SPECIAL FEATURES

- Protera interlining: Offers additional protection from blasters, glancing blows (sabers, knives, slugs)
Strengths:
- Minor protection: The BDU features a lining of Protera, providing an average layer of protection against blasters and glancing bows (sabers, slugs, knives).
- Polished comfort: Soldiers are able to move with ease while wearing BDUs that keep them in compliance with the dress code of the Antarian Rangers.
Weaknesses:
- Not armor: While the BDU does offer protection against attacks, it is still vulnerable to punctures, stabs, slugs, and sabers -- direct/multiple attacks will break through. These garments are meant to be worn outside of most battle situations.
- Extreme weather: Though the Versatex fabric is waterproof, it does little to protect against extreme cold or heat. Additional clothing or armor items will be needed to supplement the BDU when needed.
DESCRIPTION
The standard battle dress uniform was made with the soldier in mind, featuring a functional, durable design that fits in well with the clean-cut aesthetic of the Antarian Rangers. Crafted with a versatile blend of Cotton and Versatex, the uniform breathes well but is also waterproof and tear-resistant. A lining of Protera fabric gives the uniform an edge over basic BDUs, offering average protection against blasters and glancing blows. Felled seams and bar-tacking help to create a tough construction that will hold together, and stress-points have been further reinforced to ensure the longevity of the BDU. The right breast pocket features the insignia of the Antarian Rangers embroidered, and there is room for additional service patches and badges to adorn the uniform. The only items included in the set that do not feature the Versatex/Cotton/Protera blend are the plain tee-shirt and leather boots.
