged it for the flexibility and stability the more standard models provided. Do to her rapid switching between forms in combat however she preferred to keep a variety of different models now to aid in this. It was one of her few pleasues in life, claiming the weapons of her opponents

Getting his mind together Nikias bashed down the voice in his mind by slowly pushing the dark thoughts away. The thoughts of how fifteen hundred of his own soldiers had been killed by himself. Of how Nikias had nearly completely destroyed a city just to keep them from supplying his enemies with Foodstuffs. While one could claim it was war and that such things happen Nikias couldn't sit well with himself knowing he'd done such a thing. The jedi probably would judge him harshly if he went to talk to any of them about the problems that were plaguing him, if not kick him completely out of the Silver Sanctum. Sighing Nikias' ears perked up as even with the sounds of machines and construction droids going about their business he heard the sound of metal on metal, it was a very distinct sound that one never forgot.

Spinning on his heels to see where it was coming from Nikias turned to see a woman with hair of the same color as his own but it was far longer. Seeing her tuck her hand down and touching a lightsaber Nikias eyed the woman filling a tingling at the back of his neck. Nikias had recognized the tingling as the force giving him a warning of danger and very rarely had it been wrong, and the closer the woman drew to him the more intense it got till it became a chill that retreated down his spine causing the hairs on his arm to rise up. The pale white skin of the woman reminded Nikias of snow, and he felt off while looking at her. Not many would be in a district under construction, and Nikias himself wouldn't have really been there if he didn't have to be. "You have a problem Madam?" Nikias asked his own hand laying on the hilt of his lightsaber ready to be activated if need be. "Don't do what you're thinking. Its not worth it." Nikias had fought Sith many times before but whenever one willingly reached for their lightsaber in such a way they became a threat.

Jeid, So Foolish, So blind, So Arrogant." You gaze at the force like at a mountain, Jedi, you see its snow-capped peak and the clouds upon its slopes. You dream of reaching that pinnacle and drinking the cold waters. But who dreams of the road that ascends the mountain side? The road to the peak is hard and murderous. It has broken countless pathetic Jedi upon its rocks. Their splintered bones lie scattered upon it, paving the way to the mountain top. At every step you will hear the bones crumbling under foot, and maybe you shall hear the wind-blown voices of the dead - guiding you forward or leading you to your doom. Yes, the way to the mountain is cruel and unforgiving. And of those who struggle their long lives, spending their energy and vigour in the climb, who then can taste the melt-water of the summit and say, 'Yes... yes it was worthwhile?' "

"And what are the achievements of your fragile Order It is a corpse rotting slowly from within while maggots writhe in its belly. It was built with the toil of heroes and giants, and now it is inhabited by frightened weaklings to whom the glories of those times are half-forgotten legends. Your Temples will burn, your streets run with blood, your false idols shattered, your people slaughtered by the thousands, your very planets torn apart… and the barest fraction of my hatred will be satisfied."

Stopping his hand short Nikias looked at the woman feeling the weight of her words and the more she went on the more Nikias realized that there was more wrong with her than being a regular Sith. The way she spoke felt as if her grudge against the jedi was more than against just against jedi. It felt almost as if she had a grudge against the entire galaxy. Putting a few more steps between them Nikias kept his eyes on her but they weren't of hatred, it was of pity. Even he who had spent a year being tortured did not hate the beings of the galaxy in such a way. Hated the ones who did it to him, but never the random strangers. Nikias didn't even bare a true hate for the Sith except for those that committed atrocities against life and slowly the Sith was painting herself as such.

"If thats the way you truly think you'll never truly understand the force." Nikias said not knowing where he was truly going with his speech as he didn't have the best connection with it to be a jedi, but he had learned a lot in his time even if he didn't completely accept the code. "What you say may be true in your own eyes, but the easy path is not always the best one. So what if you get the easy path up that mountain and are able to take a drink from that water? Its not the same, you didn't truly work to understand anything on your way up, all you see is what you wanted to on your path. You don't understand the struggle of that climb." Using her own metaphors against her Nikias began to move off to the woman's right.

"The jedi are much stronger then you can even imagine, even if broken into multiple temples across the galaxy we can still come together to meet a common threat, unlike you Sith. Your constant scheming, lying. You'd be willing to stab your own Master in the back if you saw the chance. That's what makes you weak, and you will never be able to accomplish your goal as I will not allow it."

