Little Fool
In the end, I decided to extend my stay on New Cov far beyond what I'd originally planned. An unexpected offer came my way, and it's exactly the kind of opportunity that piques my interest. A golden chance to take advantage of an unforeseen situation. Who would've thought? Certainly not me.
My steps are steady and deliberate as I walk through the dome, eyes fixed on my datapad to guide me. According to the map, I'm headed in the right direction. Perfect.
Soon enough, I'm standing in front of the imposing headquarters of a large corporation. Here I am, in Ilic City, in the middle of nowhere, and this building belongs to the NCBC—nothing less than their main headquarters. I enter and make my way to the reception desk, setting my invitation card on the counter and sliding it over to the receptionist with a confident air.
"Yes, hello. I have an appointment with Lady Liin Terallo for an important meeting. Could you direct me to her?"
I'm not late; I still have five minutes. Punctual and well-presented, I want to make the best possible impression. Still, I feel a slight unease, as these corporate mega-structures aren't my preferred terrain. But I'm here to learn. If she can make me someone competent, then I'm willing to pay the price—even if it means selling my soul to the devil. My ambitions are too high to hesitate over this kind of shortcut.
Well, shortcut… can I really call it that?
I flash a polite but faint smile at the receptionist, retrieving my invitation card after the verification is complete.
Liin Terallo
