Skirmish Battle for Kessel | Bryn vs SJO

The Bryn'adûl vs The Silver Jedi Order

Unexpected Neighbours | Battle for Kessel

Following many brutal victories over the Galactic Alliance, sprawling evacuation attempts have seemingly grinded to a halt. Silence stirs in the wake of the genocide of billions. Unknown to the Bryn and Silver Jedi; Kessel now acts as the staging ground for a bloody skirmish. This will be the first true battle fought. The Jedi and the Titan stand as opposites, aware of one and other, watching and waiting for the next strike as the jaws of battle close on the throats of Tathra's Children and the Valiant Defenders of the Silver Jedi.

Whilst the Bryn'adûl move to set up an operations centre on the abandoned planet of Kessel, a secret outpost within the confines of a large abandoned mine readies to defend against the inevitable battle with the Bryn'adûl incursion.

For the Bryn'adûl this silent world would be used as a way to strike at their foes quickly and as a relay station for their listening posts throughout the Mara Corridor. Where as the Silver Jedi would see it utilised as the first line of defence against the on coming horde.

The battle for Kessel will decide who casts the first stone.

While forces of Silver Space certainly knew of the growing size of their new neighbor, evacuation attempts did not cease. From planet to planet the whole might of Concordia aimed to relocate and preserve the lives of the countless Bryn'adul sought to destroy.

Kessel was one such planet devoid of civilians. The willing were brought in: swallowed by their Silver neighbors and dispersed into the core planets. After the travesties reported over the months, practically all took the aid and moved out before the inevitable reached them. One could only hope they would remain safe from the encroaching threat.

As the first warning blip seared through the halls of the hidden bunker, even that future was called into question. Kessel had visitors. And not the welcomed kind.

The well-used warning system that the Silver Jedi installed on the border planets kicked into action, and with one simple message, everyone that mattered knew of Bryn'adul's unexpected arrival.

They have landed in Kessel. Large forces-- unsure size. Will remain hidden until backup-- strike together-- pin them down, push them out. Requesting aid.

For the Silver Jedi, the warning bunker served its purpose. The element of surprise was on their side for the first time. They would lay in wait until back up came. Then together, they strike while Bryn'adul least expected it.

It was a blip on the radar. Blink and you'd miss it. For the briefest moment, the ENV Sword of Eshan appeared in the system, launching two dropships on the opposite side of the planet from where the Bryn had begun their attack. It skirted through the dark side of the planet while the Echani flagship jumped out of the system once more. It had appeared on its own, likely patrolling the vicinity for a chance to test the waters against the Bryn and their beasts. Likely looking for some vengeance after it was uncovered, thanks in part to eyewitness testimony, that they had been involved in the assault on Eshan that had taken place some time prior. They had made a powerful enemy that day.

The dropships neared the edge of the daylight zone, approaching at low altitude in an effort to avoid detection. They hovered above and behind a small ridgeline where they quietly lowered their troop transport pods and then zipped off to find themselves a place to lie in wait for a future pickup call. Once the pods were on the ground, one opened to disgorge 28 Bryn'adul Hunters and one Echani Queen who walked out and marched to the ridgeline while the droids established a secured perimeter. The remaining pod was closed, waiting to divulge its single occupant should the need for such arise. In the distance she could see the Bryn sending in their hordes, but she couldn't quite make out what they were up against just yet.

"Hunter One," she said, looking at the droid that moved to stand beside her.

"Ma'am?" it asked, looking to her.

"What do you see?"

The droid turned and looked off at the invasion force. Its eyesight was far better than hers and she hadn't brought any vision enhancing equipment with her, so she'd have to rely on him. She needn't worry; the droid was more than capable of filling the need.

"They've just begun landing."

"We should wait a minute and see what they deploy then. We may or may not need him."

"Roger. The others have been informed to lay low. We await your command."

Yes, and wait they would. She wasn't about to rush in without seeing what they were up against, despite being confident her Hunters could make quick work of the majority of what the Bryn'adul would send out. Better safe than sorry.