[member="Safiriel Bane"]

[member="Nikias"]

"Truly, are we so weak? Was it not a single Sith that brought the entire galaxy crumbling to its knees, crushing your order in the process? Now imagine there were a dozen, now a hundread. Do you truly believe you have a chance?" She asked, striding toward the man, two blades of crimson extending behind her as the sabers in her hands ignited, and she moved to cut off his only avenue of retreat

Nikias honestly had no clue about what the woman had been talking about as he'd never heard of one Sith bringing the entire order to its knees. The thought of it alone shook him to the core. For one person to be able to do that was horrifying, especially considering the quality and power he'd seen of the jedi in the Silver Sanctum. Even the thought of them all being brought to their knees was unfathomable. "Even with your numbers you haven't done it yet? So what makes you can still do it? If the power and force was on your side it would've already happened. Do not do this!" Nikias warned the woman as her two sabers activated it. Nikias knew the crimson color well, and even now as he saw it his stomach tightened. It reminded him of blood every time he saw a Sith utilize one of the weapons. He'd never seen a jedi use one of that color and he probably would've been more accepting of it if they did.

She's blocking me in. Nik thought but he didn't move to make an escape. He wanted the Sith right there with him, away from the general populace of people. Sighing Nikias knew that she wouldn't let him pass and that she was devoted to entering battle. "I am sorry that you forced me to do this." Reaching down he unclipped his saber from his belt and began approaching the woman cautiously. "This doesn't have to go to violence, just take this time to turn away and don't look back." Entering a mid-guard Nikias watched the woman cautiously hoping she'd take the easy route. His blade cast a violet glow around him and reflected off his golden eyes.

[member="Safiriel Bane"]

She shook her head.

"Do you truly believe life is that easy? 'Just walk way' That is not life, young one. You chose the Jedi, I chose the Sith. You chose to resist, rather than to submit. You chose to wake up in the morning, rather than die in your sleep. It is your choices that have brought you here, to fight me, do not act as if it is a simple mistake that we find ourselves here"

"Delude yourself if you must, you Jedi are known for such things" She said, trying to goad the man into anger. If she could get him to strike first, it would only hasten his departure to the dark side "Or are you afraid? Fearful of fighting? Or Perhaps of learning of the pleasure of a kill?"

The Blade's Shadow taunted the man with the sliver of a smile, her blades dancing around her in gracefully lethal archs

"Life is never easy. We all can't know what our decisions can do to others. The option to kill one person can ruin the lives of thousands. Or sparing that person can one day end up costing millions of lives. All we can do as sentients is what is best for our kind. You didn't have to become a Sith. You don't have to fight me. You chose to do so, and to not turn and walk away... I don't see why you all can't just understand that some of us just want peace." Nikias said looking down at the ground then taking a few purposeful strides forward. Him and the woman were near the same height, and his long legs made closing the distance easy. But soon the stride turned into a full on sprint as Nikias gave in to the circumstances. The Sith didn't plan on letting him by without a fight, she even wanted to take his life. So he'd have to fight for it and would do whatever it took to ensure he survived.

As he rushed the woman, Nikias reached out to her with his left hand aiming a grip for one of her multiple lightsabers that she carried. Bringing so many onto the battlefield did nothing to Nikias, it didn't strike fear in him or deter his actions. Instead it pushed him on to fight harder.Though soon realizing that they were not responding to his own grip, Nikias growled. She had obviously prepared for such eventualities which would make the combat just that much harder. even so they were in the middle of a district still under construction with plenty of objects for nikias to use as weapons. reaching out nikias would reach for one of the construction droids simply doing their job. an invisible force would wrap itself around the droid and with a "Oh my." it found itself being flung through the air at the Sith. using the droid as only a distraction nikias would close the gap with a wide slash aimed for the Sith's waist before with a flick of his wrist turning it into a stab aimed for her core.

[member="Safiriel Bane"]

"Such...Unrefined Style" The Assassin commented Sliding forward under the thrown droid, and the swiftly approaching saber "Embracing Life, Means accepting death" But she did not stop there, twirling forward, she spun over on her hands, bringing her legs up in a kick, straight at the man's head. "Tomorrow is a hope, not a promise. None can hide from death, though many have tried. All things linger in the shadow of Death, and I am it's bringer"

Using the same motion and force after the kick she spun herself around, bringing herself to her feet in front of the man "Tell me, what do all stories have in common?"

[member="Nikias"]

While the woman called Nikias' style unrefined she obviously didn't take not of how he carried himself and just how sturdy of a person he was. Using a lightsaber with one hand would usually be detrimental to most people as they'd have to make up the strength for it. Nikias on the other hand was from a race of warriors where they were constantly in battle since their teenage years. His body was heavily muscled and easily compensated for the lesser strength weakness with physical training and prowess. So as the Sith committed herself to the kick, Nikias simply raised his left arm letting her blow land on the gauntlet of his left arm.

