Weight - While the weapon can be used as a man-portable infantry support weapon it is mainly used as a vehicle ot ship mounted weapon system. As a tripod mounted system it requires a 3 man crew to carry the entire system.

Description: The BAR-1 is the first in the BAR line of heavy support cannons. BAR stands for Ballistic Anti-matter Round. The weapon is built around a quad coil Guass rifle. The weapon has four independent coils which act as liner motor to hyper accelerate the round as they move through the bore of the weapon. As the projectile passes through each coil the magnetic energ y further accelerates the projectile to a speed of four kilometers per second as it is ejected from the fourth coil.

The BAR-1 utilizes tiny one millimeter rounds which house an anti-matter ball contained in a plasma field. The housing of the round is made of osmium, which density gives the round the penetration needed for engaging and piercing armor and starship plating. once the hyper-accelerate round strikes its target it uses its momentum and the hight density of the depleted Baradium to penetrate the target punching through its target then releasing the contained anti-matter charge. Once triggered by the impact the Anti-matter containment is breached and overpowered, releasing the anti-matter which reacts upon contact with matter causing an explosive reaction.The high rate of fire, in concert with the concentrated kinetic energy dispersed into such a small point of impact and the small amount of contained anti-matter, make the BAR a formidable weapon system that packs a punch. Each bolts small explosive charge has a quarter the damage potential of a standard lasr cannon but with the rapid rate of fire can put eight rounds into a target in the same time a standard energy based weapon can put one bolt into the same target.
