Between the Ice

Between the Ice

TARGET WORLD 2 OLVAN
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: SCOUT FOR USEFUL RESOURCES BEFORE PURGING
SECONDARY OBJECTIVE: TRACK AND SECURE CODENAME "OWARI"

These were the words that came on the main scouting parties information network display, the Horde had come to the frozen world of Olvan for two things, the advanced scouting parties to log the world before its destruction. And to find a man the horde had heard rumors of, a power that had awakened in this galaxy recently and it was just their luck that hunter teams had tracked the man to a world they planned to destroy. The plan was fairly simple, track the movements of the man and when he was cornered ask him to meet with Dredge. In fact in secret Dredge himself even showed up to the mission to hunt the man, posing as a Yuuzhan Vong hunter the cloaked team of force dead warriors pillaged and looked for the entity for weeks until they seemed to have tracked him to a small fishing village outside of the planets capital

With the snow storm in full swing the cloaked Yuuzhan Vong trudged through the snow and ice as they neared the village, god knows what the man was doing here but it seemed that their intel was leading them here. Once they got there they would know but until then they were to continue to move through the white out until they reached the village on this god forsaken planet. Dredge would burn this world but first he would take the one useful thing from it.

Three small kids cuddled in a corner, whimpering with slight quakes of fear as Nar'Vash ate the food in the fire-lit primitive building. The adults stood watching, hoping he was pleased, not because they were kind. They hoped to live. Though the armor clad man was oblivious to this, or at least seemingly so, as he ate his meal quietly and efficiently. The planet was one he had decided to visit just for the sake of knowledge, but it seemed useless and pitiful. He considered ravaging the village, but decided against it. Standing up, he dropped a few credit chips on the table for whatever worth it would be. Picking up his saber off the table, he turned to the door and left. In the snow, he started the couple hour trek back to the space port to take his ship and leave. He had seen all that was necessary to be seen.

Once the three man team made it into the village they quickly took to the roof tops of the small buildings, running and searching they looked for their target. Owari was what they called him for they did not know his real name. All rumor had it that it was a beast from the ancient times. A time where the Vong flourished. But again that was only a rumor, they wouldn't know until they actually got hands and eyes on their target. As the cloaked Vong jumped rooftop to rooftop they searched and searched for the man hopeful that they would find him to study him question him and possibly convert him to the true way of things. Chaos.

Standing atop the villages local bar the Vong looked through the snow storm to spot a tall lumbering figure exiting a home. That was him, they didn't have a picture to base him off but that was more or less their man. It could be felt in the way they saw him. Watching the man walk around more than likely headed of world the Vong decided to act quickly.

Leading his hunters Dredge ran towards the man only the sounds of their large feet crush the snow could be heard. Only their footprints could be seen since they could not be sensed through the force. [member="Nar'vash Ver-Sha"]

It took less than a second to recognize the sound and within less time than that, Nar'Vash had whipped around and his sickly green saber was lighting up the snow, which instantly began to cascade up around his back, forming a large shield held up of Force and snow. The overarching cast of the snow shield reflected his saber's light even brighter around him, casting a large area in green, creating an effect of eeriness. The saber hung in his hand skewed directly from his body, which stood upright in its full form. His voice boomed out across the snow. "Who are the foolish souls that dare approach Nar'Vash Ver-Sha, the one who rose from the depths of ancient times, the one who has outlasted almost all life of his time, the one who could end you without a second glance? Do say, who are you?" He was more than ready to destroy all of the approaching figures as he didn't want to linger on the planet longer than necessary.

Gathering around the compacted snow barrier the Vong hunters did not raise their weapons or throw a plasma eel, they simply encircled the barrier and looked at it up and down. "We are not your enemy! We are here to bring to speak to our master!" One of the Yuuzhan Vong hunters said to the figure behind the barrier. They weren't here to kill him at all, in fact they needed his talents and knowledge if they were ever going to succeed in burning this galaxy to the ground they needed this being.

Stepping forward the disguised Overlord spoke to him, "We are not here to fight, if you but lower your weapons and power we will see to it this meeting is worth your while." Giving him the offer dredge stepped forwards and rubbed his hand upon the barrier of snow and ice. "A power like yours should not be wasted on this planet." Speaking again he backed up slightly with his cloak still activated keeping him invisible

Snow was still flapping around to and fro around his feet. His gaze cast around the group was slow while he determined his survival chance if things got awry. Stepping out of his semi circle of snow, he approached the one who last spoke to him, his height trumping the figure. The words that came from him were calm this time, not with relaxation but more of confidence, "Your attempts to attack me would be wasted anyways. It would end with many dead Vong and one living Dathomir." Despite hating what he was, he was a Dathomir, under the mass or armor that encompassed him. "What is it then, that you want? Why were you fools sent to find me? Perchance,did you think I was a fun experiment to poke, or are you working for the witches? If you answer the latter, you shall does regardless, but I will hear you now. Speak." With a loud thump, the snow falls back to the ground once more and his saver's green aura fades with a zap, though it does not leave his hand.

