Belfry, a teasing nickname for his towering stature, is the child of a halfblood witch and a Tund sorcerer. His mother kept him on Dathomir until he was seven years old, before the Sith Empire took control of the planet. The infight between the Mandalorians and Sith meant the planet was no place to raise a child. His status as a male child also meant he'd be relegated to either being a slave or at best a servant. Neither fate his mother wished for him. Instead she shipped him off to live with his father on one of the last starships leaving the planet before the Sith blockade was established.
His father met him on Junkfort Station, the gateway to the Centrality, and together they traveled home. To Tund. His education began immediately. Initiation into the specific sect that his father belonged to always began at a very early age. From the moment they could walk the members of this cult were taught to compete, scheme and conquer their way towards victory. Whether that be stealing food from the mess hall to crossing off your rival at the lecture rooms.
Belfry came at a disadvantage. His mother didn't teach him mischief or treachery, neither trait a boon in the Dathomiri culture. His father did everything he could to hone skills that simply had no instinct in Bel's being.
Once he got older and the Sith Empire collapsed he went back to Dathomir. His mother's tribe was nowhere to be found. It might have been decimated or she might have moved on. There was no way for Bel to know. This meant his father's sect was all the family he had left in the world. So Belfry returned and applied himself even more. Natural treachery did not come easily to him, but studying did. For one reason or the other Belfry seemed to have a very sharp knack towards working with the mind. This assisted him with competing against his fellow acolytes, because while it was still difficult to lie?
It was easy to work against plans he already knew about.
Now comes the next test.
Join galactic society, apply the lessons taught there and come back to Tund with more power than he had left with. Only then would he truly be considered a Sorcerer. Only then would he be allowed to follow in his father's footsteps.
