Blind leading the Blind

Chandrilla. The world had existed before, but Voph had paid little attention to it. It was a Republic world. It seemed a nice place, though. Voph didn't intend to stay here long. Just long enough for the ship he was traveling on to resupply. Which left him with a day to explore. And so he did just that. The capital city was certainly a wonderful place, but....Voph was bothered by a nagging at the back of his mind. There was something here. Something the force wanted him to see.

That's when he heard the first rumblings. Little more than a passing conversation between tourists. There was a tomb here. Long since destroyed, but a monument none the less. And the name. Barsen'thor. Voph immediately set out to the location of this tomb, intent to see what had become of the great warden of the Jedi.

Now he sat outside the tomb, in the small plaza that had been erected around the entrance. Voph was clad in his new armor, and thus was likely a sight to behold as he sat there meditating. Barsen'thor of the Jedi order. That was a name Voph had not heard in many years. He had always wondered what happened to him. After all, a Warden of the Order does not simply vanish. He must have been found. And now stood here as a stark reminder that the world Voph left behind was dead and gone. It was a sobering thought to Voph. And yet...at the same time, a new beginning...

Seth had his own sort of calling.. Particularly that of a ship log. It was getting near time for him to embark once more beyond this world. Though to do so, he would need a ship. With a pilot amoung it for Seth did not possess such skills. He was much closer to his element in the streets upon the ground.

Seth sorted through the lists. It had took a bit of what little credits he had to acquire it. He sifted through the logs. Up till the point a particular private owned vessel caught his interest. Private owned vessels were always easiest to deal with. Smaller crews, meant less complications. It was easier to bargain, or black mail a single person or two, than several dozen.

Of course that meant scouting. Not the shady sort of scouting... Well not entirely. Seth waited patiently, and eventually the heresay came to him. Of course it would. This world was probably the world he knew best. He began his trail after the newcomer. That is when things became weird. Seth caught his first glimpse of the man in a cantina. This man had.. An odd familiarity to Seth, and yet was extremely foreign at the same time. A heresay about a tomb.. Some name Seth did not recognize. Though his man took interest.

So, as this figures path sought out the tomb. Seth was in tail not far behind. This man seemed to keep to himself. Seth kept mostly to himself. Blackmailing was likely out of the question. He doubted he would find anything note worthy off of this guy. Though what Seth did end up finding. Was that the destination.. Well it sort of caught him off guard.

Seth blinked and wandered into the plaza. While he felt a familiar energy flowing around this place. He walked to the window and stared at the enterance. "Whoah... Who?" Seth finally spoke. To himself mostly. In fact now he had forgotten what had brought him here in the first place. Maybe it wasn't even the man he was meant to see. Maybe, it was this place? His old mentor didn't teach much about the force. Though he did teach Seth just enough for Seth to understand it was an entity much, much, much bigger than a tool.. It was... Well... It was a force. It drove things, and flowed through everything.. This tomb was no exception, and boy did it flow here.

Seth figured this individual had to of been important. How? He did not know. He was street smart, not an academic genius. This tomb would of been a place. He could of seen his old mentor coming to hold a session of private meditation. For a number of different reasons. Which is why Seth was so transfixed with the place. As he got lost and closed his eyes. Merely enjoying the familiar flow of energy that washed over him. Loosing track of what was happening around him, for the first time, in a very long time.

Voph did not look up from his meditation. He knelt with his hands resting on his knees, head bowed, as if in prayer. "You stand upon millennia of history, child. The tomb of the Barsen'thor. The great Warden of the Jedi Order. Third of his rank." His helmet turned, looking at the young man that had been following him nearly all day. He'd not let on that he knew, but then again he was Miralukan. One did not simply sneak up on him. And an exceptional tracker at that. There was...a touch of force on the boy, making him stand out against the surroundings to Voph, but it was...raw. Untamed.

"The Barsen'thor was a great teacher, and master of the Force. I find myself honored to discover his tomb. I was of the impression that his fate had been lost to the ages." Voph stood, pulling himself to his full height almost a head taller than Seth. "But, I do not believe you have followed me all this way for history lessons from an old man. What is it you seek, child?"

Seth was enjoying himself. Finding a certain peace in this... Psuedo-meditation? He wasn't quite sure. Though he found himself loosing track of what was immediately around him. While his attention turned to what was beyond. Though suddenly his attention snapped back and he flinched. His eyes shooting to the voice who spoke. As he stumbled a few steps back when he recalled the situation, recognizing it as the individual he had tailed. "Oh.. Um.." Seth began and fell silent as the man continued.

