- Close and Personal. A semi-automatic shotgun with optional manual chambering. Short-range, offering twenty shots till a reload.
- Stopping power. Mullinine shrapnel shards at lethal velocity and kickback.
- Fire modes. Flicking a side switch. The gun can be set to spread or focused fire, offering potentially wounding hits over a small area instead of killing shots on a single target. A second switch sets it to manual chambering, allowing one shot then a manual pump before the next.
- Comfort. Sullust Leather strap for shoulder or back, the lighter weight makes this handy as a backup weapon.
- Neat and Simple. There are a couple of fire modes but overall this weapon is easy to operate and easy to use by a rookie or professional.
- Slice and Save. Not up to a rifle with AP rounds, or a high caliber sniper rifle, the armor penetration on the weapon is still reasonable, as the slugs come in shards rather than pellets. The ammo is also reasonably easy to come by, and a cost-saving to those on a budget who might be out hunting their dinner for example.
- Get off my lawn. Very High stopping power with Mullinine Shards. This packs a very high kickback with reasonable armor penetration.
- Fire For Effect. Multiple fire modes. Wounding over an area or killing in a focused shot. An optional manual chambering mode is also included, allowing for an easily controlled fire rate.
- Backup Gun. Light and easy to carry. Neat and simple in a pinch.
- Hold on Tight. A high recoil and low rate of fire mean you have to steady your aim after each shot.
- Door Kickers. Its a hell of a slugthrower, but its a personal ranged weapon, good for close encounters only.
- Iron Sighted. Basic manual 'iron sights' only, they are made of Trimantium still.
The Baratta is one solid slug throwing shotgun. Semi-automatic, packing a mean punch, it won't let you down and can be set to wound with a spread or kill with a focused burst. The Mullinine shards rip through unarmored targets like butter, so wounding instead of killing is optimistic if your target is too close.
Two barrels, one on top of the other. The weapon is long and black with a comfortable leather handle and under-barrel reloading, having simple iron sights for aiming. Firing shards, not pellets, this weapon punctures armor reasonably effectively for a shotgun, as a bonus, the ammo is quite cheap to come by, so carrying an excess amount isn't all that difficult. The shotgun is a good choice for hunters going after big game that want to save money but can still justify hitting their larger prey with a shotgun blast.
Sere Reene loves this gun. She frequently walks around with this gun. Sleeps with one of these under the bed. Showing it off openly, and often demonstrating it to passing thieves who come to her front door. In fact, there is rarely a time she's more than five feet from it.
That said, this gun isn't for everyone. Not everyone loves blowing small holes in trespassers at 2am in your pajamas while going for a midnight snack. Some people get no pleasure at all yelling get off my lawn at strangers. However many people do enjoy that aspect of their working day or appreciate hunting their own lunch, and so this is the gun for them.
