- Species: Polar Mon Calamari
- Appearance: Bashir is a young Mon Cal whose features have been aged and worn prematurely due to all the combat he has already seen. Often found in a Defense Fleet uniform, since the battle for the Ison Corridor where he suffered a shrapnel wound to the left eye, he now wears an eye patch while he waits on the development of a custom prosthesis built to the exacting specifications of Mon Calamari anatomy.

- Wealth: Although not trust fund level super rich, Bashir comes from an affluent family still involved in the shipyards on Dac. His accessible funds, however, come from his Navy salary.

- Skills: Trained Tactician, Experienced Sailor, Combat Veteran
- Personality: Once an idealist, logical and by the book, time spent as Zark's subordinate has smoothed out some of Bashir's rougher edges. More uncompromising but also less stoically tempered than he used to be and more sardonic. Still, Bashir still serves best at providing his commanding officer with a more objective viewpoint, able to see most confrontations from multiple angles.

- Combat Function: Bashir is young, healthy, and well trained. He is an excellent marksman and has been in enough combat situations to keep calm under pressure. That being said, he is a command track sailor, not a special forces commando. Against an expert martial artist, a trained Force User, or someone with otherwise exceptional fighting skills, the Mon Calamari would stand little chance.
The twelfth son in a family of affluent Dac shipwrights, when Bashir came of age he emigrated to the Republic to seek his own fortune out from under the shadow of his family. Still an academy cadet when the One Sith invaded, the polar Mon Cal managed to survive and link up with the remnants of the 17th Republic Fleet on Sullust. Gaining the rest of his education through a form of work study as he served as a junior officer aboard a variety of lighter capital classes for the remainder of the One Sith war, through a mixture of competence and attrition was fast tracked up to Lieutenant Commander on a star defender by the time Coruscant had been liberated, before finally getting reassigned to serve as the newly promoted Commodore Zark's executive.
The Omega veteran's former XO had assumed his old command, and Bashir had apparently been perceived as a model replacement candidate to keep Zark in line. They had only a brief time to get to know one another before the crisis at Atrisia forced them suddenly into an extreme combat situation, and since then Bashir has hardly left his superior's side. Although he could have avoided it, the young officer joined the Commodore in his exile to the Elrood sector after the events at Kaeshana, earning greater experience as the executive of the ANS Hereafter, attached to Fort Dawn, as Zark's duties in command of the station's defenses left him in direct command of a star defender for extended periods of time.
After the Battle of Skor, Bashir finally received a promotion to Commander, and fought alongside the Commodore for the duration of the war with the First Order.