The Primarch stood lone and solitary on the precipice of one of the many tall spires of the Super-Structure. As his gaze searched around, he felt he was looking for something misplaced. His gut sensed it but he could not see it. It was either that or that he considered the hundreds of
Nimscall terraformers to be unsettling. One would think the dense red air they produced would remind him of home. But, it did not.

The wind nipped at a phantom grasp, for a brief moment it felt like his left hand was clenching. But, he knew he didn't have one anymore. In fact, he'd outright refused a replacement. Some believed it strange, others understood. It was a reminder, it put him in his place. Humbled him, perhaps. He couldn't tell. That battled with his choices.

His unblinking gaze watched from on high as the second Bound Debaucher was placed within the facility. He felt the creature from a distance, but it wasn't it he was fixated on. It was distance. He had to remind himself that he was more valuable up here than in the thick of the combat. As a Servitor was more valuable once underground than on the surface. Speaking of which.

The one they had brought to dig out the space for their underground facilities had almost completed its task and was taking a momentary break, curled up in a ball at the bottom of its tunnelling pit. The creature seemed unnerved by the arrival of the Syphons. But nearly half of them they had brought were out patrolling with small groups of Risen-Srael. Such as Osam.

The Bryn'adûl Super Structure has begun construction. Intelligence suggests this to be the backbone of their arriving presence on Kessel. No Worm sightings have yet been reported, however bare in mind that is their M.O (modus operandi) LYKOS. X-RAY is green. Bryn Forces number in mass.

"Roger that, Overwatch".

Captain Joshua Harris acknowledged before turning back to the rest of his Squad. Lykos was a special forces unit of the Antarian Rangers, temporarily stationed at Outpost X-RAY for reconnaissance missions outside of Silver Space. The Bryn'adûl were one of several large and questionable warring states on Concordia's radar, they being the collective leadership of worlds under the protection of the Silver Jedi.

"Quinn, get into position overhead of X-RAY. If anything moves, I want your scope on it" Harris informed her, the seven of them crouched low outside of the underground military facility. The former spice mine of Kessel had once been an active source of spice for the sector, however these days it held an entirely different surprise for those seeking to tread ground that didn't belong to them.

"You got it, Cap'" First Lieutenant Quinn Morre responded before moving fast and low for the higher ridge of the mouth of the great mine. Quinn was their recon specialist, a sniper who's former professions had earned her the eye of military interest, not all for positive reasons.

N'Vortau gave a low and rough grumble, the Wookiee Master Sergeant seeming eager to get underway. "Sergeant, X-Ray's entrance is priority one until back-up arrives. I want high explosives ready to hit the enemy should they reach danger-close", to which the Wookiee replied with a quiet growl and moved to set up ranged artillery and heavy machine-gun emplacements at the entrance of home-base.

The Corporal Aurlin Kyule had his hands full back within the outpost hangar, readying the CAV for its anticipated use. Aside Sergeant N'Vortau, the Rodian was the best equipped and qualified to oversee the vehicle preparations within.

"Losi, Parker and Tarsi on me" Captain Harris looked finally to Odyn Tarsi, the newest member of the Lykos Unit. "Overwatch has us on recon patrol, we're to watch the front in case these bastards get danger close. Shape up, we're moving out" Harris commanded, to which Tarlou Losi needed no further encouragement, the Togruta stationed with them far longer than Odyn or the other newly recruited Abbie Parker had been.

Wherever the Brute Emissary went, the loyal forces of the 10th followed.

It'd only been some hours after they'd taken Sriluur. Fresh from the battlefield, a dozen Heldrak dropships had landed in the open fields just beyond the main construction site. Galak was sitting on an ammo crate, fixing one of the straps of his left pauldron. He looked up to the sky, watching as the Carrier lowered one of the sections of the Drone cloning facility into the depths below. Galak didn't like waiting, but at least the pre-fabricated segments of the Super-Constructs allowed what would require months to take weeks instead.

It was good progress. But, overseeing something he had saw a hundred times wasn't why he was here. The Chieftain himself had sent Galak to report on the situation, apparently the Primarch was uneasy. Perhaps he sensed some long dormant mining technology underneath the surface? The Syphons hadn't picked up anything yet, and with the Bound Debauchers landed anything with a three kilometre radius wouldn't be working for much longer. Whatever the Primarch was worried about, he doubted it was even real.

