Blood Brings Birth

Chelline crossed her arms as a laser rifle poked at her back and motioned her to move forwards. She was at another slave trade ship getting ready for another selling. Again she was too expensive to be sold and was becoming more of a waste of resources keeping around than just killing her off. Sure its not every day a Miralukan becomes a slave, yet half blood at that. She was lined up in the ship with the other slaves, yet somehow separate than the rest. The other slaves didn't even have names while she did. The other slaves abused Chelline because she was always there getting better treatment from their trader, while everyone else treated her like the trash she was labeled as. Once everyone was lined up they were ordered to sit down in on their knees and keep their heads down, Chelline complied silently.

Slaves had their purpose.

Problem was, most folks tended to enslave the weak. It was the wrong way to go about things. Slaves should be trophies; fallen enemies forced to work for the betterment of your cause. The easily kidnapped served a better purpose as patriots, a cog in the machine. Instead they were sent to do menial labor, while their skills would have helped them exponentially in another field all together.

That was, unfortunately, the way of the galaxy.

It was by faint chance that Mephirium happened to be on Nar Shaddaa today. It was by faint chance that he felt the presence of a force sensitive being ferried down from one of the many trade ships.

His lips pressed into a thin line.

"Another one?" He murmured to himself, turning toward the slave-ship. His gaze fastened upon one of the sellers.

"That one," he pointed to the Miralukan girl, "The price?"

The slave vendor cleared his throat as he went up to the half Miralukan and put a hard grip on her shoulder, enough that any more pressure would leave a large bruise. "This one here, this one is up for trade rather than price as of right now. I am willing to take credit offers but officially as of right now I will trade her for two slaves as this one is a personal favorite of mine." Chelline turned her head away from her vendor with shame in her face. She didn't like it where she was but she wasn't afraid yet.
