Beneath the Howling Stars

Eyes of obsidian stared at the stars above, her pale face a mask as the Darkside rolled off of her in waves. The days had turned to weeks, months, and then years and now she was hardly the woman she had been when first she woke up in this new age. Darkness festered in her heart and the voices ate away at her sanity; she was a ghost of the valiant woman she had once been.

Looking away from the stars she continued along the beach, the light of the moons above dancing in her red mane. The hem of her ebony skirt danced across the soft sand as she walked just outside of the oceans reach, its constant roar setting her at ease. The ocean was one of the few things that still the voices of the souls writhing within her, it calmed them and gave her a bit of clarity.

Onyx eyes glittered as emotion flitted across them, red lips turning upward in a smile as dark energy crackled around her. The energy took on a physical manifestation as the ocean's roar suddenly changed. While smiling she began to sing, the souls within her stirring at her words and adding to her power. Black veins slowly darkened beneath her pallid flesh, the very air alive with her voice and music.

"I hate you for the sacrifices you made for me
I hate you for every time you ever bled for me
I hate you for the way you smile when you look at me
I hate you for never taking control of me

I hate you for always saving me from myself
I hate you for always choosing me and not someone else
I hate you for always pulling me back from the edge
I hate you for every kind word you ever said
I'll bleed you dry now"

Zaiden walked opposite the woman, unbeknownst to either. Eyes on the waves as they rolled in, the potential to destroy everything evident in their heavy thundering. Zaiden had spent so much time trying to become something better, someone his sister could love, a person that others looked up to. Attempting to purge himself of the darkness had left him falling even deeper into her loving embrace.

Even after meeting so many he would grow to love, the darkness had become a part of himself. Down to his deepest core. He could not outrun his own inadequacies, nor would he try to anymore. Why did he need to be something else? Shouldn't they love him as he is? TTo protect those he had attempted to love, he had become more powerful. Earning the respect of an entire Faction. Claiming the reins of the Fringes most powerful Legion. Becoming a reborn God.

But nothing made him feel he had achieved enough. No one ever seemed to be happy with anything he did. He would never be enough...

Then screw em all. He would burn everything.

The veins beneath her skin seemed to pulse as red electricity crackled along the length of her arms and from her finger tips. Taking a deep breath she sighed as the salted air soothed her, but in the distance she could hear a storm brewing. Thunder rumbled far in the distance and obsidian eyes slid closed, for just a moment. As her eyes slide open once more she saw lightning in the distance and a smile cracked her lush lips. Once again she began to sing as the air around her came alive with the drums and guitars, all meshing perfectly with the roar of the ocean.

Zaiden's energy flowed about him like a hurricane, amplifying the already forming storm. His hair whipped back and forth as the sand spun around him like a small twister. Unconsciously his hands kept clenching then unclenching, to the point white could be seen along his knuckles. Fury was beginning to become a true ally, more so then any real corporeal form he called a friend. Every moment that passed found Zaiden darker then before. Allowed to stew in his own juices for to long, he couldn't deny that his true next step wasn't purging the darkness but instead to truly embrace it.

A grin that would chill an ice demons heart slowly spread along his cheeks, it would be a pleasure. He wondered what he would choose as his final leap...maybe the death of a loved one or the death of millions...so many options..