He turned to the tomb once more. Taking a moment of silence. The person whom this man spoke of. Sounded. Respectable and Seth was not one to entirely shun the aspect of respect, where it was due. Especially, in regards to the force. He began to ponder where the energy came most from then, the place in of itself, or the person within the place? Both... If he was to guess.

Seth looked back to the old man. When the man concluded inquiring why Seth had followed him. "How?..." Seth stopped himself. "Never mind." He figured he did not want to know how the man picked up how Seth was following him, nor was it really wise. To question an armored individual. Who if Seth was to guess.. Well in honesty it wasn't even a guess anymore. He knew this man was force sensitive. It did no good to beat around the bushes. Which is why Seth's muscles spasmed as he avoided trying to defend himself, when he wasn't sure that was necessary. Besides, he highly was doubting he could hope to react quicker than this man could.

Seth took a deep breath and centered. Finally, looking up to the man who stood above him. He was technically a young adult. Though in many ways. The title kid did make perfect sense. Seth could tell this man had been places, seen things, and probably accomplished things as of the moment Seth could barely phathom in his imagination. Though that didn't stop Seth from meeting his eyes. This now for the moment was business and Seth would reply in the like of such.

"In all honesty, Sir. No, I did not originally set out here for the tomb. Neither that or the provided history lesson. Even if perhaps that was what I was meant to find here." Seth paused a moment to be certain he picked his words carefully. "In truth I tend to travel.. Quite often. I am ready to set out once more. Though I needed a ride. Your ship caught my interest. So, I set out in the hopes of finding a manner in which I could acquire a ride from you. Though my intentions would be to seek a deal if one could be struck. I was tailing you in the hopes of discovering a secondary plan. To ensure I could move from this world to wherever I was meant to land next." Seth concluded. He wasn't going to state blackmail. Though he guessed this man would of had the means to connect the dots. That would of been a possible outcome Seth would of attempted to take.

Quite, honestly. Seth did not like having to state all he just had stated. Though he had the nagging suspicion. If he had tried to pull a quick one. The man would of cut through it, possibly quite literally, almost immediately. Seth also leaned upon the fact this man had caught him following him, and waited for this specific moment to act. He decided that coming forth with his intentions at this point. Would serve him best.

Seth tried his best to supress how uneasy it made him feel to be so openly exposed. When he had spent most of his life working the streets for survival, and working them and his environment to his favor. In a single moment this man had brought the souring fact to Seth that there was people out there. Who had much more experience than he did, and sometimes tailing a private vessel's crew might not be so easy, as a routine job.

"Most individuals would bargain with coin."

Voph studied Seth for a moment, before turning and stretching out his hand. His lightsaber flew up from its place on the ground to his hand, and he clipped it to his belt. His head tilted slightly as he looked at Seth. "And by the Void, relax child. If I intended you harm, you and I would not be speaking." Voph's voice was modulated and electronic through the helmet's filter, and yet it retained every bit of his crisp Imperial accent. He chuckled quietly, extending a hand in greeting to the younger man. "Voph Sitdrisa'yr. It would seem I have been placed in your path for a reason."

Voph watched Seth for a moment longer, before folding his arms over his chest. "Though if you intend to secure passage on my ship, I would wonder where it is you wish to go, and what you have to offer as payment for passage."

Seth watched the lightsaber hop into the man's hand. Then watched in almost the same fluid motion. It get clipped to the man's belt. He returned his attention back to the man as he spoke. Relax.. Right. Seth sighed in a manner of resignation. The man had a point. If he was out to harm Seth. Seth was pretty sure his head would be halfway down the hall before it realized what hit him.. Okay maybe that was an over statement. Seth would likely see it coming, and move to react. Though the end result would likely be the same.

It definitely helped ease his mind. When Voph finally introduced himself. Seth took the man's hand and shook it. "I'm Seth Brackson. It is a pleasure, Sir." He responded. Before he withdrew his hand. He contemplated the information he was giving, and the questions he was asked.
"Devaron, Sir. Devaron is the destination I seek to find myself at next." He replied as he himself. Was unsure why he chose that location. It was merely where his conscious decided he was meant to go. "I am open to any other world I should end up on along the way. I travel a lot as I mentioned." He added as he thought.

He then focused on the question of payment. "I agree.. Currency or credits is the general means to pay off such a trip. Though I believe I do not have nearly enough of that to cover the expidenture. While I am sure you have plenty of credits in your possession anyhow. My next offer would be a payment of skills. Though I am sure you probably have me outclassed in anything I am currently capable of. Which means all I have left on the table is time." He expressed.