And if it was, they would handle it.

His eyes shifted as a shadow loomed over him, one of his own troops. "The Chieftain is ready for the report."

Galak simply nodded, making his way inside the Dropship to a small room in the back of the vessel. Galak placed the communication stone on the ground, it synced up with his own embedded in the gauntlet. He felt the distinct influence of telepathy, of the mind stones surging through him and reaching his neural receptors. The vision grew in side and detail, the Titan himself stood, cleaning blood from the haft of his Axe. The Brute Emissary extended his arm outward with a clenched fist raised before slamming it into his chest and falling to one knee.

"Sire. All is well on Kessel. The planet is abandoned."

"And the Primarch?"

"He still believes something to be amiss, Sire."

"I will arrive shortly with additional forces. Protect Kessel. I entrust this task to you, Emissary."

"It will be done."

"Abandoned spice mine on Kessel. Check off another box on your list of sites to see in the galaxy?" said Sariya.

Gir briefly glanced at the echani woman and offered a subdued if somewhat amused smile, "Oh, totally. I'll put that right up there with the inside of a rancor's belly."

As much as Sariya's conversations ribbed him, he had begun to almost enjoy it. Certainly more entertaining than the almost too erudite conversations with Ariela, as stimulating as they were. The pair had just finished touring the refitted spice mine as part of a red team assessment. Given the base's origins and the limited time they've had to refurbish the base, Gir had been reasonably impressed with it, particularly its internal defenses and its long-term life support and hydroponics. Such as a base could even thrive under siege, especially with its large amount of droid forces. His comlink offered a few short chirps, signalling an incoming message. The man tapped a button, letting the messages play through an attached earbud. The Bryn'adul are here? Of course they are...that is my luck, after all...He turned to Sariya.

"The Bryn'adul have arrived on the planet and have started to set up a base apparently."

She stared at him, "We'll be heading off planet then, I'm assuming?"

"Hard to say what the situation is like in space," said the man, "the Bryn'adul may have come in more numbers than the defense ships here can handle. We should prepare to hunker down while reinforcements are on their way."

She let out a loud sigh, "They may come here first before that happens."

"That is a possibility," agreed the man, "I suppose that means we should hit the armory."

It was a fairly short walk to the base's fairly reasonably stocked armory. The man had only brought a pistol and a few grenades with him initially, but thankfully as one of the base's expected to see action against the Bryn'adul, it also had Gundark II Power Armor and CryoBan Rifles for use against the alien menace. The man donned the power armor and grabbed one of the CryoBan rifles under the echani's skeptical gaze.

"We better not go looking for trouble," said the woman, crossing her arms, "you're not exactly a tough ground pounder."

"This may surprise you," said the man, "but I trained in hand to hand combat with the united mandalorian clans as a young lieutenant. I've been in a scrap or two since then."

"Yeah, those are the words that worry me."

"I'm sure we can hang out with some of the defense forces here," said the man, "and if worse gets to worse, then we fight."

"Uh-huh. You keep saying that, and I keep doubting that..."

War, battle, finally! She waited for this since she knew what war means to her kind/race. Finally she can prove her worth. Reidun just finished her training recently, so for her it was the first battle she could be a part of. That is why she was expecting the whole thing with childish excitement. She can prove, above all to herself, that she is a worthy drael of herself even for what she was. It meant a lot of herself. After arriving she waited for another order at the secret outpost.

She hadn't gotten anything like that yet, so she didn't really know what to expect. Reconnaissance, fighting? Reidun was suitable for both, but she made sure there were those here who were better. It didn’t help much with her minority complex, and her self-assurance. She hoped when she finally fought the soft flesh, her insecurity would also end. She hoped, hoped very much. But now she still has to wait. The patience was not her strength, especially in uncertainty.

When she has to wait for her victim, she can wait. She was patient in such cases even during her training, but this was different. Now she felt the scent of the blood, the battle. Her blood called her to the battle. She looked for one of her superiors with her gaze to see if she would finally get her task of what to do. But until that happens she has to be patient and wait. She had to, because if she couldn’t do that, she would only prove her weakness and not her worth.

