Description:
As part of Aurora Industries's Project Galvani, the Behemoth Tank Droid is the first droid developed by the company that uses their Sianium technology. Powered by four Si-Cryo Hybrid Cores, working in tandem, the droid has plenty of energy to power its impressive set of features and be a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield.
Armed with two heavy laser cannons as arms, two mortar launchers on its back, and two deployable anti-personnel rapid-fire blaster cannons, the Behemoth is suited for many different combat roles, including mobile artillery and heavy fire support. Tested against vehicles, the laser cannons and mortars are able to produce sufficient damage on par with other vehicle based weaponry.
The Behemoth droid uses a combination of composite radiation sensors, as found in droidekas, and sonar to find its targets and discern its surroundings. Extra servos are utilized in the legs to counteract the weight of the droid, also allowing it to move across most every surface except things such as ice. Magnetic and anchor clamps are able to deployed from the feet so the droid can stay in one place on most any surface. The Behemoth also sports one more unique feature, that being a deflector shield generator, which allows the droid to take even more punishment from enemy forces than its turadium armor plating normally would.
The droid does have a few weaknesses. It is heavy, big, and slow, so an enemy force will see the Behemoth coming and have time to prepare something for it. The joints of its legs are also partially exposed, and if damaged, the droid cannot support its weight and will be stuck in one spot. It is also susceptible to EMPs and ion weaponry as most droids are, and its shield is unable to stop slow moving solid objects such as rolled grenades. The shield also has a weak point at the top of the sphere that can be penetrated by an enemy.
