Big hunt, little hunter (SJO)

Location: Kashyyyk

Time: Early morning

Bright lavender eyes marveled at the sight of the forest in front of her. The massive wroshyr trees at the end of the landing pad stretching high into the sky. She had never seen anything like this on her home planet of Quigos.

Tika only had a few moments to stare in wonder, before the rest of the crowd began to disembark from the shuttle. The poor girl was almost pushed down the ramp by the crowd. Most of the beings probably didn't even notice her there. Standing at just barely two feet tall, she could be easy to miss.

Clutching her stuff, she scurried down the ramp and off to the side. The last thing she needed was to be trampled before her journey even started. She watched the crowd of bigger beings pass before hurrying across the landing pad as fast as her small legs could carry her. The young Quigling was here for a purpose, first to find the Jedi. Tika was force sensitive and had been sent her parents to train in the ways of the Force. Second was to partake in a great hunt and send the trophy to her father.

The main problem, right now, was finding someone to help her with both problems. Not at the same time, though. She partake in the hunt first to at least get it out of the way to focus on other things. Spotting a small group of people near the entrance to the temple, Tika made her way over to them hoping they could help.

Tika slowed down as she approached the group. She was both nervous and excited. "H..hi, can you help Tika?" Her big lavender eyes looked between each person there. "This one needs help training with the Force. Tika was also sent to partake in a great hunt."

Ura stood at the outside of the group, listening to what they were saying, and keeping her waterdog Ger'Off under control more than anything. It was honestly a pretty normal day for her. She was still trying to learn how to interact with the others. She had heard some ships flying over, but didn't pay them much mind. At least they didn't until Ger'Off started barking, and ran off towards someone. She quickly made chase, "yelling" the pet's name in her monotone voice. It was too late though as the waterdog went to give his own, slobber filled welcome and tried to lick the newcomer. The sand-like being quickly pulled the waterdog away, trying to calm him down.

"Sorry. He tends to like new people."

[member="Tika"]

The welcome she received was not the one she expected. Sounds of barking caught her attention. She turned just in time to see a six legged, dog like creature almost as big as her a split second before it knocked her to the ground. The creatures wet tounge tried it's best to lick her face.

Tika laughed at the creatures excitement, all the while trying to push the animal off her. The animals excited greeting was cut short as his owner pulled him away. Still laughing some, Tika sat up and looked at the owner. The being caught her somewhat off guard as her lavender eyes took in the sand-like person. This was a species she had never met before, then again she really hadn't met many other species.

"Tika doesn't mind. It's good to make friends." She stood up to her full height of two feet and gave Ura a smile, showing off her sharp rows of teeth. The Quigling held out her hand to Ura. "This one is Tika Raya."

The Force around Ura carried her happiness through it. She let out a monotone chuckle as she gave Ger'Off a pet, then looked at the newcomer. The Lervon listened carefully as the being explained she was happy to make new friends, and was surprised at how short she was. She also noticed that, like her, the small person in front of her didn't quite talk in a way others would call "normal." Ura then heard her say he name, [member="Tika"], looked at she had extended her hand. The sand-like being extended her own, and speaking in her monotone voice.

"It's nice to meet you, Tika. I am Ura, Ura Iolar, and this is Ger'Off." As if on cue, Ger'Off let out a bark, and began panting.

Tika shook Ura's hand. Even then she could feel that the being wasn't organic, or at least that's what she guessed. That didn't matter to the little Quigling as she listened intently to the beings monotone voice, as she introduced herself. She gave a small laugh as Ger'off gave a bark when he was introduced.

"Tika is happy to meets you!" She tilted her head to the side some, as she curiously looked up at the Lervon. "Are you a Jedi? This one was sent to find the Jedi and train with them. She was also sent to partake in a great hunt. So she can bring honor to her father and his pack."

This day, Sigyn had got a day of from training, and decided to use it outside. The nature always calmed her, even if she was just outside the temple. Which she was today. Not wanting to og far from the temple, in case something exciting happened, she stayed Close to the entrance. There were some Groups of other jedi standing around, but not big enough to make Sigyn uncomfortable. Nevertheless, she chose to not join any of these Groups.