It had been interesting time for Kat, she was working hard on her growing company and had plans for a new collection of starfighters and perhaps a few corvettes. She also would like to fit herself some new armour that could nice but she needed to figure out where she should base the company and how to best grow her company. It also meant that her Jedi training would likely be put on the side, which wasn't too different to how she was doing in her training right now. It didn't bother her too much, she was happy to step back from the Force training and focus on building and inventing. That was currently where her interest laid.

Today she was near Kessel to check it out for testing out her new engines when they are developed, she had a couple ideas for the engine so she was curious where best to test them. Kessel seemed idea to push its limits. As she entered Kessel space, she got word of trouble on the world in SJO comms. Taking initiative, Kat guided her ship into a remote area and grabbed her rifle and saberpike. Kat was interested in learning more on this Bryn faction that were slaughtering worlds of people. Keeping quiet, Kat moved to where it was reported that the group had been sighted. She was praying that she wasn't getting in over her head.

To say that each and every creation of the Bryn'adul was automatically something comfortable to be around would have been a blatant deception. Many of the war-beasts were fairly comforting to see, of course, because they signaled a victorious conclusion to battle, and their ferocity had been directed by means of the Shamans and their mental connections. Most creatures, in general, tended to give the Draelvasier a degree of respect due to their size and strength, and the viciousness they carried within themselves.

The Arevallicar Syphon was not such a creature. Useful in the way that a Spiker was useful, it completed its designated task with expeditiousness, and in eliminating the mechanical contraptions of the enemy it possessed an efficacy only matched by the Bound Debauchers. Osam observed as the abominable creature scuttled across the dirty ground of Kessel, like a Skag that had caught the scent of something, only to contort itself back to its full height and continue its march at the behest of the Risen-Srael around it.

That had been a pleasant change, at least. The Sraelvun drones had never been blessed with an overabundance of education or intelligence, and such a rare tool as the Syphon wasn't trusted in their hands. Instead, the newly anointed Risen-Srael had been gathered together from their drone companies and placed into squads with the intent of patrolling the area for signs of electrical disturbance. Why there had been so much worry in the heart of the Primarch was unknowable, but he was a powerful member of their race, and Osam didn't doubt that he possessed some form of prescient foresight which had alerted him to an unseen danger.

"Major. It stops." One of the Risen under his command uttered, directing his attention towards the Syphon which had suddenly paused in its march, it's blind head jutting towards the nearest star in stark defiance of the radioactive waves that would have scorched many race's eyes. Eliciting a sickening shriek like a throttled Aeravalin, the creature began to stalk towards its prey, bringing attention to what appeared to be... a hole in the ground. Had the Syphon been distracted by a prey-animal and begun to chase after it? No, they feasted only on electricity didn't they? Did they?

Osam sighed, recognizing his relative lack of understanding over the nature of the creature. One thing was certain, though, he considered as the creature began to hiss with greater speed, the veracity of its find growing steadily in the process -- it had located something and become agitated at it. That was enough to report to the Primarch and the Brute-Emissary. With a bark, he jabbed the Syphon in the hip with his Spiker rifle, jolting it from its "prey" and forcing it back into marching with the group as they set off to report their findings.

Another vessel joined the Silver party, reverting at the upper limits of Kessel's orbit. However, unlike the Sword, the recon drone wouldn't even so much as leave a blip, its stealthy hyperdrive neutralizing exotic radiation and gravitic aberrations that normally marked an object's return to realspace.

Quickly, it made a b-line for the shattered remains of Kessel's moon, joining the churn of debris now circling the craggy world below.

Now caught in the drift, it proceeded with its mission, observing the progress of the Bryn planetside with passive sensors, and listening into allied comms. Otherwise, it did nothing, directed not to risk initiating any communications on its own until certain conditions were met. When a certain Bryn had appeared.

Jyoti was sure he would come. How could he ever resist a clash against the Jedi after they finally unveiled their audacious maneuver?

When the architect of the ongoing xenocide did appear, so would she, and finish what was started on Honoghr.

For now though, all she could do was wait and listen for her chance.