Chuckling slightly Dredge loved the moxxy this man possessed, he didn't want to kill him or experiment on him. He needed him alive and sane for what he needed. "No, I do not wish to kill you for petty witches, I do not intend to make you a lab rat, I do not intend to hurt you in anyway shape or form. All we wish to do is take you to our master so we can discuss you helping us in our cause! This galaxy is corrupt, it is a mess of chaos and disorder. You are of ancient blood, and we wish to have you speak with the Supreme Overlord of the Yuuzhan Vong Dredge." Backing up slowly they showed the man they meant no harm or foul play to him.

They needed him to agree soon or the blizzard would soon swallow them up, the snow storm raged as wind blew fiercely over the tundra, even on foot in all his might he too would freeze to death in weather such as this. "We can have a ship pick us up in thirty seconds, we will talk to the overlord and if our ideals do not match we will drop you off. You have my word." Giving his bargain dredge wanted to get out of the storm quickly [member="Nar'vash Ver-Sha"]

"You are right that I am ancient, I have all but surpassed life. I am a vanquisher of witches and the ones unfit to live. Those who don't deserve life shall lose it by my hand. Being that I have lived as long as I have, I learned that, if I am to offer somethig, I expect an offer in return. What is it that your master has to offer me?" The cold had not yet touched him as the Force passively kept it off of him, but he noticed now that his own tirade of snow was gone, that there loomed a much more real storm on the horizon. He could always make himself an igloo if he didn't leave with the party that surrounded him. Patience was a strong suit of Nar'Vash. He could wait the storm out in relative comfort.

[member="Supreme Overlord Dredge"]

"That is for my master to offer you, not me." Speaking again he pressed a button on wrist comm and a ship would soon be on their way, "You are ancient and you have my word that if my lords offer does not meet your standards we will drop you off at the nearest space port." As the storm grew stronger and stronger Dredge could always just have a ship pick him up but he wanted this man to come with them rather then let him walk into the distance to go be one with the storm on some dances with wolves crap. "A ship is on the way, now we can talk out here in the cold or we can get you a warm drink and talk while he take you to the space port!" He yelled now as the howling wind picked up on the planet of Olvan. [member="Nar'vash Ver-Sha"]

Tired of having to raise his voice, the snow shot up around them in an opaque dome, protecting the entire party. "Very well. I hope you don't mind the dome. It is more comfortable than the elements currently." His sarcasm was dry and rather humorless as he moved to lean against a wall. "How is it that I became known of to your men? I am not worried of this. Just curious.Looking at the side of the dome he strained to Look outside and see if the ship was close by.

[member="Supreme Overlord Dredge"]

"That is not my position to know, the ship is on it's way." With a roaring boom the ship came down from the skies above. Perching down a few feet away from the barrier the small coral skipper opened up and was ready to go. It flew the colors of the overlords personal ship. It was a rather good looking ship to say the least and the overlord himself would be inside of it to discuss business. "My lord awaits you." Dredge said as he and his hunters re cloaked and walked through the force barrier to stand by the entrance of the ship. The only things that would let them be seen was the snow that pressed against them to reveal their large Yuuzhan Vong forms. "After you!" Dredge said as he yelled over the winds and snow. [member="Nar'vash Ver-Sha"]

Letting the barrier go completely, Nar'Vash treated through to snow and into the ship. His boots clanked against the ship with an assertive tone. Considering it rude to do otherwise, his saber returned to his waist. Away but within easy access as need be. From what he knew, there hunters were not related to the CIS in any way. This could make a valuable ally. Both to him and them. Though the Dathomir took no notice of the ship's colors as they held no importance to him at that moment. "Then take me to your leader."