It seemed a Shuttle had arrived, bringing New learners, messengers or others who had business With the jedi. It wasn't an unusual sight, so Sigyn didn't give it much thought. She instead leant on the spear she held, and looked at a lake nearby, getting lost in her own thoughts.

But she was snapped back to reality when she heard the mention of a 'great hunt'. She hadn't been able to hunt since she left Midvinter, and there had been moments where she had longed for it. She looked around to see who had mentioned it. It took a moment before she saw the small creature who had said it. It was a species Sigyn had never seen. She walked over to where this short person stood talkign With another padawan. "Um, excuse me. I heard you mention a hunt. Are you planning one here?" she asked.

A large yawn escaped the Seoulian girl as she took large strides to keep up with the much taller woman beside her. It may have been early morning for most, but the pair had been already training heavily through the rising of the Kashyyyk sun. Charlie was determined to learn and to be the strongest in the Order, so she had a tendency to pick on much larger targets. [member="Sigrid Forsberg"] was the usual victim to the sweet cake fueled padawan challenges also didn’t help Sigrid that Charlie was quite fond of her and her company.

“One day I want to be able to use one giant hammer. Would be so cool, just wave it around on the battlefield – I wouldn’t need to carry the shield anymore.” Charlie grinned as she moved her hands as if she was waving an invisible giant Warhammer in the air to show Sigrid how powerful she would be. Following the hand motions of the excited padawan came the sound effects of woosh and boom along with a couple of explosion sounds.

Even though she had grown a few inches, she was still towered over by the Valkyri, looking up Charlie smiled. “I got you pretty good a few times, you don’t okay with the heat?” Digging in her pouch she offered the red headed Ranger her flask of cold water. As she handed it over, Charlie glanced towards a small group collecting in front of them. “Huh, what’s going on up there?” Charlie waved as she shouted, “Hello!”

Tika turned at the sound of a voice. A human female walked over to them, and to Tika's surprise, she was carrying a spear! The Quiglings bright lavender eyes widened some at the sight. Maybe this one was a warrior, or even better, a hunter.

Her eyes fell back on the new arrivals when she asked about the great hunt. There was no surprise that others had heard her, Tika wasn't exactly quiet about it. She gave a big smile and nodded. "Yes! This ones trying to go on a great hunt on Kashyyk. Although, Tika doesn't know where to go or what to hunt. First time here, well...first time off home planet."

A distant greeting made her turn to see two more beings approaching. The one who had shouted was waving at them. Tika waved back, wondering if they had also caught wind about her hunt she wished to undertake.

As per usual, during off hours, the 'dwarf' attempted to challenge Sigrid in various bouts of strength, from hauling logs to arm wrestling. The girl barely came up to her waist, yet she was able to keep up with the powerfully built Valkyri with inhuman strength - hence her nickname.

After a day of such feats, now it was time to tackle a contest of a different kind: chow time. Charlie wasn't only content to try to best Sigrid on the battlefield, but at the dinner table as well.

Those poor cafetaria workers, she could already imagine their groans when they saw the famished pair stroll into the dining hall.

"No no, never underestimate the utility of a shield."

The Ranger had probably slayed just as many opponents with her shield as she had with hammer and axe. There was nothing more satisfying than a good shield bash that crumpled armor like a pretzel. Rarely did she go into battle without one.

"Sometimes a good offense is a great defense."

Charlie offered her a drink, but Sigrid shook her head, patting the large water bag on her hip. The muggy weather of Kashyyyk was still uncomfortable for the arctic loving Valkyri, but she had learned to acclimate without her suit, practicing good habits like proper hydration.

Along the way to the temple, they came across a motley collection of individuals gathering at the front. As per usual, she towered above all present standing well over 2 meters tall.

"Hej!" she greeted all a wave and a big smile.

It wasn't everyday that found Rome nearing a Jedi stronghold. Not that he was an enemy, but he preferred to keep his distance. Life had taught him many lessons, included in those lessons was a distrust for the Jedi hierarchy that had grown stagnant in their morality, choosing to follow a lazy code that shielded the Orders from the deeper meaning that should lay at the fore thought of every Jedi.