The trio of Zealot Elites bounded across the barren planet, their Skag mounts groaning and roaring as they bounded through a dust storm entering the area.

The three of them had been sent as a scouting force to ensure the construction of the Superstructure remained unhindered. So far, the trek had been uneventful, with the three Zealot Elites pulling down visors on their helmets to protect their faces from the dust. However, there was suddenly a dip in the otherwise flat and rocky terrain surrounding them on all sides. A mine, barely visible through the looming dust cloud, lay under half a kilometer away. Seconds later, the trio halted their beasts at the entrance of the mine. The three Zealots dismounted and each pulled out a long, thick cord of rope attached to belts on their waists. Finding a series of jutting rocks nearby, they tied their ropes around a series of hooks underneath the saddles of the Skags before wrapping the remaining rope around the rock. With their beasts secure, the Zealots entered the mine.

It seemed almost entirely abandoned, a spice mine that had long since dried up. The mining structures surrounding the main hole were covered with rust, with large piles of dust lining the tops of mining equipment and roofs. There was no movement aside from the vast cloud of dust in the air and the occasional creak of a decrepit machine. Not even the mining droids remained operational. From what Kra'rolk could infer, it was clear that any organic miners and prospectors had left this facility decades ago.

It would be a perfect opportunity for a raid.

With its overseers long gone, the mine would be completely unprotected. The Zealots could seize stores of credits and spices to distribute among themselves and fuel their war effort. Their greed grew further as they realized that there were still dozens of crates scattered throughout the mine, their contents unknown.

"Let's split up and collect what we can." ordered Kra'rolk's Commander. "We'll split half the goods 40/30/30, and give the rest to the Superstructure wardens."

Not wanting to speak excessively in the presence of the dust storm, the other two Zealot Elites simply nodded. Then, the three split up and began to pillage.

The Bryn'adûl's landing forces were developing the Heldrak Landing Site in preparation of making this world another of its footholds, its tendrils already in motion with the next worlds in their sights. As the servitor rested and the Super-Construct did its work, the Zealots partook in simple reconnaissance, with each and every one of the Zealots secretly wishing for one thing. That they would find something.

They already had foot patrols out, mainly those Risen-Srael, the newest hybrids to be made from the Draelvasier genetic markers. It was a good thing, it meant that the species as a whole was becoming stronger.

Even with their new command, these Risen were no match for a good reconnaissance mission from a zealot squad. Even if it was Recon, the Zealot Officer knew that his squad needed to stretch their legs. Relax a bit, especially since Sriluur was still so fresh. At least to most of them it was...

The newest addition to Rhivak Squad was a youth, who according to her schooling was the next in line for a position as a Zealot. And a Zealot she would be. Kyrim calmly told to Adrian L'lerim-Vandiir Adrian L'lerim-Vandiir :

Rhivak was to fly their Striker Shards south, to provide air support to a squad of Zealot Elites who had stumbled upon a mineshaft in the same vicinity as the Syphon had become agitated. Which could mean only one thing. Heretical Technology. Technology of the Weak. Things to kill.

But as according to the Elites down below, it was just spice and crates. Stuff that could be repurposed. Not that heretical then, Kyrim muttered.

They watched for some time before the droid spoke again.

"Digging has stopped. These creatures don't employ technology and a dig site as vast as the one they've amassed cannot have been dug so quickly by small hands."

Niamh nodded. She'd suspected as much. The rumors that had abounded in response to what had occurred on Eshan had indicated that the Bryn'adul possessed massive creatures that could burrow beneath the ground. It wasn't a surprise that they had at least one of them on Kessel to do their, quite literally, dirty work. Of course she'd planned accordingly for this reality, well aware of the destruction such monstrosities could unleash thanks to past battles with giant sithspawn and other such creatures. Even a rancor was a difficult foe to take down when it possessed Force abilities. That was entirely the reason she'd brought the additional crate.

Before she could speak however, the droid continued.

"I see several enemy vessels heading this way, likely for patrol reasons."

"That puts a damper on things. Wake him up, but have him stay in the crate for now. Disperse the remainder of yourselves and use your natural coloration to blend into the surrounding. They might pick you up electrically, but they won't be able to tell what it is. Besides, I'll give them something more to worry about."