"I am willing to trade time. How this is done. I will leave relatively open ended. Be it you have me as a lackey, or you choose to have me accomplish a task or set of tasks. In order to open up your schedule. So, you can accomplish other things. I mean I suppose it a significant amount of faith you would need to put forth that I will uphold my side of the bargain. To a degree you determine at minimal as satisfactory. As I am uncapable of producing people who would vouche for me. However, you do not live my lifestyle and get many places unharmed. If you are incapable of keeping your word.. As, well as I assure you. I don't exactly have a death wish, and would not be naive enough to think I could double cross you, or to just leave without having repaid you in the service you deem equivalent to that of the journey."

Voph watched the younger man for a moment, then turned, and began walking back towards the city. A slow, unhurried pace. His hands were clasped behind him, save for his right hand extending to the side indicating the young man should follow. "I am not in the business of gaining servants, nor collecting debts. Such things have come...and gone." Voph turned his head towards the young man that was likely walking along side him now. "These days I trade in more...lucrative means. Knowledge. Stories."

Voph, now focusing on the young man could feel the raw potential in him. Such a willing candidate, and yet he was here, on Chandrilla, living the life of a street rat. Made Voph wonder what had happened to him. Why such potential was being wasted. "And I would wager you have much to share. How you came to this planet. Why Devaron? But...perhaps most importantly...Why are you...alone? I would expect to find an individual like you among the ranks of Jedi or Sith. Why have they not come for you? Or...why have they abandoned you?"

Seth observed the man turn away from him. Then noted the motion for him to follow. He took a few quick steps to catch up. Then tagged along in silence. While he turned his attention to the man as he explained Seth's offering was of no concern to his needs. Which sort of bumbed him out a bit. Time in his opinion. Was of quite a high value. Then again he was quite young in comparison of wisdom and had much to learn it more so seemed.

Seth listened and nodded along. Knowledge.. Seth doubted he had knowledge to lend. Though when the man asked his story. Seth nodded his head some. Not because he liked the prospect. Though he supposed a tale for a trip. Was beyond a good offer for himself. "Very well." Seth spoke calmly. While the man went to speak his desired inquiries about Seth's life.

He reflected back on his time before now. "I was not always without a mentor, or master. Dependant upon how you view such a partnership status. However, my mentor strayed from the path he was originally suppose to be teaching me, and so, he felt it was in our best interests to go on the run. He never was one to invest efforts into teaching me the ways of the force. Instead feeling like teaching me survival and knowledge of how to work the people and environment in a manner to best ensure survival. He always reinforced his decision by stating the life we had chosen did not afford the luxuries of studying such a deep and complex entity, and he did not wish for me to be brought up reliant on the force to try and solve every problem set in front of me." Seth explained and paused to let his mind catch up.

"However, to answer your question of why I do not have one now. He was struck down by a dark jedi master. Who was after me for some reason or another. I didn't ask questions. I just threw the guy into a wall in a fit of rage. Then left before he could regain his senses. Following that I shut off myself to the force for about a year or so. Well, in a way. I feel it was entirely an emotionally driving obstacle. In which I was past after that year of time. I ended up on Chandrilla one day by stoling away aboard a small frigate. At which point I decided this would serve as the world I would return to, in order to recover from whatever journeys I embarked on. I needed some place I could become familiar with the streets, in case I needed to work them beyond the basic need to live."

"Devaron is just where I feel I need to end up. I do not know exactly. In fact it never occurred to me as a travel destination. Until quite recently." Seth expressed and shrugged. While his eyes swept around the surrounding area.

Voph listened without comment as the young man explained his position. He was silent for a moment after Seth finished his story. His head turned towards Seth. "The agents of dark always covet more power. All the world at their fingertips, and it would not be enough. He sought to steal you away from your master for the benefit of his own influence. Powerful servant...powerful master." Voph turned to head towards the starport. "With all the possible respect I could muster, your master was a fool."

He gestured to the busy street around him as the two walked. "A man who deems it most important to share the ins and outs of living on the streets, forsaking the Force, the greatest ally you have at your disposal, is no true disciple of the Force. You see only people that wish you harm. To take advantage of you." His arms dropped, and his hands clasped together at the small of his back again. "You never gain the chance to see the world as it truly is. To understand the desperation and determination that such beings struggle with. To see the galaxy how it could be, not how it is."

