Strengths:
- Ysalamir enclosure: A live Ysalamir is held within the cargo hold, living a cramped existence attached to a nutrition system which also keeps the creature in a shallow coma.
- Extreme speed: The scaled down dual triple ion drives on each engine of the podracer give this vehicle an insane amount of forward speed.
- All Engine: due to the bare-bones structure, the independent engines provide excellent maneuverability and precision turns.
- Duraplast Lining: this podracer is highly resistant to EMP & Ion weaponry
- Durasteel: this podracer has a thin coating of durasteel which allows for modest defense against physical attacks and debris.
- No Retreat: it is not capable of reversing, a full turn must be made.
- Light Armor: physical attacks have a high chance of doing serious damage
- High Risk: The triple ion drives can explode if hit with an explosive causing an even larger explosion
- No Animals Were Harmed: Ysalamir will be unlikely to survive the full duration of a podrace and at the least it will be dead at the end.
A new, widely talked about Podrace caught the attention of Valdus. The prize is apparently 1,000,000,000 credits! Unable to turn away from that prize, he figures his experience as a star fighter pilot would help. He also likes swoops and had piloted them before so a podracer is no big deal right? Pulling together his resources and spending the last of his money on parts, he cobbled together the Big Jaro. The Big Jaro uses two triple ion drives to yank the podracer forward while repulsor lifts keep the Big Jaro afloat. Valdus attached two old DLT-19 's to the front of the capsule in order to throw out blistering blaster fire at those who are in the lead. A deflector shield, duraplast lining, and durasteel shell keeps the Big Jaro from kicking the bucket in the first ten minutes of the race, but will not keep the podracer from exploding under heavy sustained assault. Due to race rules Valdus had to spend a fortune on a Ysalamir and equipment to keep it in stasis. The likelihood is that that critter will be dead after the first race.
