- [Strength] In Numbers- You will rarely happen upon just one Bareesh retainer. Wherever one is, ten more are usually right around the next corner.
- [Strength] Loyal - Ten thousand years of tradition are not overturned in a few fortnights. The Nikto and Vodran retainers to Bareesh are fulfilling the same roles their ancestors have for generations. By and large, they enjoy their position as the slave soldiers of the Hutts and think that it benefits their species. Trying to convince them otherwise will end in sour words, or the execution of a heretic.
- [Weakness] Blind Loyalty - Most of the retainers are not all that bright and are easily susceptible to mind tricks.
- [Weakness] Cold Weather - Vodrans and Niktos are reptilian species and, save for a single offshoot of the Nikto, they fare poorly in cold weather. The consequences of this are low morale, increased laxity, and poorer combat efficiency. The inverse is that the retainers thrive in warmer climates, though this varies with the various Nikto offshoots.
The slave soldiers of Bareesh are plentiful. While the Nikto retainers are drawn from families who have served the kajidic for millennia, the Vodrans are all drawn from a Vodran kajidic - the Nnakma kajidic. These soldiers serve the Bareesh kajidic with unswerving loyalty. Thousands of years of enslavement has led them to revere the Hutts almost as divinities in the flesh. Dying in the service of a Hutt, particularly in the defense of the kajidii, is seen as a great privilege that brings much honor to the families of the deceased.
Typically, the Bareesh Retainers can be seen en masse protecting palaces and other holdings of the Bareesh Kajidic. They are also employed frequently as bodyguards due to their willingness to jump in front of a blaster bolt to protect their principal.
Gorba cares little for their lives and will frequently utilize them as cannon fodder while more capable troops eliminate a threat. That is not to say, however, that the Bareesh Retainers are entirely incompetent. They are entirely capable of getting the job done, so long as the job is not too complicated.
