Aboard the Femme Fatal...

"Are you serious?!" Calina squealed, jumping to her feet and very almost hugging her mother. Almost. "You're going to let me go somewhere on my own!"

"Calm yourself, child!" her mother had snapped, but even she couldn't hide the hint of a smile that played on her lips. "There are rules to be followed, you have a strict itinerary and you will not be wholly alone. This is not a reward, it is a mission. Darth Vornskr has business to attend to that he would rather you weren't privy to, as do I. As such, you have a job to do. And Grimoire will be joining you."

Her face fell but only slightly, she'd met [member="Grimoire "]at the stupid gathering on Korriban and hadn't thought much of her. Too rigid, and far too eager to please the Masters that were surrounding her. "Oh." was the only response she managed. Calina had been pulled into a hug with a soft chuckle. "You wanted a friend, someone your own age to talk to, someone I didn't have influence over. Now is your chance to make one."

Present
Skies above Garn...

Calina's tongue stuck out the side of her mouth, her forehead creased with concentration as she lowered the little transport into Garn's atmosphere. It was a childish habit that she'd been chastised for her whole life, 'so unappealing, Calina' her mother would say, often followed by a threat to remove it. Catching herself doing it, she brought it back into her mouth and ran her eyes over the display in front of as the momentary blindness caused by atmosphere entry eased up and sensors slowly came back to life, filtering in reports across the board.

"Ugh, this is depressing." she commented. "No lifesigns, no signs of recent civilisation, even the damn trees are dead." She glanced to her companion, "getting anything your end?"

Grimoire sat beside Calina watching a sensory array of her own. "Nothing of interest at this point." she whispered, "We'll get a better lay of the land one we have landed."

What a strange scenario she found herself in. The dark young sith lady dressed in dark tunic and sleeveless cloak rose up and like a black ghost drifted towards the back end of the transport which was closed by the landing ramp. "I shall wait at the exit hatch. For our departure." This Calina was a mystery, it was hard to think she was the daughter of Anaya Fen. Bubbly and spirited, as if she was unaware of the forces that birthed her. She paused, some part of her tried to imagine her acting in the same manner to her mother, Hauntruss. She shook her head, such a happy concept was not her destiny.

Her mother understood only two types of affection - obedience and worship. And that is what she would give her.And yet, she needed allies. Perhaps this Calina would grow into a greater power someday. Only the Force knows.

Calina pursed her lips as her companion left. They couldn't have been so different if they tried. Where Grimoire was obedient, disciplined and what Claina would consider stiff, Calina was rebellious, reckless and full of bounce. Perhaps they'd wear off on one another, perhaps Grimoire would bring Calina back to earth while she would bring the stiff out of her shell a little. Or perhaps they were destined to become enemies, force to work together by powers far greater than them. Calina made a vow to herself there and then, the minute she could break free of her mother she would, and she would never become her. She would never allow herself to be bettered by those who considered themselves greater.

The landing was far from smooth, she came in too hot, dragging the landing gears several feet across compacted earth before the ship came to a halt. Still, Calina was pleased to have even survived this much, while she'd sat in the lap of the pilot of the femme fatal at a young age she'd never really been shown the fact her arts of piloting. A skill she would no doubt have to develop in her own time.

Rising with a smile, she moved to meet Grimoire, palming the switch for the landing ramp as she did. "What do you know about soul snares?" Calina asked, eager to both test her new companion and share her own knowledge.
