Velok the Younger
When I Was A Young Warthog
OOC/ This is a training mission for ORC new recruits, though all ORC members are welcome. I won't be DM'ing this thread, and don't wait on me: deal with the infiltration as you see fit.

NIGHTHUNTER PORT
SVOLTEN
The Coalition's capture of Velok's ship on Arcadia revealed the Whiphid Sith's connection to Nighthunter Port, on the distant world of Svolten. Deep in the ancient Sith worlds, Svolten does not answer directly to the Dominion or to the Resurgent Empire, but reaching it required careful navigation nonetheless. As some of Velok's revealed plans involved criminal activity on Arcadia, an ORC world, Judges and other agents of the Coalition have been dispatched to infiltrate Nighthunter Port and learn what can be learned.
Acting openly would be very bad, and probably pull down Resurgent Empire or Dominion attention of a most serious kind. Therefore, this mission is undercover. Find any clues to Velok's location, tools, and further plans. Watch out for Qo'saarai Tuk'ata and Whiphids.
OOC/ Feel free to invent and foil nefarious potential plans in which Velok might be involved. Some things you could find:
Creations - Materials Alchemy
Svolten Rhyolite Whetstone
Velok's Ritual Knives
Jen'itsukut Butcher Knife
The Red Amulets
Creations - Biological Alchemy
Tyuksleen
Locations
Keleth, spaceport of Ashas Ree
Ascalon Mining Centre, Bheriz System

NIGHTHUNTER PORT
SVOLTEN
Name: Nighthunter Port
Image Source: Screencap from Skyrim: Dragonborn
Classification: Urban Center
Location: Svolten, Svolten system
Affiliation: Nominally self-governed. In practice, Nighthunter Port has usually answered to one Sith or another. Just a practical reality in the backwaters of the Stygian Caldera. Recently, the city council has answered to Velok in secret, though this may change if another Sith steps in to claim the prize.
Population: 75,000
Demographics: Standard Outer Rim milieu. 30% human, 15% Twi'lek, 5% Gran, 10% Rodian, 0.01% Hutts, 5% Weequay, 10% Klatoonian, 1% Elom, 1% Aqualish, 1% Dug, 1% Zeltron, 1% Chagrian, 1% Qo'saarai Tuk'ata, 5% Arcona, 13.99% assorted others
Points of Interest: The city is built around a series of rhyolite mines built into a cliff. The city's walls surround everything -- houses, mines, and starport. Nighthunter Port has a flourishing black market with good offworld contacts: alchemists and their intermediaries are always willing to barter for high-grade rhyolite and the knowledge to use it properly. Coincidentally, the port's black market is a great place to get a bargain on a cheap alchemical sword, though you have to know someone who knows someone.
Description: Nighthunter Port is a sleepy mining city focused on a rare mineral called rhyolite. Unique to Svolten, rhyolite has a variety of unimpressive industrial applications, enough to keep the mines mildly profitable. The oldtimers know, however, that rhyolite is also an indispensable part of the rituals that create the greatest Sith swords. As a result, small amounts of the highest-grade rhyolite are often set aside and sold on the black market. Nighthunter Port is one of the largest urban centers on Svolten. Most of its buildings are prefab, made of local trees or rock, or constructed inside silooth carapaces.
Outside the city walls, most of Svolten is snowy waste. The walls keep out the occasional Sithspawn -- nighthunters, silooth, and the occasional terentatek.
History: There have been rhyolite mines on Svolten for anywhere from six to thirty-six thousand years; sources vary and accounts conflict. Nighthunter Port is built on the ruins of older settlements, though not many. The great mines were elsewhere, and are now exhausted, made into tombs. Nighthunter Port, in its modern incarnation, was constructed around 830-835 ABY, to meet the needs of the Moridin- and Varanin-era Sith Empire. It fell off the map, largely forgotten, during the Republic's annihilation of the Zambrano regime. Since then, Nighthunter Port has kept its head above water through sale of rhyolite, which has some industrial uses but is fairly unimpressive in most respects. The interstellar black market has contributed significantly to the city's survival.
Intent: To help flesh out the ancient Sith worlds, and as a gamepiece for TSO's Domains system.
Links: Svolten rhyolite whetstone - goes over some of the obscure canon involved.