Not that he had any dealings with this particular Order, just seemed like a prudent plan to keep his nose out of business that wasn't his own.

Course the hunched form that stood barely over a meter in a half that rose on achingly ancient legs next to him reminded him to why he was here. Yargarawwaa was nigh five hundred years old, well past the venerable elder age bracket that most wookiee passed into the Force at. He had met the ancient over two decades earlier and owed the mottled grey wookiee a debt. Not quite a life debt that Yargar's species were known for, but a debt nonetheless.

As the shuttle landed and the other passengers disembarked he stood next to Yargarawwaa and offered his arm for the elder to grasp if he so desired. A rumbling growl emanated from the shallow grey chest causing Rome's face to widen into a craggy grin that showcased his worn face under a growth of stubble.

"Yes Yargarawwaa. I shall leave you to your own devices. I swore two things to you. One I would aid in your return and two I would complete the hrrtayyk and unlock my rrakktorr proving that you were aided not by an outsider, but by one possessing the inner strength and fire of a male wookiee."

Yargarawwaa turned and offered a long yowl that ended in a keening, mournful moan. Rome patted the elderly hand that gripped his forearm with a heft and strength that belied the age of the wookiee.

"Well you're no spring chicken yourself. Don't worry, I'm not as decrepit as I look. I will see you soon old friend."

Yargarawwaa gave a hump of amusement at Rome's use of the word "old" before moving from the ramp into a cluster of wookiee waiting for him expectantly. The man folded his arms across his chest and allowed himself a moment to watch the homecoming before turning his green eyes to several youthful 'Jedi' who were speaking to fellow passengers from the shuttle.

As he watched he pulled the Force in to narrow his own presence and feigned a look of disinterest. Just an older gentleman that was wearing dark clothing, a slugthrower on right hip and a sword on his left. A curious trinket of what appeared to be either a replica of a collapsible telescope, or the real deal, from a bygone era hung from his belt.

A wry grin remained on his face as his interest was piqued at the idea of a 'hunt' that might coincide with his second promise to the ancient wookiee.

Charlie took back her flask and happily guzzled down some more water. She was hungry, and the water would hopefully hold her over slightly as they arrived with the group. Having caught wind of the hunt prospect, Charlie raised an eyebrow and tucked her flask away. “A hunt? Sounds exciting.” The padawan chirped happily as she has never gone on a proper hunt that wasn’t searching for some baddies. “Are you trying to bag the biggest thing on Kashyyyk?” Remembering she needed to introduce herself, she pointed to herself, “I’m Charlie Nooran, I’m a padawan with the Silver Jedi.” A hand gestured toward Sigrid, “This is Captain Sigrid Forsberg – she’s with the Antarian Rangers.”

A beaming smile spread across the Seoulian’s face as she introduced her friend. It was a nice feeling to have friends, especially one that had the same interests – such as bashing things in with a hammer, axe and shield.

Thinking about the possibility of the hunt, Charlie remembered what they originally were set out to do before coming upon the small group gathering. There were several cafeteria workers that Sigrid and Charlie needed to terrorize, but the thought of a hunt shoved aside her hunger for the moment. Especially since usually after hunts from what she’s heard, there’s a feast that follows. The thought of a large animal roasting over an open flame had the padawan salivating. Looking over at Sigrid, Charlie face had it written all over that she had a plan going in her mind – which usually meant there was a challenge to follow.

The competitive little dwarf mused over her possible winnings, “Sigrid, have you gone hunting before?” The padawan inquired, she needed to make sure she could win this before putting it all on the line.

Tika turned to [member="Charlie Nooran"] and gave a nod "That's right! Tika is going to hunt the biggest game she can find. Bringing it down will bring honor to her pack."

She turned her gaze to [member="Sigrid Forsberg"] when Charlie introduced her. Tika's lavender eyes panned up, and up, till she finally looked Sigrid in the eyes. The little Quiglings eyes widened in amazement at how tall the Valkyri was. She shook the surprise from her face and introduced herself to the two of them. "This one is Tika Raya."
