HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Iron Cavalry was formed by Elias Calore shortly after his ascension to Alor. He sought to bring together the Clans stockpile of Basilisk War Droids into a cohesive iron fist, capable of breaking any battleline, and with the ability to operate in every battlespace imaginable. Much like the Si'kayha of the Enclave, the Bes'aran are elite soldiers of Clan Calore, drilled in every manner of combat, and made to learn their mounts inside and out; they're able to fill almost any role in battle: cavalry, skirmishers, scouts, frontline combatants.
Basilisk War Droids have long since been used by the Mandalorians as terrifying weapons of war, used to devastate armies with overwhelming firepower and achieve victory in a fell swoop. When the Jedi Knight Revan forced the Mandalorians to destroy their war droids, Clan Calore refused, and instead jealously guarded theirs, secreting them away to various hidden compounds away from watching eyes. Most of these droids were well maintained over the years, treated as the companions that they were, but over the millennia, time wore on, and the Clan suddenly lacked a use for these weapons. The majority of the droids were deactivated and put in long term storage, carefully watched and eventually forgotten about.
Until the Second Great Hyperspace most of these droids languished in storage, until they were brought out by Elias Calore and would eventually go on to form the bulk of the Iron Cavalry after it creation

Even more respect is given to the Mando'ade who is given a freshly made war droid, as Beskar is ever harder to come by, and the Calore stockpile dwindles further with every beast.