Crouching slightly at his knees to support his own weight and that of the Sith as she completed her kick and landed on the other side of him Nikias shook the limb, It was far from easy having to bear the weight of a full grown woman without the power of the force to support him. unlike other jedi and sith he was always lacking in those aspects of the force. thankfully it didn't show to often due to him usually preferring to be on the defense. "What they all have in common is a loser." Nikias said as he reached out with his left arm seizing the droid that had hit the wall of a building and now sported a large dent in its chrome dome of a head. Pulling on it Nikias guided the droid to him and bringing his saber down into a slash he bisected it letting it continue past him. with a pivot he turned now guiding the two halves of the droid at the sith.

[member="Safiriel Bane"]

"I would have said an End but, Close enough" She smirked. The droid throwing was getting quite annoying she decided, as she ducked and dived away, only to roll back up onto her feet. Something had to be done about it, or he might actually get her when she wasn't looking. "Going to throw toys at me all day? Or fight?" She asked, her eyes narrowing. Had she the force on her side, this whelp would have been crushed long ago. Simply another test then, no matter the difficulty.

Safiriel stalked toward the man now, her heels clicking against the durasteel platform below her. Adrenaline Amplifiers, Alacrity Implants and deep core systems triggered throughout her. Even without the force, Safiriel was far from harmless. Time slowed to a near crawls as her cybernetic implants fired, giving her far more time to react to her opponent's moves

[member="Nikias"]

"I wouldn't call it throwing toys... I'd call it just me playing to my strengths as this is fighting in my eyes." Nikias said sizing the Sith up. While she spent her time dodging Nikias spent his own time standing back and able to take in her movements and how she dodged them. She spent her time dodging them than dealing with them head on in the force. That spoke magnitudes on the current situation to Nikias and he planned to use the acquired information to his advantage. He'd been able to face a Sith Lord with his skills in telekinesis and while he had been defeated Nikias had been able to crack her collarbone. He specialized in Telekinesis pouring his all into it, and unlike others looked at what could be done with it on a grander and scale than simple grips, pushes and throws. Thanks to his training beneath Xander, Nikias had even learned how to split his attention between multiple telekinetic objects almost letting it become a reflex.

Hearing the sharp clack of the Sith's shoes Nikias tilted his head to the left and brought his left arm back to his waist, while in his right hand his saber was still held but the index, middle, and thumb moved making a claw formation. The Sith was moving incredibly fast, faster than Nikias would've been able to do on his own. She'd easily have the advantage in close quarters combat, though Nikias still had plenty of aces up his sleeve. The droid sped back to the Sith from behind but at the same time the Nikias right hand was directed in a grip aimed for the Sith's heels to where if it connected he'd touch the fingers together to snap them. The woman had dodged the droid plenty of times and Nikais was counting on it again as this time he wasn't focused on the body of the droid but the wires inside of it. Expanding his left hand and contorting it into a claw with his fingers moving Nikias would control the wire of the droid’s innards tearing them and and aiming to bind the Sith in them. Nikias was a tactician before a warrior, and a warrior before a jedi. Fighting head to head against an opponent that could outclass him in close quarters would not be his best tactical moment.

Safiriel had faced Mantic Dorn and won, who was this whelp to think he could even stand against her? Fury blazed inside Safiriel, her patience was at an end. As the droid came flying at her, she reacted. Moving faster than should have been biologically possible, she sliced the droid in half, letting it fly by her. Severing herself from the force? A novelty, it was time to show this whelp his end.

" What is it to be a Sith?-It is to be death! What is it to be death?-It is to be the destroyer, the end of all things. What is it to end life?-It is an honour, to be the executioners of the Emperor.Why do we fight? -To protect the Imperium from the false teaching of the Jedi- What is the Jedi?-A blight to be purged! What is the Jedi? -A cancer to be excised!
What is the Jedi? -A shame to be expunged! What is the saber, the force?-The incarnation of destruction, by which we bring about the death of the Emperor's foes!"

Murrmurring this to herself, Safiriel broke the bonds of her Odojinya, feeling the force flow through her once again. The Jedi before her would immediately be able to sense the surge of dark energies before him, and the lethal intent behind them.

And then her heels snapped. Her gorgeous, 27000 Credit heels. Kicking off what remained of them the Jedi would now be able to live long enough to realize just what a mistake it had been to break the girl's heels

"Big Big BIG Mistake"
