STRENGTHS
The Binary-class Star Fortress was both a colony and a command ship, operating as the base of operations for the free droid commune known as the Droid Cooperative. As such, the ship operated more like a space station than a starcruiser. The ship was controversial for its weapon emplacements, the one known instance of the Cooperative arming itself. While critics of the project decried the armament as indicative that the group was just another violent droid uprising, the Cooperative asserted that its purpose in arming the ship was defensive only.
Whatever the case, the Cooperative had the means of both defending its home base and relocating it, as the ship was equipped with hyperdrive capability. Due to the high demands for power consumption by the all-droid crew, a series of solar collectors were deployed to off-set power generation requirements. These solar collectors had to be retracted before the ship was able to make the jump to lightspeed, else the inertial forces would cause structural damage during acceleration.
Intended as a place for droids, operated by droids, the ship had almost no capability for entertaining organic lifeforms. A fact that the droids similarly made no apologies for, preferring to interact with organics in other venues or stations.

STRENGTHS
- All-Rounder. The ship was not particularly notable in any one regard. It wasn't heavily armed. It wasn't heavily shielded. It wasn't the fastest ship of its class. And its hangar facilities were mediocre. But, by the same token, it wasn't lacking in any of those areas either, presenting a balance of offense, defense, propulsion, and hangar facilities.
- Advanced Systems Suite. The ship used Sasori technology throughout. As a result, it boasted exceptional com-scan capability for processing sensory input data.
- By Our Own, For Our Own. The environment on board the ship catered specifically to the needs of droids.
- Prepare to Move. Intended to function as a colony command post, the ship needed time to prepare for transit -- such as retracting the solar collector array before the ship would be able to make the jump to lightspeed.
- Wide Turns. Low maneuverability.
- High Energy Bills. Hosting a colony of machine lifeforms, the demands on the power grid were high on a daily basis, leading to brown outs and recurring maintenance issues. Bringing the shields and weapons online necessitated prioritizing consumption and de-powering non-essential systems.
- Your Kind Aren't Welcome Here. There was a nominal life support system in operation, which maintained a pressurized and oxygenated atmosphere, but temperatures tended to be chilly. Similarly, the nourishment synthesizers on board were intended and programmed to cater to the nutritional needs of Saotome biots rather than the more complex dietary requirements of organic life.
- All Volunteer Defense Force. Type 4 droids made up the smallest population percentage within the Cooperative, a fact that was most apparent in the small size of its starfighter defense. While there were plenty of droids available to repair or maintain the ship, the number with the proper programming to defend it was a far smaller number.
