SPECIAL FEATURES
Strengths:
  • Can be dropped from orbit safely.
  • Fits a variety of vehicles and supplies, suitable for supporting a colony world.
  • Miniature spaceport with all essential services.
  • Very heavily protected for a repulsorlift vehicle, comparable with a small starport.
Weaknesses:
  • Extremely slow for a repulsorlift vehicle. Repulsor arrays optimized for surviving orbital drops and repositioning on the surface.
  • Extremely low maneuverability for a repulsorlift vehicle.
  • Minimal armament on ventral side, creating vulnerability during orbital drop.
  • Cannot stay aloft indefinitely; needs to land and settle on solid, level ground.
Description: The Outer Rim and Wild Space are full of colonization efforts, smuggler boltholes, tiny shadowports, relay stations, and other surface facilities that could really use a starport. Starports, however, are large and complex affairs that require significant time to set up properly. The Bannerhead fits this niche by serving as a portable, self-contained, miniature spaceport. Its main landing pad can hold a full-sized light freighter; extendable secondary pads and small bays can fit individual vehicles. It's important to note that these services are meant for incidental use by random colony-related vehicles. You'll never see a Bannerhead throwing out formations of combat-ready airspeeders; the cramped and spread-out landing bays are too small and poorly coordinated for that kind of use. A Bannerhead would have only limited combat utility, either by holding a critical location by virtue of bulk and durability, or by providing a safe rear-echelon spot for refueling, rearming, and emergency repairs.

Though designed to support colony worlds, the Bannerhead has become popular with ORC-affiliated independent shippers and explorers. It's a fantastic choice for a private niche on an uncharted world, or a base of operations in the Unknown Regions. Solid fuel/ration converters can turn any biomass into basic food and power, enough to keep a Bannerhead running indefinitely in a limited capacity.

It's almost creepy how similar this is to the GA sub, though the intended usage is very different.

Only thing I've got is that the armament doesn't read as 'High' to me, more like 'Average' or 'Low.'

That mobile air command thing? Just saw it. Funky.

As for the rating, I went with High because I was trying to shoehorn this thing into 'repulsorlift vehicle,' and I figured some quad lasers and serious autoturrets probably fell at the high end for a landspeeder. Your call.
