Becoming Crystal Clear

[member="Darth Raijin"]

Freya had recently put up notices around the HoloNet, advertising that the old Tagge Company was hiring for new management workers. Originally, the company was mostly owned and operated by members of the family. But Freya being new to the barony and the company, she wasn't happy with the idea of being a Queen Bee at 30, neither had she found an appealing SO, sooo... She looked at the galaxy to help her rebuild.

Her first applicants was one of myths and rumors, but not legends. This... Whatever it was, a walking, talking... Shiny rock? Well, it had an interesting past, something not worthy much, but a lot to show promise. Freya being the open-minded gal she is, decided to give this, thing, an interview, because... Why not? The experience was very promising! She told her secretary to respond to the application, preparing an interview.

Raijin, as ever, really didn't stand on ceremony too much. He was wearing his same old beat-up western-bandit-ish outfit with the same old wide-brimmed hat he always insisted on wearing. The speeder he rode in on was almost as beat up. It might have once been a luxury model of some kind, but one too many crashes had dented its frame beyond repair. Good old rental vehicles. Contrary to his appearance and entrance, though, he was very polite to the secretary who directed him towards the office of Baroness Freya. When he walked into the office, he very gently closed the door behind him and took his hat off.

"Baroness? I'm Raijin."

In comparison to her usual meetings with representatives and employees, this was wildly different, but she wasn't sure how much she was surprised, really. She was about to speak to a shiny rock which... seems to be using a droid for a body. She gave a forced smile as best she could and greeted him, gesturing it to take a seat, then having second thoughts about the gesture if it could actually sit down. "Yes, you may call me Miss Tagge, and you are... Raijin? So, I see you have interest in our Mobquet Swoops and Speeders? Let's start off with this... why do you want Mobquet, and explain why you are part of a Sith faction but state you aren't Sith... expand on that a little, would you?"

Ah, well, the last question was always the first one he needed to answer. If you're not a Sith, then what are you? The answer was that he simply didn’t know. He didn’t identify as a Sith, and he certainly didn't want anything to do with the Knights of Ren or the One Sith Empire whatsoever. His imagination turned to this baroness in front of him for a moment. How similar must her experience ressurecting the Tagge Company have been to him coming back and taking over Eclipstica?

"Well, you probably know how it feels to come back home and see everything wrecked, no? The Kingdom isn't even the true Sith way anymore. I wouldn't have it be. Sitting in the Shadow Dynasty's former corner of the galaxy and gathering the ones that fall through the cracks appeals to me... and House Tagge fell through the cracks once. You're making sure it doesn't again."

"No, mister Raijin, my experience was nothing like that. In my younger days I was told stories of my family's once great Company, when it played a major hand in the big boys playgrounds and even destroyed competition while barely lifting a finger. I watched a run-down, watered-down family and company continue to dwindle more and more the longer it took me to grow up. My daddy cared about his wife more than anything, and I was left a batch of employees, ghost warehouses, and half the credits our family had in its prime. Not entirely a lot of money to just spend wherever I want, but enough to throw life back into it. The difference is I watched the destruction of the only thing my family ever built and cared about, Raijin. The question is do you want to help me put life back into it?"

She looked over his application once more, then glancing at him. "If you do want to help, your affiliations with the Sith can no longer be public. I won't tell you to to leave your organization, but I operate out and away from the Sith. I can deal with the Sith, in business here and there, but I don't want affiliation with them. It's bad for business. Also, as a public model, I'd have to request you get a less menacing body, egen if only for public appearances. TaggeCo can create a droid of any design you prefer, at no charge. I can at least do that for you. But these are my terms, I hope you understand why they are my terms. Do you accept?"

Raijin let out his usual metallic sigh. This woman was both playing at feelings she probably assumed he didn't have, and telling him things he already knew.

"My affiliation is with Eclipstica, and the academy I am attempting to build. Nobody can do much more than hint at the fact that I am one of the rulers of the Kingdom. I can deal with that... But this droid body is easily hidden. I habitually wear clothes anyway, so every part of me except for my head is normally covered. If children can get used to this face, your public should be able to."

He shrugged, leaning back in his chair a bit. Yes, he thought he was right to argue that point. Removing himself from his former bodies had almost killed him. It was a bit too delicate a process for him to relish the idea of having to do it on a monthly, or even weekly, basis.

"I do like speeders, though, and I do like the idea of helping you. I'll just, um... dress up."

"It's so incredibly easy, mister Raijin, to create a modular body. If it comes to it, we'd remove the piece you're attached to and make it modular, allowing it to be plugged into any compatible droid body. The modular device could be safely guarded with special materials, ensuring your survival... I assume it would work, yes? Since we aren't tearing your... Shard piece out, just removing the piece of machinery it is attached to from the body. Still, if you can make yourself presentable, I will have no issues. I just don't want our buyers to think they are talking to a droid and not someone who can be spoken to, reasoned with. Understand? Well," she leaned up from her chair, laying the paperwork on the desk and looking over to the shard.

"Before I accept you onto the payroll, we need to acquire some of the old businesses, if you don't mind. If you have soldiers they may come in handy... Some are just hostile take overs, some are very hostile take overs, and some are just taking the 'abandoned' sign off the window"