Voph's helmet turned to Seth again. "It is not by coincidence that you seek passage to Devaron. The Force is calling you. There is something there it wishes for you to see."

[member="Seth Brackson"]

Seth listened, and softly bit his tongue to avoid making quick remarks when the man called his past mentor a fool. Not enough to hurt himself. Just draw his attention to try and listen to the man's reasoning. Which Seth hated to admit it. Held quite a bit of sensibility. If even in a term of philosophy.

Seth looked to Voph and nodded. "I will.. Think upon your words." Seth replied. As though he did not fully agree with them. Seth was determining if he disagreed with them. Solely because they flipped his lifestyle on it's head, or if it was because he could form a steady stance against the words.

Seth looked back to Voph after a moment of silence. "I see. Well I am uncertain what it is I should be seeking. From what I heard it is a heavily forested system. At least that is what some folks have said from the heresay in the cantinas." Seth replied as he pulled out three of his meditation stones and began to roll them along the palms of his hands. "Would you happen to have any insight you could provide on the matter, or will it be something I will find my way to, when I am meant to stumble upon it?" He concluded.

[member="Voph"]

Voph shook his head. "I know not what you will find. Nor would I be willing to tell you, even if I did." His head turned towards Seth again. "The Force has called you. And you alone. It is not my place to guide destiny." Voph looked back towards The docking bay, The Resurgence coming in to view as they stepped closer. "There was a time...long ago. I knew a man who faced the same trial you do..."

Voph sighed quietly. "Lost...and alone. Forsaken by all those he had cared for, or had cared for him. Left to his own devices to raise his infant child. The Force called him to Balmorra. So, he left his son to the care of a friend. And went to seek what the Force had for him. He searched the planet far and wide for months on end...And never found anything."

Voph turned back to Seth. "Aside from a realization. His love was gone. Taken from him. The only reminder of her, the infant son he had left behind. Even if the Force is guiding you to a place, do not think that it is the only place that can show you what you must see."

[member="Seth Brackson"]

Seth listened and nodded his head. "I believe I understand what you are saying." He replied calmly. While he looked ahead towards the vessel. So, it was plausible he was seeking something internally. It was equally plausible he was seeking something externally. Irregardless of the what, Seth understood now that the destination was merely a small piece to whatever the force was trying to nudge him towards. Which was a sobering thought, when he realized how deep the force was.

Seth nodded his head a little more. "I thank you for your wisdom on the matter. I will keep your words close to mind in my search." He finally added to Voph. While he walked along. Still rolling the stones in his palms. Feeling their edges and making sure they held some sharpness still. When satisfied they seemingly vanished from his hands as he slipped them with ease back to their hiding spots. Meditation stones, especially his own. Were highly undermined tools. With many implementations.

Seth settled now for following Voph. Without another word unless he was spoken to. He had asked his questions. As well as addressed the topics that needed to be addressed. Now all Seth really had left was to soak in his thoughts. As well as keep an eye on their surroundings, and make sure nothing happened.

Voph led the way to his ship, pausing at the boarding ramp. He turned, and plucked an item from his belt. He offered it to Seth. A credit chit. "Enough to buy you passage from Devaron to your next destination."

He watched Seth quietly for a moment, before turning to walk the rest of the way into his ship. "I will take you to Devaron and no further. What the Force wishes you to see is for you, and you alone. I have my own quest to pursue." He pointed at one of the closed doors in the narrow hallway that they stood in. "You can bunk in there. Ship departs in half an hour. If you've any effects to retrieve, get them now."

He turned back to Seth. "If your trip to Devaron does not provide you with what you seek, use the credits I gave you. Travel to Commenor. You may not agree with what I say...And yes, I know we have our disagreements...but I can still show you a thing or two. Something to consider."

[member="Seth Brackson"]

Seth took the credit and nodded at Voph's explanation to the amount. He would use it for it's intent. As it would save him a lot of effort trying to find passage another way. Especially considering he was only being offered a one way trip. Seth glanced to the area he would be allowed to reside in for the time being. Nodding his head once more. "Everything I generally travel with, I have on myself already." Seth responded. While he turned to Voph and listened closely to what he had to say towards the end.

Seth pondered upon the prospect. Then nodded his head a little bit. "I will consider your proprosal with deep thought. I suppose if you find me on Commenor. You will know why." He noted and hummed. While he turned and entered the quarters he was instructed to bunk in. Removing his meditation stones and staff. Then patiently waiting for the departure to Devaron.