"As you command."

The droid bounded off as silent commands were issued. Hunter One entered the second container and closed it behind him. The contents would be safe from airstrikes for the time being, but she wasn't worried about it. Instead, she stood on the edge, plainly visible for the approaching craft if they should choose to see her. She wasn't going to give them much choice, however. As they drew nearer, she reached deep into the Force. The benefits of fighting a foe using a moderately alive ship were that they were relatively easy to find in the Force. With a powerful pull, she attempted to pull one into the other, hoping to cause a collision that would result in their destruction.

If it didn't work, she'd at least get their attention, and that was enough.

After speaking to the Emissary at Kessel, Tathra retreated to his anechoic chamber. A small circular cage that encased him in deafening chamber, originally designed to harness his senses, but the chamber had eventually became a refuge. No sound, nothing but the beat of his hearts to remind him he still existed. He sat bare chested, the dead air of the chamber making him away of every wound he'd sustained at Honoghr. His left eye had fully recovered, but his jaw still cracked when he tried to speak.

Dwelling on his wounds made him anxious to stretch his legs, almost as if he couldn't be certain they were even still working. His own ears picked up the high heart rate, even entirely alone the loss of control left him a shade of crimson - embarrassed as his thoughts were forced outward and to the Galaxy beyond the confines of the Chamber. His mind and body began to settle once again, but all too quickly he heard the relayed voice of the Conductor of the Divine Brutality. The Anechoic chamber came apart into several pieces, sinking into the circular platform as Tathra rose to his feet. They had arrived at Kessel.

"Prepare a combat deployment, conductor." Tathra's voice was weak, every time he left the Anechoic Chamber it felt like waking from a bad sleep.

Tathra sighed, stretching as he walked into his Armoury. The stone slated doors slid across the ground, revealing the separate segments of his armour as he began to arm himself. It always took longer to arm yourself alone, but he had no intention of letting someone else dress him as if he was a child. Tathra tightened the strap over rib-cage, tightening the inner Kraelmundr plates before he attached the Verikast outer layer.

He had never been a child, and had no intentions in devolving as age took him.

The last was his Axe, the weapon he had only so recently used to defeat many Jedi Knights on the fields of battle. Tathra gently propped up the weapon in his left hand, its extreme weight almost a feather in his grasp. The ruby beards glow pulsed, his eyes almost tricking him into believing it mimicked the beat of his heart. Did it perhaps enjoy the killing? It was a tool, but it was his.

Galak left the communications room, as he left he was immediately confronted with news of an 'agitation' half a kilometre west of the Super-Construct. The baedurin growled, half huffing at the possibility the Primarch and Seers had been right again. The Brute Emissary whispered a sigh, nodding to Captain Pavium.

"Pavium, I want a sweep with some of our

Galak didn't want to begin battle preparation just yet. No reason to get the warriors all ready for combat to end in disappointment. But, the Emissary saw fit to ensure their was transparency through the ranks. From Shaman to Drone, word was put out to expect the possibility of combat. However Galak had to head to the upper levels of the partially constructed Construct. The elevators didn't do much for his stomach, watching as his forces on the ground became ant-sized dots hundreds of feet up.

The Brute Emissary marched onto the rooftop the Primarch was standing idle over.

"You may want to wake up that Servitor. I think you might be right."

Amani had been making several stops at SJO operated locations in the galaxy. If she was going to start putting herself out there more, it made sense to get familiar with places outside of Kashyyyk, especially as tensions in the galaxy weren’t necessarily getting any lighter.

Her latest stop brought her to Kessel, where they had set up a hidden base in expectance of encroaching Bryn’adul, and she had come at quite possibly the worst time. Amani rounded a corner to see a squad of troops trotting down the corridor, and stopped the last one,

“Uhh, excuse me, sir? Is something going on?”

The man looked at his squad, then back at her, clearing his throat before answering,

“Ahem, reports say Bryn’adul forces have-“

“Wait, what?”

“-been reported on Kessel, miss-“

“Did you say Bryn forces?”

“There’s been no-“

“Here?”

