STANDARD FEATURES
  • Primary purpose of this station is to receive, process and house temporarily approximately 1.25 billion people from evacuated regions. This includes all the housing, medical stations, food processing and distribution centers to manage a population of this size.
  • Recycling centers for food, waste, materials and anything else brought aboard this station reduce its dependence on outside supply lines make it ideal for keeping refugees, as outside of personnel manning this station requires little upkeep.
  • Small scale molecular furnaces with fabrication centers allow for the station and its personnel to perform maintenance without needing access to larger ship yards or imported parts. This allows for the station to be able to perform without outside assistance for long periods of time.
  • Houses various dock yards from shuttles and other smaller craft, to being able to dock with capital ships up to 1,200 meters long. This allows for rapid receipt and processing of refugees, or even allows this station to make emergency repairs to various vessels.
ADVANCED SYSTEMS
  • Zeus Isotope-5A Reactor Systems located across each of the station allows for the entire station to not only have plenty of power to run at optimum capacity, but back up reactors in case one of the systems needs to be brought down for repairs or maintenance. And offer an extremely long lifetime of fuel capacity for energy production.
  • Multiple Svalinn Class Shield Generators located across the station offer multiple and redundant shielding across the entirety of the station. This allows for the shields to be able to withstand even larger scale bombardments for long periods of time, making it an extremely difficult target to crack.
  • Armor plating is a composite style of layered plating, consisting of layers between FM-001, FM-002, Phrik-A plating and Duraplast-E. This layering alongside the plating across the station to be over 100 meters thick in areas, with the thinnest portion being to emergency hangar doors at 70 meters thick, makes this station extremely hard to crack or board without significant firepower.
  • Internal comms suite includes a JBC2P system and a separate Wind Talker Class Comm Array, allowing secure communications to the outside world and even the ability to direct and/or coordinate with CAF assets.
  • Internal Security force consisting of B-7 Battle Droids, TCD-1s, alongside the ability to facilitate and field organic security personnel. Droid complement is large enough to police and secure the population gathered on this station, ensuring that even with such a large population, that safety and security are held in the highest standard.
STRENGTHS
  • A literal floating castle: This station is meant to be extremely hard to break open, or destroy. This is due to the stupid amount of shields, power behind those shields, and the ridiculous amount of armor behind that. This makes physically destroying this station, or laying siege to it a daunting prospect, as the armor is so thick that even boarding pods will have a difficult time getting their payloads aboard due to the sheer thickness and hardness of the armor (and that's if they get through the shields). This is complicated even further by the station's ability to essentially sustain itself for long periods of time, both with power, and materials. And that there's a lot of security forces aboard since they're there to ensure that a population of over 1 billion lives is as safe and secure as possible. Which means you're gonna need a lot more than luck.
WEAKNESSES
  • Nancy No Guns: So this station isn't armed, at all. This means you can just park your fleet outside and hammer on it all day, every day, without any risk from the station itself.
  • Sitting Duck: This station is also so massive that it can't move at all under its own power. So it's not going anywhere without something towing it, and even that is such a daunting task that when these stations are set up, they have to be transported in pieces to the respective systems for assembly. That's the amount of tonnage this thing weighs, meaning that you're gonna need something stupidly massive to move it.
DESCRIPTION
Created directly in response to the CIS's bill to create fortress Systems across each sector, the Bastion Class Station was an answer to a problem immediately posed by this issue. How do you house, manage, and essentially take care of over a billion refugees flooding into a single system? The answer was surprisingly simple, if not quite blunt. Build a station for it. And the Bastion is that station. A massive station by any means, this allows for the Confederacy to be able to evacuate possible refugees to a place that is safe, secure, and mostly self sufficient. This allows for those who are busy dealing with whatever caused this station to have to be used, to focus on the problems in front of them, rather than worry about the safety and well being of their loved ones who are now quite far away.
