' Challenge and adversity are meant to help you know who you are '

// Location // Gehenna Fleet, Space
// Focus // Jyon Hlervu Jyon Hlervu
The repurposed 9th Fleet formerly known as Gehenna under the Sith Empire moved across the space spanning between the New Imperial Order and the Sith Empire. Following the Siege of Mygeeto, some of the New Imperial Order's personnel assigned to Mygeeto had been pulled in order to bolster new fronts being set to stage further strikes into the Sith Empire's territory. Their smaller numbers allowed them to be more strategic and harder to predict where their next attack would be directed at. Amidst the brig of the fleet's flagship The Baal would reside captured personnel of the Sith Empire, among them the Sith Knight Jyon who was held within a small ray shielded cell, a pair of New Imperial Stormtroopers wielding blasters loaded up with Yossubi Gas, unafraid of the Sith Knight knowing with confidence that her powers over the Force would not pose any danger or threat to them because of the gas, even if she was locked in binders to prevent movement.
One of the stormtroopers seemed to be staring the Sith Knight down intently behind his visor as he mumbled in annoyance to his compatriot, " Why are we even keeping her alive? She's probably killed dozens of our own... " The other stormtrooper glanced over at his angered companion as he spoke, " Orders are orders. She is to be kept alive and under surveillance till she is interrogated. " His companion growled as he muttered under his breath, " Could say it was an accident, shut off the surveillance cams, say she tried to break out and we had to put her down... " The other stormtrooper nudged him with an elbow as he spoke up, " Keep it in check corporal... " The two of them would turn and face the captured Sith Knight as they held their weapons in standby, awaiting the interrogator that had been assigned to handling the Sith Knight in hopes of getting them to surrender any valuable intelligence that could be used against the Sith Empire in the war.

Jyon woke up in unfamiliar territory. The cold looking walls of the prison she had found herself was confusing at first, and she found herself wondering how she had ended up in this position. All of a sudden, it was as if her brain gave her memory a good kick, for everything began to come back to her there and then. The Battle for Mygeeto. Kor Vexen. Her lightsaber shattering. The loss came back to her in waves and threatened to overwhelm her in a blanket of dark energy. She tried to move but found her hands bound, locked in place by blinders. Her attention was soon drawn to the pair of New Imperial Stormtroopers guarding her cell. Within earshot of them, she heard the words of contempt one of the soldiers had for her.

That infuriated her and brought her up to her feet. Approaching the ray shield that acted as the walls of her cell, she stared with such hatred at the individual who had uttered the words that even if he hadn’t realised her stare on him, he would begin to feel the effects of the foreboding malevolent dark energy that accompanied the stare. She would do nothing but stare, her eyes locking with his through his helmet. Brave as the trooper might be, chances are fear might already be seeping into him. Since she could do little else, it was only good to have her fun toying with little soldier boy.

The stormtroopers would watch as the young Sith Knight came to, watching her seeth in anger behind the ray shield as the woman walked up to it. The trooper who suggested inflicting harm on her would stare back nonchalantly before turning to his partner, seemingly unaffected by her attempts to influence him due to the Yossubi gas cartridges he was carrying creating a Force Null barrier around him. An equalizer of sorts to bridge the gap between those who were gifted in the Force and those that were not. His friend shook his head as he muttered under his breath before speaking, " These Sith thinking they own the Galaxy... I'm glad I decided to defect from the Sith Imperial Legion. " The other stormtrooper just stared back at the Sith Knight before speaking up, " Kark it, I'm gonna hit her. If she keeps staring at me like that I'd rather just spend a day in a cell myself. "

The stormtrooper took a step towards the cell as he deactivated the shield and readied himself to strike her in the face with the butt of his rifle. As he pulled his arms back to wind up the hit, a sudden chill seemed to run down his spine. His rifle was sent flying at the Sith Knight, only for the barrel to be grabbed from behind, the armored gauntlet of Vexen firmly grasping it in place as his vocoded voice spoke, " No...That is not how we conduct ourselves... " The Anzati would wrench the rifle out of the stormtrooper's hands as he held it to his side, " You are relieved of your post... Leave us. " The Anzati handed the blaster back to the baffled stormtrooper as the two both quickly cleared out of the brig, leaving the warmaster with the young Sith Knight.

Vexen stepped into the cell, towering over the woman as he raised his hand up, an unseen hand unlocking the binders around her hands as the heavy metal casing unlocked and fell to the floor with a thud, his hands coming up behind him as he held them behind his waist, staring in silence as he observed her. He sensed the emotions brewing within her, reading her like an open book; she held much potential, but it was unrefined and sloppy.

Her stares seemed to have gotten her desired result as one of the stormtroopers became affected enough by it that he approached her and deactivated the ray shield, leaving her cell wall less. It affected him so much so that he was more than willing to strike her right there in the face, and she presented herself even more so, as if wanting the soldier to give in to his hatred and fear, even at the expense of hurting herself. The dark side still remained a malevolent force around her, and its thoughts continued to swirl within her mind. The moment she continued to wait for did not arrive, which surprised her at first, but the wave of dark foreboding presence that clashed against her made all the sense she needed to know. Kor Vexen. Of course. He briefly disciplined the troopers before dismissing them, and soon enough it was just the two of them in the room. Jyon found herself in a familiar position, once again looking up to the Anzati General.

She watched amusingly as he released her hands from her binders, leaving it to full to the cold hard floor with a heavy thud. The silence continued as he observed her. The Sith Knight had no clues about what he had in store for her. Was it still right for her to be called a Sith Knight? Her lightsaber destroyed, her allegiance torn. What was she really now? A renegade, a traitor, an outcast? Whatever she may have remained up in the air, for who knows what fate may have in store for her? Jyon had never really believed about the concept of fate and destiny before, and perhaps, this would be a good time to start believing about such things. Fearlessly, she asked the Sith Lord. “So what is to become of me? What am I now?”

