- Role: In reality he is a simple sidekick, however he plays a few roles through being a medic by being able to dispense stim packs, a (limited) engineer with his slicing tool, and a reconnaissance droid due to his mobility. Overall, a multirole sidekick would be the proper way of describing him.

- Appearance: BD-5 is a fairly typical BD unit exploration droid but.. has some slight alterations. First of all, he has the normal resourceful design of its model line - along with that, he has a notable vibrant yellow and black color scheme - one very clear for this droid who loves sticking out with his equally vibrant personality. its head also features the model's signature large, round eye and corresponding scanning / zoom enhanced eye. Now, this particular BD has its scars - with the wear and tear of numerous adventures from the scuff marks to slight dents that can be found on its body. The legs as well show signs of heavy use which have been from traversing some.. rugged and dangerous terrain and the semi poor repairs Janith has done over the year. Finally, BD-5 also differs from typical BD units with the storage and enhanced sensor node present ontop of his head - which was an upgrade Janith purchased for him.