“-Attack yet-“

“Attack?!”

“-But we’re preparing some countermeasures-“

“Why am I still here?!”

“... If you’re not fighting, miss, I’d suggest you head to a safe location further inside. Trying to leave now could be dangerous for you or others.”

Amani nodded and quickly made her way down the opposite direction. She wasn’t a soldier, are you kidding? Of course, if people got hurt…

She paused, a twinge of guilt hitting her. Hiding in the back while others fought didn’t sit right, even knowing she wouldn’t be much help on the front lines. Maybe healing the injured? But even that, being in the thick of a potential firefight, it still seemed beyond her capabilities. Anxiety got the better of her decision making, and Amani decided to keep heading further down the corridor for now. Making to a more defensible location was her best bet. Probably.

Reidun continued to wait, hoping it would turn out that not only were they on the planet, but others as well. She really wanted to fight and go to battle, since she was born she was really just waiting for that, that was the meaning of her existence, to destroy the weak. While she waited, one of his superiors, Kyrim Tenebris Kyrim Tenebris finally appeared and he gave orders to her. She nodded to the “question”, and after that she answered too:

<”Yes, it was part of my training, officer!”> she replied.

After her answer she turned away and ran to the striker shards. As soon as she got one, she followed her superior to the south. Her blood blazed from the possibility, she was excited, she couldn't wait to really be on the battlefield and destroy everything that was weak compared to them. She was very excited at first, but in the end she was just disappointed not to see any enemies, only landmarks. Things and spices.

<” I don't see anything, what should we do, officer?”> she asked.

She continued to watch the area, the ground, but still nothing. It was too easy that way; she really hoped they would run into some resistance. But for the time being she continues to follow her superior and also watches the surroundings, in the air and on the earth too to see if they can find anything. At least until you get another order…

It wasn't just the Primarch, the beasts could feel it, the others Shamans could feel it. The Seers had sensed it also days before. Something was amiss at Kessle and the arrival of the Emissary shortly followed by the entrance of Tathra's personal Conquester in the upper atmosphere all but confirmed it.

The Primarch remained unblinking, unfazed. Drek'ma turned to face the Emissary as he spoke. The Primarch listened, half-listening to his stone-communicator as he was made aware of the situation around the mine. The suggestion to awake the Servitor seemed premature.

"Do you need to calm yourself, Emissary?" The Primarch stepped slightly closer to Galak, the Shaman's head tilting slightly as he stared through the Baedurin Warrior.

No. He would not summon the beast out from under them, but they would prepare for the unexpected.

"Our Chieftain has arrived, Emissary Galak. All will proceed as we intend." The one-handed Primarch's retreat from his proximity to the Emissary was echoed by the tap of his Staff along the ground. No grand measures were necessary, not as of yet.

"I will prepare our Shamans. No doubt the Chieftain will have brought his own forces."

Without waiting for a response, the Primarch entered the elevator and begun the descent toward the Shaman facilities.

Kessel was one of the major staging grounds for the Bryn'adul's advance to the Mid Rim. Over the past decade, the crusade had decimated the Outer Rim, leaving behind them a string of ravaged worlds terraformed beyond recognition and teeming with manufacturing and cloning facilities to feed the insatiable war-machine. It wouldn't be long until the entire sector was consumed. And when it was, the Mid Rim would be next. The core soon after. And so on until the dream of a pure and powerful Galaxy held so close to countless hearts was realised.

Deep under the Superbase's foundations, Hrajlmak fiddled with his armour. Missing two fingers on a hand that had barely enough flesh to keep itself moving, donning and adjusting his armour had become an incredibly frustrating task. With his ruined hand he tentatively pulled a Drael-leather strap taught across his chest. Once across he slowly moved his right to secure it. The remaining three fingers holding the strap tried desperately to hold with what strength they had left. But it wasn't enough. The strap snapped from his meager grip and whipped back to his shoulder. Hrajlmak roared in anger and punched a hole in the concrete-like wall ahead of him. He shook with anger and leaned into another punch. The wave of intense, cold presence in the force brought him back to reality. He condensed his frustration and composed himself, turning away and heading for the elevator from which the Primarch would emerge.
