In times of guidance, it was recommended for a Mandalorian to take pilgrimage to the sacred grounds of Shogun. The atmoshpere of the planet, metaphorically speaking, had such potent that any warrior worth their armor would be given otherwordly revelations to to the questions they craved to be answered. It was because of this place the Mandalorian culture was preserved by Mandalore the Ultimate, this heroic deed praised by his and every succeeding generation of Mandalore.

Doubt and despair clouded Adenn's mind, uncertain what his future would be and frustrated by the state of his culture. The Enclave preserved itself on Kestri far away from the damned ambitions of the aruetiise. His quest for glory was temporary when they resigned from their crusade against the Jedi and the Alliance. And now other Mandalorians called the clans to Mandalore to try and rebuild their people to the pride they sought for. But Adenn knew this sect was not worthy nor worthy to claim the seat of Mandalore. How could they when their Sole Ruler was now absent without explanation.

So what now was the big question haunting the heir of Clan Munin.

I know I am meant more. My legacy will not be one of stagnation and unfulfilled dreams.

He refused to waste his life and training on only mere raids across the Outer Rim and Wild Space. As glorious as they can be they were not enough to sate him.

Shogun would give him clarity and resolve his doubts.

The Scion did not come alone as his betrothed accompanied him to also find answers. "It's a good thing no one has tainted this world," he commented on his surroundings as there were no signs of civilization here. There was, however, a few scattered corpses of Mandalorians in their armor across the uneven fields of crystal. It was said this world could identify worthy Mandalorians from the chaff, and would curse the latter with insanity with only death to spare them.

"If you want, you can remain in the shuttle, Jan," he did not question her strength, but he spoke from concern in his heart if this trial would punish his beloved.

MY DEMONS

How in Haran did she get herself roped?

She never saw it coming. Adenn was annoying. He was obnoxious. He had a hero complex. He was that kid in class that shot the teacher with a pea-shooter, pulled your hair and who threw tissue paper at the ceiling to see how many would stick.

But she had fallen for him regardless.

Beneath all that bravado and god complexing, beat the heart of a true Mando'ad. Beneath it all was a man of honour and, quite frankly, one that needed some overt nudging toward his destiny of taking over not only his father's current title, but also the one he once carried.

He had won her over with all his quips and competitions.

She was still negotiating taking his name if they actually got hitched.

She was the future of Beroya after all. Kel wasn't getting any younger. And it was high time a Beroya led the Clan again, instead of an Awaud. The time was drawing close that she would challenge the old confidant of Shel Beroya.

But that wasn't why she was here.

When Adenn said that he wanted to take a pilgrimage to Shogun, Jan insisted that she came along. Contrary to what even he might think, he really did need a second that knew how to handle a gun. That and, well, the quiet when he wasn't around to annoy her for odd times, was disconcerting.

So here she was, disembarking next to him as he sought his answers.

She already knew her own path. But where that would lead once she achieved it, no one knew. The Enclave had potential, but it was more concerned with self-perseverance. Those that claimed Mandalore were worse off than the pacifistic New Mandalorians of old, pretending to wear the armour, but never really filling it. What glory and honour was there in licking Jedi boots? Licking anyone's boots?

Kad Haran'gir would see the Galaxy burn for it.

"If you want, you can remain in the shuttle, Jan,"

Jan turned to look at him, her green eyes flashing dangerously before she pulled on her helmet with a hiss as it sealed.
"Like hell I will." she said. "You know me better than that by now." If he was going to start putting her on a pedestal, she'd sooner put a bolt in his Concordian head and watch his tiny brain drain out.

"I also have questions that need answering, Munin. Suck it up."

So much for being cordial and thoughtful about her. Mandalorian relationships was unorthodox compared to many norms, but they somehow made it work. Materialism did not have any place in their engagement, only ideals and common goals they wished to realize. It was simple elementary when having aligned values of what it meant to be a warrior of Mandalore. Someone with beliefs similar to the pacifistic New Mandalorian or the current Protectors would be incompatible for him as well as Jan.

"I also have questions that need answering, Munin. Suck it up."

“Yeah? How much you bet the fates will foretell you’ll take my name when we exchange our vows,” an inside joke and an honest topic for the couple. Jan worried about the complications of taking his name would disqualify her from leading her clan since she was one of the few candidates to inherit the mantle of Beroya’s chieftain. Adenn’s simple approach was to display strength and force to not have her people question her legitimacy.

Opinions were always considered, but insubordination was something to correct. It was why the position of “Sole Ruler” held little weight during the past decades since Ra abdicated the throne. Warriors rebelling against the will of the Mand’alor was to rebel against Mandalore. Such behavior ought to be expelled or destroyed.

The couple began their trek, the beauty of Shogun perplexed him. The reflection of light coming from the crystals made it seem as if he were in a dream. The mountains, the flats, every inch of the planet gave a surreal feeling to him with crystals littered everywhere.

“Feels like a trance, luv. Like I drunk too much tihaar or some pills,” his hand reaching out to briefly touch her arm. “Just want to make sure I’m not lost or whatever,” was his explanation before returning his hand to his side.

“Check out those caverns. Let’s take a peak…unless you’re scared of the dark,” that would probably earn him a punch to the arm.
