Koensayr strongly believes in the idea that a great defense makes for an even better offense. If one has the capability to defend themselves in such a way that they can solely focus on defeating their enemy, they have the advantage in every engagement. This is a fact that Koensayr abides by to it's core. The Blackgate shielding system is the culmination of this ideal and the brilliant minds at Koensayr Manufacturing. This singular system provides multiple shields in a layered system around the vessel the system is installed within.
The first layer of shielding is an advanced molecular shield, used to protect the starship from energy based attacks such as lasers, absorbing them and converting it into energy for the ship itself. Just below that lies the particle shield, a shield against kinetic weapons and any debris found in space. A relativistic shield is also applied in order to protect those aboard the vessel from the temporal effects of hyperspace travel. A rad-dampening shield is incorporated in order to protect against radiation. An atmospheric-friction shield array to protect the ship from entering and exiting a planets atmosphere. And, finally, an ion shield array protects from harmful ionic interference such as ion storms and ion cannon fire.
In order to provide the necessary power to the generator, along with it's redundant systems that kick in should the primary systems fail, advanced dedicated capacitance systems were installed. Power loop capacitors direct power from the vessels reactors core, boosting the shield arrays power, which is then supercharged by capacitor overchargers that store the power in dedicated capacitor banks built into the base of the projector. This power is then distributed to all 12 of the systems projectors(2 for each shield) by redundant power cables, giving them the constant power needed for peak operational defense. Redundant cooling cables are ran throughout the system maintaining optional temperature around the capacitance and electrical systems, preventing damage from the constant power running through the systems.
The actual shield generator is housed within the vessel and is capable of protecting ships of any size, so long as the ship is large enough to house the generator. The generator itself is protected by an array of ray and particle shielding, giving it a solid defense from attack. Beneath the shield lies the quadanium steel exoskeleton, providing a durable wall of protection. Beneath that layer is a layer of agrinium, holding the radiation from the core within.
This system was heavily based off the Delphus.4 shield system made by Mon Calamari shipyards but seen as an improvement by investors.

- Layered Shielding: The Blackgate shield system provides multiple layers of different kinds of shielding. The amount of coverage is impeccable. Shields provided include: molecular shielding, particle shielding, relativistic shielding, rad-dampening, atmospheric-friction shielding, and ion shielding.
- Vornskr's Heel - Due to the generator being housed within the ship, it's projectors must be spread out throughout the ship. These projectors pose as weak points in the ship's hull, giving the enemy clear objectives to strike.
- Difficult To Repair - The system is very complex and full of redundant systems. While this aids in keeping it working far longer than other systems once damages the ship must be docked in a certified Koensayr Manufacturing Shipyards Slip for repairs.
- Power Consumption - Due to operational power requirements, vessels utilizing the Delphus shield system require power normally dedicated for weapons. This limits the offensive capabilities of the ship slightly.
- Size - Due to the size of the generator itself, it must be held within a starship of at least 2500m without having to remove other facilities within a ship to make room for the generator.