He stared down at her as the two were silent between each other for a moment, deliberating the possible outcome of the encounter as Vexen stepped off to the side, his hands remaining behind his waist as the young Knight was the first to break the silence, asking what her fate was now that she was in the custody of the New Imperial Order. His vocoded voice would speak, " What is to become of you? What are you now? These are not questions a woman of your caliber and skill should be asking Captain. Even as a Sith pawn, you should know better than to take whatever is handed to you. You must seize whatever opportunity or path you wish to take with your own hands. The pursuit of strength is one achieved by one's own resolve and strength, lest you become a fool incapable of defending yourself when the time requires you to fight. " He turned as he unclasped his hands from behind him, crossing them over his chest as he stood off to the side of the door as if offering her a proverbial path to take.

His voice continued on as he spoke, " You can return to your life of anonymity amongst the Sith, with a chance of execution for fear of the Sith believing you have become a spy of the New Imperial Order; executed like the many commanders they had killed under fear of believing they would defect. " He paused glancing away, giving her some time to consider the thought for herself. Vexen thought back to when the Sith attempted to arrest him for treason back on Bastion following the Sith assembly; it was the weak's right to fear the strong, and the Sith Empire had become a shadow of its former self. The galaxy was to be culled of the weak so that the strong may inherit it in Vexen's vision of the future. If the Sith Empire truly had anything left within it, then the battle of Mygeeto was indeed a forboding omen of things to come.

Jyon found herself chided once more, memories of her time as an officer in the Sith Imperial Legion ever fresh and present in her mind. It was difficult not to, when the Anzati general continued to refer to her as her former military rank. She saw some form of sense in his words. A Sith was supposed to grasp what power they desired for themselves, yes. A Sith needed to do many other things to claim what was theirs. But unlike the Sith Lord’s indomitable presence in front of her, was she still really considered among the ranks of the Sith? Doubts of her identity had long crept into her mind since the loss of her lightsaber and disappearance from the ranks of the Sith Empire. She knew what the Empire did to traitors. Suspected traitors were not spared from such a fate.

She knew how meticulous the Sith were in rooting out any potential spies and traitors and her insignificant self returning unharmed from New Imperial Order captivity would be highly suspicious with good reason. The fact that she knew no one high enough in the order of command to alleviate such suspicions meant that her fate was a sealed one.

The only thing waiting for her upon her return to the Sith Empire was being arrested for possibly being a spy, despite any claims otherwise. What would quickly follow would be her execution. Her life in the Sith Empire was over. This much she was certain. There would be no going back. “There is no going back. My life in the Sith Empire is over. This much I know.” Stepping a few steps back from the Anzati, Jyon stretched and limbered her muscles as the tension in the air dissipated. There was now some light in her path forward as dim as it may be. “Yes. I see what I must do now. A new beginning. The New Imperial Order is my way forward.”

Vexen stared at Jyon as she shifted off to the side from him. He was never fond of those who associated their worth to an organization or creed; but for the young and misguided, it was only natural - she would have to learn and adapt in order to overcome the natural hierarchy and order. Vexen's voice echoed as he spoke, " You must broaden your horizons Captain. A lightsaber does not make a Jedi or Sith. It is their creed that dictates their fate, and their creed will destroy them. " He turned his back to the young woman as he held his hands behind his back. " The Imperial Knights, crude as they may be in their resolve, could use someone of your caliber within their ranks. Your background within the military as well as your connection to the Force is something they seek. "
The Anzati warmaster turned back to the young woman as she spoke about starting anew and resolving to join the New Imperial Order, as opposed to just walking free and starting a new life elsewhere. He offered a singular nod of acknowledgment as he turned away. The New Imperial Order had already struck a decisive blow to the Sith Empire with their offensive along the Braxant Run. With the establishment of a foothold in Sith Imperial territory, the true campaign to fragment the Sith Empire was at hand; and with blood in the water, any other major power in the Galaxy was likely to seize the opportunity to lay waste to the Sith. A new chain of predator and prey had been made within such a short span of time.
" If that is the path you wish to take, then ensure that you perform your best Captain Hlervu. Make use of what you can do best, and achieve the future you wish to claim. The Force is a tool to be used and wielded by the competent and worthy - not those who have their judgments clouded by ancient and archaic practices and orders. You must adapt and evolve. This is a new galaxy Captain... If you fail to keep up with it, you will be left behind. "

Jyon tried her best to fight back a grin as she was lectured by the Anzati Sith Lord. The harsh but true words of Lord Vexen brought back memories of a time long past under the military and it was a nostalgic one. The subject she was being scolded about may have been different, but the harsh tone and unforgiving words were no different. She simply kept her head tipped slightly down, no different from a child being scolded by their parent.

However, the mention about the Imperial Knights caught her attention and curiosity right away. She’d heard them briefly mentioned here and there in passing but had never had the chance to learn more about them. As a former Sith Knight from the Sith Empire, she was very curious to learn about her New Imperial counterparts, especially if she was to potentially join their ranks. Unable to help herself, she did not hesitate to satiate her curiosity with a question. “What are the Imperial Knights? I would like to know more about them. How does one join their ranks?”

The sighting of a new possible path into her future cheered her up significantly and gave her a burst of motivation for what was to come, despite not knowing much about what was possibly in store for her in the Imperial Knights. She didn’t even want to consider the fact that she could not end up joining them, but she supposed that joining the military could be the very last option. Second changes did not come often, or at all to many, and Jyon was determined to make the most out of it. Adapt and evolve. She had every intention to take the Anzati’s words to mind.
