- Modified disruptor technology increases range and damage.
- Duranium plating, shock-absorbent gel, and liquid-aenite coating increase structural integrity.
- Enhanced grips and shock-absorbent gel decrease recoil and increase the handling ability of the weapon.
- Heavy Pistol: The BAW-57 has an increased damage input when compared to most blaster pistols, which makes it a practical and powerful sidearm on the battlefield as well as increasing its usefulness against varying types of armor.
- Souped-Up Blaster: The BAW-57 is constructed with disruptor components that, while it does not make the blaster a
- Streamlined: With an internal recoil receiver that is lined with SACG-23S Shock Absorbent gel, the BAW-57 features both reduced recoil and overheating prevention, making it more useful and less likely to jam as well as protecting the blaster from internal damage.
- Reinforced Protection: The BAW-57 is encased in a reinforced duranium shell and liquid-aenite coating, an exceptionally sturdy metal that protects the blaster from external damage.
- Ammunition Cartridge: Although upgraded from the pitifully-small power cells of its predecessor, the number of shots that the BAW-57 is able to achieve with a single power cell is still lower than the standard due to the increased power draw from the high damage output.
- Big Blaster: The BAW-57 is heavier and has more mass than most conventional blasters, placing it more in the battlefield range of pistols and limiting its civilian practicality.
Almost a complete overhaul of the original design, the BAW-57 Heavy Blaster Pistol is designed to perform well in all of the categories that its predecessor, the BAW-55, lacked in. While retaining the powerful nature of the design, the BAW-57 features a slightly increased ammunition capacity, reduced recoil and overheating, and is more reinforced from external damage. Very much a battlefield-oriented pistol, the BAW-57 is able to punch holes in armor that most pistols would only make a scratch in, and is an extremely capable sidearm in the right hands.
