- Highly effective: Unlike most carriers, this vessel has the advantage of being versatile both in its speed and maneuvrability, but also in the way it deploys its payload, as it had a healthy mix of starfighters, but also has integrated bays for control units and large numbers of drones in addition to its standard hangar bay layout.
- Breacher: As most of the modern N&Z ships, this vessel sports angular plating and a reinforced prow, allowing for ramming and thus breaching enemy fortifications and formations.
- Exposed Bridge: Even on a near fully automated ship as this one, the exposed bridge may at times cripple the ship's operations if it were to be hit.
- High Automation: Just like it can be an advantage to need less personel aboard a ship, in times of crisis, this can become a problem. For when the ship's AI is compromised, if the onboard crew would be the regular skeleton crew they'd be unable to properly manage or operate the ship until the AI is repaired or rebooted, the optimal crew with the AI active would have serious difficulty to operate the ship and it would be impossible to reach peak performance without the AI active and in control.
The Barragan was the first ship design commissioned by the N&Z board of directors to have the integration of specialized hangar bays to carry the Control unit droids or ZMDIII QB military grade models and the subsequent subservient drones in order to create a carrier that could not just deploy starfighters, but also the aforementioned control unites and their drones. The design that the engineers have come up with, incorporates the usually known Tiber-I platform as the ship's superstructure, with a few alterations in terms of utilization of the installed programs.
For instance, the load out has been strengthened with several systems and suites from the First Astral Engineering company, combined with a whole heap of material improvements by the HPI consortium, add to that the use of the Athena AI in it's lower cost form and the incredible defensive loadout, and it is no wonder that the engineers put their stake on this design. However, that is but the beginning of what has been put into this ship, as it is also the first N&Z design to incorporate both the SLAB and the AIMS systems in conjunction with the company's new CHARM reactor module, making this one of the potentially fastest and most maneuvrable vessels in its class thanks to the installed systems and electrical load outs.
