The Roche Shipyard
It was a simple matter, really. Their backs were to the wall, pressed into a tough position by the continuous press of the Sith assault forces. It was to be expected. Their ability to divine the location of Crina showed that they would do anything to solidify their power over the galaxy. Such was to be expected. It was also why Mason had never liked any Sith. They disgusted him. He'd seen the holo-recordings of what they'd done at Crina. That wasn't order, it was anarchy.
Now, though, with their backs to the wall, they had to make moves. The Sith had just cut off their ability to supply the southeastern half of the Republic. Split in two, anarchy and chaos had befallen much of their territory. Had he been in charge, this would never have happened, but he wasn't in charge, he was only in charge of part of the fleet.
"Status?"
"All systems nominal. Reversion in two minutes."
The plan was simple. Rather than allowing the entirety of the Republic to fall, they would re-establish a connection through uncontrolled space between the Sith and the Mandalorians. They would solidify a military hold over Roche, and restablish connection with the rest of the Republic. Mason was personally looking forward to blasting the Sith out of the sky each chance he got.
"Reversion in 10!"
Outside he watched as the blue-whiteness of hyperspace began to dissipate and elongate into simple pinpricks of stars. Before them was Roche. This should be a simple mission, but last he'd heard the Republic navy had lost contact with the vessels that had been securing the shipyard. An Avenger-class was under construction in the yard, and a contingent of frigates and corvettes that were guarding it had gone silent.
As they reverted from real space he saw why.
"Distress beacon! Coming from the station! They've been boarded by unknown hostiles, and the defensive ships show signs of the same!"
"All ships, shields to maximum. Send a burst back to Admiral Lash and inform him of the situation."
The Revenant, one of the newest ships in the Imperial arsenal, was a bristling Epicurus-class Star Destroyer, built to take and dish a pounding. Accompanying it: 2 Lancer-class Frigates, still some of the best anti-fighter ships. Behind them would be coming the force that would bring their fighter craft to the fray, but they hadn't been expecting any major trouble.
"Sir! The defensive ships are turning on us! Scanners detect shields online and weapons charging! And sir-"
Mason looked at the scanner station.
"The Avenger is online and following suit."
Hmm. That would be interesting, then.
"Push forward. Weapons online. Sound general quarters. Whoever has taken over here is about to learn a lesson the hard way."
