Strengths:
- Very maneuverable: exceptional both in space and atmosphere
- Hidden weaponry: Neuranium shields the weapon compartment and a small cargo space behind the pilot. Most scans will show an unarmed vessel.
- Firepower: two slots open at the front of the forward wings to permit the repeating cannons to fire. These can tear through fighters with ease and seriously threaten light capital ships in a run.
- Hard to strike with missiles. Sensor Jammers and superior agility make it touch to strike.
- Overheating weapons: the powerful cannons can overheat if fired for too long due to being well contained. Less of an issue in an atmosphere.
- Twitchy controls: take some getting used to and handles very differently inside and outside of atmosphere.
- No missiles for beyond line of sight engagements.
The blade class is remeniscent of both the classic U-Wing and X-Wing designs. At first glance it would seem unarmed. S-foils are fixed and have maneuvering thrusters instead of cannons on the tips. The powerful main engines are situated around the cockpit and give this craft a good thrust to weight ratio. Each of the maneuvering thrusters can fire forwards or backwards, allowing the pilot to pull off tight turns.
The vessel is in fact exceptionally armed. The forward wings of the vessel are shielded against scanners and contain a pair of heavy, repeating cannons. These have a phenomenal power output and can tear through shields. They produce a stream of bright blue fire and have a distinctive high pitched wail.
A canny pilot can use this vessel's superior agility to find an advantageous position for a run for a devestating burst of cannon fire.