[member="Supreme Overlord Dredge"]

Inside there was a empty black throne and by the throne were two Yuuzhan Vong elite warriors just as tall and perhaps even more muscular than the ancient one himself. Following behind him Dredge stepped forward with his men and watched as the door closed behind them. "He's right here." Taking off the heavy mask of the hunters the Vong walked over to the seat and sat down in the throne. Showing the many tattoos he had across his face it was clear he was the Yuuzhan Vong overlord and he had been playing the ancient one. "Welcome to my ship." He said as it sprung to life and flew into the air

"Get this man a drink." Waving his hand dredge had a worker caste Vong approach the man with a hot stimcafe beverage that was the equivalent of a cup of coffee. "Please drink and we can discuss matters. I am the supreme overlord Dredge, and you must be Nar'Vash. I must say you are bigger than I expected. So I will be clear and to the point. I need your help to burn this galaxy asunder. It has become a mockery and must be cleansed." Giving him a serious look he awaited his retort

[member="Nar'vash Ver-Sha"]

Nar'Vash merely glanced at the drink, but took it in his hand, his gloves chinking softly against it. "I am definitely of no small stature. Much of who and what I am is thanks to the ones responsible for making me. The ones I attempted to destroy over 1,400 years ago..." His voice trailed off harshly with a small amount of anger. Collecting his emotions again he then decided to appraise the request f of 'help.' "I am interested in you fanatic ideologies. Though as I have said before. What is it that you offer me? I have the potential to be very valuable to a cause such as yours," his eyes travel to the armed guards for a few moments, but his mask keeps the action hidden, "But I need, shall we say...motivation."

[member="Supreme Overlord Dredge"]

Tenting his fingers Dredge sat in his throne and smiled at the mans willingness to help him in their quest. "Well a man in my position has many things to offer. Men, women, weapons, ships, money. Really it's all up to you on what you want and what I can realistically give you." Having one of his worker caste give him a drink dredge took it and took a solid drink of the beverage. "Tell you what, I could use a strong sturdy commander for one of my star destroyers. You may keep it and use it as you please but when you are called upon for battle you will come to aid us. My men are loyal to me, not you." Giving the man the offer of his own personal star destroyer dredge wished to see him on his side "That is unless you can find ten thousand men to crew it for you then by all means the ship is completely yours."
[member="Nar'vash Ver-Sha"]

An interesting offer for certain. Nothing displeasing about it really. Giving aid would be no issue for a prize such as this. "Very well. these conditions meet my satisfaction as I assume they yours. I have one other request. I want exactly nine men. Highly trained men. Ruthless and loyal. Savage and civilized. I want these men to know no master but I and they only listen to my command. And the race does not matter. Simply the most skilled men you can bring me. This request along with the original deal shall grant you my services whenever it is called upon." And to this he would remain true. Arm for an Arm. Knowledge for knowledge. Power for power.

[member="Supreme Overlord Dredge"]

"Wonderful then I suppose you won't mind if we take a detor to your new ship." As the small coral transport made a sharp right up into orbit Dredge smiled and would gift the man with what he wanted. "I will see to it that you are given the best men I have at my disposal." Sighing happily he chuckled abd watched the liquid in his glass tilt uphil as a sign that they were leaving this frozen little world. "So Nar'Vash I'd like to welcome you to the horde. You seem like you will be a great helping hand to us here and we have been a bit short on staff as of late. Commander wise really." Passing the time with conversation the ship completely passed the small planet up to enter the black void that was space. The fleet wasn't too far and they would be there soon to deliver dredges end of the deal [member="Nar'vash Ver-Sha"]

Keeping his talking cordial, Nar'Vash responded politely but also in a very directed manner. "I am glad to be of service. The things you need to know about me are as follows: I am just over 1,400 years of age. I kill when killing is needed or when I am told to kill. Commanding troops will not be difficult due to my rather...developed thought pattern. Aside from that, I Look forward to the ship." With the rest of the conversation being semi-petty subjects, he waited until they met with the fleet.

[member="Supreme Overlord Dredge"]

Pulling out of hyperspace around the planet Aurum the Horde fleet encircled the once hidden world. "Well I suppose we should get you to your ship then." Flying towards the ships the small coral transport flew into the hanger of the Ranator class star destroyer and parked itself. Hopping into the Yammosk system dredge sent a few orders to the ships commander to tell him he was being transferred. "We are here, the bridge has been notified of the change In commander and the ship is yours. Have fun." Dredge said as the gate lowered into the hanger of the massive ship. It was all his now and all he had to do was take it for himself. [member="Nar'vash Ver-Sha"]

"And I shall expect thee men here in orderly time. We will be in contact. Once I have settled in, we will be ready for full use. Take care." The next couple of hours was spent discovering the ship with a few questions asked to those in certain areas, he learned all the necessities. Then finally he walked onto the bridge. "I am your commander now." Was his only announcement as he took his seat. "Find me a group of Dathomirian witches we can destroy. Plot course andgo there."
