Black Market Dealings

"You're disgusting you know that?" Five-Eight said. Varashaal looked up at him as he pulled on a shirt. The clone wars era commando Droid stood in the doorway scanning Var's messy quarters. Var smirked.

"What you call mess; my dear droid friend. I call projects." Vara said as he walked past the Droid and towards the cargo ship's exit. The Droid followed with a blaster rifle slung on it's back. Upon exiting the ship, Var would be bombarded with the sight of sand and townsfolk going about their everyday trading.

Var sighed. "I'm gonna have fun cleaning out the sand from your circuits aren't I?" Var said sarcastically. The Droid just chucked as it followed.

Var and Five-Eight began scouring the markets, buying selling, and trading parts. Soon the whole market was gone through.

Var frowned. "Hm I feel like there's more to it. We can't just be scrounging ship and droid parts all day everyday." Varashaal said. He looked to his droid's blaster.

"I think I should branch out. But I don't know crap about blasters. Sis never taught me that much." Vara said as he continued walking.

"Let's go get a drink one of the locals said something about a cantina not too far from here."

"Gonna try your hand at flirting with people again?" Five-Eight said.

"I told you! I wasn't flirting, I just thought his datapad could use a software update." Var said blushing.

The Droid chuckled. As they made their way to the small cantina.

Upon entering the Cantina, the duo would notice. That the Cantina was nearly empty. Var took a seat in a booth that was in the corner of the Cantina.

"From what the local said, it should be buzzing with activity, but not even the bartender is here.

(Sorry for the shorter post)

The door swung open and slammed against the wall shaking many of the decorations on the wall. A Rodian flew through the doorway and slammed his head on the bar. Jax walked through the door, metal leg clanking.

"Not so talkative now eh? What happened? you gone mute or something?" Jax said laughing as the green Rodian attempted to stand.

He grabbed the Rodian and continued to beat him bloody. After smashing a glass over his head, the room light up awash with a red glow. Jax had ignited his lightsaber and held it to the Rodian's throat.

"Now you my friend are going back that Hutt suck up and tell him no more warnings, or im gonna pop your slimy green head off and make it my new center piece."

He dragged his victim outside and walked back in lighting a deathstick. He noticed [member="Varashaal"] for the first time.

"Who the kark are you?! I tell them to lock it if they're gonna leave every single time they do this. I assume you aren't going to mention what you just saw to anyone? Can we skip the whole death threat part I've had a long he said, deathstick hanging from his lips."

Out of nowhere a Rodian flew through the doorway and slammed his head on the bar. Varashaal was about to get up, only to stop as a man walked in after. Var, chose to stay seated as the altercation between the two played out. Var's eyes lit up at the sight of the red hued lightsaber. He hadn't seen one up close before, and was interested in how it worked.

Varashaal noticed the man threatened the Rodian harshly. It reminded Var of his slave days always being told similar things by his masters. He shook off the thought when the man dragged the Rodian away.

Five-Eight turned it's head to Var. "Be careful Vara."
Var nodded, it was rare for Five-Eight to tell Var to be careful, so he listened to the Droid.

Soon the man walked back in and confronted the duo. Var listened closely to the man as he spoke, he scanned down the man's appearance. He didn't look much older than Var. But his presence was that of a hardened criminal.

"I'm Varashaal, but people usually call me Var or Vara." Var said nervously.

"And no I wont mention anything about what just happened. My-my lips are sealed. I was actually just here to trade a few things at the market. I'm a scavenger." Var said.

Var looked at the deathstick that hung from the man's lips. Then stood up. The pair were the same height which made it easier for Var to look him in the eyes.

"I see you have a lightsaber mind if I see it?" Var said as he looked at the man's saber.

"Touch the saber and my day gets a little longer", Jax said walking behind the bar.

He began pouring himself a drink, but stopped just as he head it up to swallow, "Where are my manners."

He slid the drink over to [member="Varashaal"] and poured a second one for himself.

"So what kind of things you sell?" He said not making eye contact.

The criminal shrugged off his red and black flight jacket. revealing even more prosthetics and augments to his body. He twirled his cup in his hand for a second, swirling the dark liquid around, before drinking.

Varashaal frowned as the man pretty much said he couldn't see the lightsaber. But Var shrugged it off pretty quickly. He followed the man as he went behind the bar. Var took a seat at the counter and accepted the drink.

"Well I sell-" His sentence drifted off as Jax took off his flight jacket to reveal all his augmentations. Varashaal's mouth fell open and his eyes beamed with excitement.

"Woah.." he said as he set his drink down. His eyes wandered over the tattoos that covered one of his arms then over to the prosthetic arm.

"Amazing. I actually haven't met someone who had cybernetic enhancements. Not to this extent." He pulled out his datapad and began taking pictures.

Varashaal made eye contact with the other man and noticed one of his eyes were a bit foggy. "Have you thought of replacing that eye with a cybernetic one? It would save you the trouble of not seeing well." Var said.

Five-Eight nudged Var's. "You're getting ahead of yourself Vara. He asked what we sell." The Droid said.

"Oh yeah sorry." Var's said as he rubbed the back of his neck. "We sell salvage from ships and droids. I was actually hoping on branching out and selling more than that. But I don't know much about blasters." Var said.

Jax rubbed his bad eye, massaging his face, and smearing his face paint around the eye. He stared off deep in thought now, for the first time since he walked in he wasn’t moving.

“I’ve had most of ‘em since I was a kid. Katos said they’d make me stronger, keep me safe. Some are newer.” He said almost talking to himself it seemed, “You haven’t come across anything interesting lately have you? I happen to be in the market for some tech. You any good with putting those droids there together, or you just the karkhead that finds them.”

Jax noticed Var’s interest in his cybernetics. He had use for someone smart like that, and if the man was as interested in blasters as he seemed he stumbled into the right cantina.

Varashaal sipped at the drink, it's dark brown allure captivating him as Jax spoke. It was almost as if the man behind the bar was reminiscing about his past. Var wondered what the man went through.

He snapped back out of his thoughts when the facepainted man asked what he had for sale and if he was any good at putting droids together. Varashaal's face lit up again.

"I usually try to sell salvage from wrecked ships or broken droids. Usually odds and ends. That sort of thing, if you need something for a ship or droid I probably have it, and if not I can get it." Var said with a smile. "As for droids, I can put em together, take them apart, and reprogram them." Var looked over to Five-Eight.

Var looked back to Jax. "Let's just say I'm pretty good with tech."
