SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Poisonous: The Edge of this blade was augmented with Devaronian Blood Poison, making the weapon extremely deadly. Even a touch from the blade's poisonous edge is enough for the victim to feel an extraordinary amount of pain. If the blade manages to break the skin and insert the poisonous particles into the blood stream the user will maintain that pain until the wound is healed.
STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES
Strengths:
  • Lightsaber Resistant: The Cortosis used to create this blade gives the weapon the ability to go toe to toe with a lightsaber in prolonged combat, as it is capable of deactivating lightsaber blades on contact.
  • Light: Because of the Cortosis used to forge the blade, it is exceptionally light and easy to handle.
  • Deadly: Even a single cut from this blade throws the victim into unbearable pain, several cuts or a fatal blow would surely bring the target close to death's door.
Weaknesses:
  • For the Fencer: This blade was made for a Fencer, or Makashi user. Therefore it is useless for any other sword-play styles, forcing the user to stick to the art of fencing in battle.
  • Thin-blade: Though the blade is made of a moderately strong metal, and is resistant to lightsabers, since it is not made from a stronger metal the thin blade makes the possibility of this weapon breaking increase when going up against vibroblades or very large melee weapons, using the blade to defend against a heavier blade or to parry said blade could easily end in the swords destruction. The weapon is also not made to be used in a slashing/cutting manner, because of the extremely low weight held behind the blade, the most one could hope for with a slash would be against an unarmored opponent, and even then it is likely not to have much effect.
  • Expensive: The materials used to create this weapon makes it one of a kind, therefore if it shatters it would be extremely expensive to repair, to the point where it would be more practical to simply have a new blade forged.
  • Self-harm: The poison on this blade knows no allegiance, it is just as dangerous to the user as it is to the enemy. Therefore one touch could send it's owner into a state of horrid pain.
DESCRIPTION
Since the beginning of it's time, House Malvern has hosted an exquisite blade to be held by the Lord of the House. Usually a Rapier, adopted or created by each new Count, it was seen as a symbol of the House's might and the Lord's strength. However, during the Sith invasion of his home planet, Adron's sword that he used during his time as Lord, was destroyed.

Having little attachment to the weapon it did not bother the Count. Though, there was still the tradition of his House to be considered. After receiving Asylum from the Galactic Empire and enlisting into the Officer's corp Adron was once again given the resources to rebuild his House.

Using the resources of the Empire he sought to forge a new blade, one to symbolize the reforging of House Malvern within the Empire.

For this he created a weapon as deadly as it was elegant. Naming it Baron, to give it a name worthy of it's standing, Adron had the sleek weapon created to serve him in combat as well as ceremony. With a brilliant silver blade and a gothic pommel it matched the attire and aesthetics of House Malvern well, and with the poison-augmented edge it served to be just as deadly.

  • 1 kg is actually normal for a rapier made from steel, so drop this to 0.5 kg to reflect the material used.

  • You're off to a good start with this Weakness, but the thin blade of a rapier would carry a few other downsides as well. Parrying or blocking heavier blades/weapons would also be (nearly) impossible because of the nature of a rapier. It'll either be smacked out of your hand because the light rapier can't absorb the force of the heavier blade OR get shattered OR get swatted out of the way.
  • It's also not a blade made for slashing / cuts, as its lack of weight in the blade imparts very little force to such type of attack. Shallow push cuts are the best you'll get with this. Rapiers were made almost exclusively for thrusting.
  • Please reflect the above points under that Weakness in some form.
