Description: During the waning days of the Confederacy, there was work beginning on the project known as HYDRA, to create an advanced droid platform. However, due to the situations within the Confederacy during that time, this project was put to the wayside in order to focus on rebuilding the fleet. The HYDRA program was pushed forward to make an advanced droid control combat platform as the centerpiece for an elite squadron of combat droids. The HYDRA unit is the leader of a group of 12 units, including the command. Using an advanced combat computing system, which includes an intricate systems of antennae and transceivers, the HYRDA is able to command all 12 bodies within its squadron, working from the 12 different data streams of information. Additionally, this system allows for commands to be sent to each unit from the command unit flawlessly. Standard droid units will be retrofitted and aligned with the HYDRA's unique signature.

The HYDRA droid is created from a Cortosis-weave Armorplast, which will sustain it against most lightsaber and blaster shots. Internal systems are covered in an agrinium mesh to protect against electromagnetic, and ion attacks. Its body was created around a central power core with power cables extended through its body in an effort to absorb forms of electrical combat, including Force lightning. This system will generate power for the internal core, but if too much energy is taken, it will overload the unit, causing the HYDRA to shut down. On top of the concept of overloading the internal systems with energy, the HYDRA units are also streaming a massive amount of data when fully linked to its partner droids. It is possible to interact with the droids in a way that will overclock the internal system. Finally, due to the size of this unit, they are slower and heavier than most droids, resulting in a weakness to mines and well-placed high-explosive and anti-armor rounds.

Designed as a bipedal combat unit, the HYDRA unit is able to be armed with all manner of BlasTech offerings, as they are supplying the contracts to the ASA for their weapons.

Movement: Bipedal
Armaments: Unit is able to be armed with a variety of weapons, primarily working with BlasTech weaponry.
Misc. Equipment: In an internal compartment around the waist of the unit, is stored 50 meters of high tension cable that can be used to tie down targets, or be used with a grappling hook for ascending buildings. In the left forearm is a retractable arc welder, while in the same compartment on the right forearm is a space for either a flamethrower, stun cannon or wrist rocket launcher.

This is the initial tech sub I used to create @Prime.
If we are going with Besh Prime being an upgraded/alternative unit, some of the things would remain, but the rest is open. I would recommend keeping the top bit, Intent, Manufacturer, Production, modularity, etc etc.

Note: Haor Chall is part of the Santhe Group of Companies, so we can break into that as well.

We can change the history.
ANd if you have a preferred medium (cortosis, phrik, beskar, etc etc) I'll help with the thread requirement for it.

Our small arms, personal gear and weapons are provided to the faction by Browncoat Arms (formerly Czerka) and BlasTech.

For the Hydra Droids, I obviously use the Geth for the images, and think it would be interesting to branch them out a bit.
Prime himself was sort of based off a Legion and the Geth Juggernaut/Prime.

Depending on what you're looking for it, development could even being up a Geth Hunter (Shielded and cloakable)

The HYDRA-Besh program was initiated after the success of the original HYDRA program. The command and control features were duplicated, but new miniaturization processes allowed the whole package to be housed in a smaller frame, allowing the creation of a droid that was competent as a unit commander and could serve as an infiltration droid, depending on the need.

Designed as a bipedal combat unit, the HYDRA-Besh unit is able to be armed with all manner of BlasTech offerings, as they are supplying the contracts to the ASA for their weapons.

This is one possibility. I might be more interested in going the other way, using the Geth Colossus and being a large HYDRA droid that is meant for siege warfare....A third idea would be using the Geth Pyro...cause fire!!!

I dig this one.
I made Prime/the Hydra Project off the Geth Juggernauts/Geth Primes because they're big units that can take a beating. I may make a point to give Prime a shape-shifting ability off of one of Ty'rel HOlding's plans.

Doing a flame unit or the seige unit could be used for a minor to limited production as well. If you've got the concept in your head, go for it. The pyro may not need to be a commander just just... fire

Though I could just NPC some forces independent of my PC in the ground front...*goes off to think*

I'm sure we can make it work. I'd want to do a Dev thread for it, just to show we have done the work. With [member="Besh Prime"] are you having the unit do the networking thing that [member="Prime"] does? Where he networks to local units to give him ~12 data streams?
 
I'm not sure, I just haven't used Besh much and I'd like to. Just tossing ideas around. I am thinking that putting Besh's program into an HRD outfitted with at least one Phade arm would be pretty awesome and usable to put forward TU interests better.

I guess it would be good to be able to network with local droids...perhaps even going so far as to maybe dev up a hostile version of HYDRA so I could launch an attack to take over enemy droids and command them?

That would be great! I mean for the way you write, and the way Besh is more of a .... infiltrator unit that Prime.

Prime is more front line and I submitted a like... chip, or *snaps fingers* semi-restraining bolt that gets put on the platoon assigned to Prime. so tis a friendly take over. We can maybe make something so that he can do a hostile take over.

I think I'd like to do an HRD body with the hostile/modified HYDRA system that will allow Besh to take over control of a tageted droid for either a unified combat solution or for instant disabling.

Alright. We can get to work on that. I'm going to tag [member="Gerion Ardik"] because he runs one of hte larger (biggest?) droid companies and may want in on it. If not, Haor Chall is at the disposal for this project. What we can do is do an NPC based thread to develop it, if we don't get an engineer character, because Marek just makes business deals. Maybe NPC a Net Zillo character as well?

I also think that I should dev up a Stygian Crystal to be integrated into my HRD body, with perhaps some nullification resin to block out technopaths...would that block out technopaths?

I'm also thinking maybe a phrik or songsteel skeleton (both are lightweight and lightsaber resistant, right?) with regular synth skin covering it...I don't think they'd allow a cortosis weave synthskin, would they?

I am not sure what the Factory will say to multiple restricted materials (Stygium/Phrik) in the unit. As for the nullifcation resin, that /should/ work, but I'm not 100% on that.

Nullification resin is pretty ambiguous in canon, so I use it sparingly in my subs. I use high-grade nullification resin to partially block various kinds of Force interference, mainly things like Dromund Kaas' aura or less-than-expert technopathy. A blast of Force lightning, a Force Crush, a skilled technopath, the worst parts of Dromund Kaas-style interference...all of those could easily overcome it. In canon, nullification resin is best used against passive things -- like blocking Dark Side artifacts' auras from affecting nearby things, or blocking Jedi from feeling those artifacts.

Do you know if there is anything I can use to dampen force powers, particularly techno pathy?
