Beasts of the Galaxy [Mandalorian Empire]

Makeb, Galactic Coordinates AA-38

The northern hemisphere of this historically critical planet was facing away from its parent star once more when one of its most unique inhabitants peered up to the night sky. Seeing the moon and stars, lighting up the night sky and the many canyons between Makeb's countless mesa towers in their ancient glory, always brought a sense of wonder to the mind of Tol-Ruhk-Zin. Even with his mind being as 'simple' as it is with not a single soul ever present to teach him anything, the warped Tiss'shar instinctively knew that his purpose in this existence was to see what lay beyond his rocky, scum-infested world. A flash of memory, like the blink of an eye, would occasionally flit across his mind on clear nights like this.

Such a moment was happening now, distracting him from the odd light-projecting disk that he often played with. Brief images of seeing the stars passing by during the few times he was out of his old 'blue water cylinder' were all he could recall now, but these were more than enough to distract the mutated alien from his affairs for a time. These invigorating glimpses, unfortunately, only lasted for perhaps a handful of seconds before the fog returned to his memory once again. This time was no different, so he simply shook his great head about before returning his attention to the various buttons on the disk.

In his attempts to bring back the strange black-eyed and large-headed aliens back from the light-disk to make their upbeat sounds to him, Tol never noticed the shooting stars that occasionally drifted across the sky.

Planet Surface: Aboard the M'gaelak.

The planet surface had a sunken vibrancy, the shimmers of blue radiating over the long strides of rock and motley desert that extended over the open terrain made for a calming view. It mellowed the impatience of the arm crossed titan, standing on the perimeter edge of the M'gaelak's Siege Platform.

The Chieftain had sent the majority of their forces within the Siege Platform, stewing inside the beasts mechanised interior whilst they waited for the call to arms. It would make them irritable, but eager. A skeleton crew of lowly Ungullian Engineers stalked the length of the platform, making sure to steer clear of the vigilant titan. This quiet was a gift, and Tathra would enjoy it whilst it remained.

Minutes would pass, perhaps an hour and their prey would finally arrive. Kaine Australis had ran on Commenor, escaped by the skin of his teeth. Tathra had broke the Jedi and Mandalorian forces in one grand strike, but their artillery battered the whole capital; forcing all parties to retreat after the ship had caused the damaged to turn to rubble.

Here would be different. The Bryn'adûl had arrived as a sizeable force, and Tathra was not here for a Commenori Queen. The Chieftain had come for the one who got away.

Beth had come solely as a medical professional. Not as [member="Kaine Australis"] daughter, or as a member of the Clans. Her life had moved forward – and the now clearly noticeable although relatively small bump on her stomach showed plenty of reasons why that was the case. She was visiting family, anyways, so she figured a mission like this would probably be fine.

Hopefully, anyway. She wore a pretty standard outfit – jeans, a sweater (because she was always cold now), with a bag of medical supplies on her back. Beth was one of the last to exit the shuttle as she adjusted a strap of the bag. She didn’t like how the planet felt, gravity wise, but whatever. Beth gave a small smile to Kaine. He had changed over the past years, that was true.

But whether it was enough, Beth hadn’t yet decided. And part of that was her fault, she’d admit. He came back right before a very nasty accident and an accidental pregnancy and her moving across the galaxy… Gah, daddy issues.

Beth wandered towards the edge of the encampments, mostly to take some samples of the wildlife. [member="Yasha Cadera"] loved her botany, after all.

Surface of Makeb

The distant thundering booms of the siege-beast's footsteps had stirred the monstrous Tiss'shar from his distractions with a leap of his heart. It was a sound unlike anything that he'd heard before and, truly, it scared him. And if it made someone like him scared, then it made him curious to a fault. With his inquisitive mind getting the better of him, he hid away his various little trinkets in his cave shelter before taking off at a somewhat casual jog (at such speeds, he could still easily outpace the majority of the galaxy's humanoid species).

It wasn't until a little over a half-hour later that he had finally climbed up a particular mesa to grant him a grand view of his surroundings. To his west, he saw the uppermost portions of an ancient mining complex towering as high as the surrounding mesa towers. To his south, he saw something huge and monstrous storming its way through the stone forests of Makeb's surface. He had no idea what its destination was, but he did know that he wanted to put some more distance between himself and the titanic beast. Instinct drove him down the mesa and on towards the ancient mining complex, unwittingly straight into the sight of both Mandalorians and war droids.

The Chieftain had surmised that the best approach would be under the cover of dark. The M'gaelak was by no means a subtle tool, but the mining operations and droids beneath would cover the vibrations caused by the Siege Tower until they drew close.

There was a disturbance, a multitude more of Mandalorian forces making headway towards the mining sight, picked up by the Siege machine's long range sensors. No doubt the Mandalorian forces would arrive nearby their field commander. The Bryn'adûl would wait at a distance.

The Drones below grew impatient, the heat of the M'gaelaks innards carried a stench of blood and temptation of battle had set their primitive minds alight; the Drone Commanders having to subdue the brood with batons. Titian eyes flashed between the mesa's that dotted the edge of the ridge, they sat just above the mining facility. A perilous position, the Chieftain noted. Tathra summoned one of the Shaman's, the smaller wretch lingered but a few feet behind.

Tathra ordered, barely moving to acknowledge the Shaman as he turned to return deeper into the War-Machine. Preparations to release the Savage Drones were underway, but first - the Mandalorians would have to arrive in their entirety.

This orange waste extended for a few hundred metres as the M'gaelak crouched underneath the sculptured mesa's, its lithe limbs extended from its maw; clambering amongst the stone as more transports fell from atmosphere toward the mining sight.

Closer to the mining sight, a group of nearly twenty Sirracus Wyrms spread into the sand, falling between the cracks in the surface; watching the Mandalorians. They would act as the eyes and ears for the Bryn'adûl.
