- Old to Fresh: Using Ancient Sangnir Technology within the Chalice, the cup can be filled with the blood of the deceased no matter how long they have been dead and be turned into fresh blood allowing a sangnir the opportunity to drink in the midst of battle by taking blood from a dead enemy and fuel there power using the anima created. To further elaborate the anima can be used for a variety of purposes such as mending wounds and fueling brief surges of supernatural powers. Thus a person with this chalice can survive a battle much more easily because they have a steady supply of blood to drink from.
- Cup of Blood: The Blood Chalices were made to be a fuel source for the Sangnir Highbloods, allowing them to have a source of anima that can boost their natural species abilities in combat and better allow them to survive, by using the blood of their fallen enemies. These abilities mentioned include mending wounds and fueling brief surges of supernatural powers.
- Alchemy: While normally a chalice isn't durable, the Ancient Sangnir used their own form of alchemy to make the cup be more durable while in combat. So any enemy simply couldn't break it with a single swing of their lightsaber or blast it into smithereens with a blaster bolt. It is extremely rare for the cup to be shattered in combat, but it does happen occasionally due to the cup being made without proper care.
- Not an infinite Supply: The Blood Chalice might have many usages on the battlefield, the supply of blood within the cup will have to be replaced either from the blood of animals or corpses on the battlefield. Meaning that the sangnir who uses it will have to be careful as to how much they drink from the glass because they might need it further down the line.
- Breakable with Effort: While it is made with a form of Ancient Sangnir Force Alchemy, the chalice is still easily breakable by sustained weapon to it. While a single strike from a lightsaber or a single blaster bolt will not do much. If it is hit multiple times, the chalice will shatter and the sangnir who holds one will lose a vital power boost that it might need on the battlefield.
The Blood Chalices of the Sangnir otherwise known as the Blood Chalices of Vestus are an ancient technology of the Sangnir Species as a whole. The Blood Chalices were made by the Second Seat of the Sangnir Highblood Council, Vestus Aldermaine along before the rise of the Rakatan Infinite Empire and when the sangnir controlled a world occupied by early human settlers. There population not reduced to numbers seen now within the current time frame of the galaxy. Knowing that the time might arise when their thralls rebel against them in the future either from becoming addicted to much to their blood or by some other means, Vestus Aldermaine worked day in and day out to create the blood chalices to use in combat should the need arise using their variant of alchemy and ancient sangnir technology to accomplish this. Presenting his creation to the Nine Seats of the Highblood Council proved difficult as the scheming nature of the council made every decision a long debate between the seats over what should be done with the creation. Vestus Aldermaine was certainly no pushover when it came to pushing his ideas towards the council and he challenged the rest of his ilk to ritual combat to settle the idea personally. The Other Seats were more than happy to punish this man over his overgrowing ambitions, because while powerful within his own right, they thought that no one could challenge the combined might of the Councilor Highbloods in combat.
Within the Ring of Combat deep within the walled city of Teras Verin. Second Seat, Vestus Aldermaine drew his sangnir blood sword in defiance of the other seats of the council. Save for the First Seat, the most powerful of the sangnir and the uncrowned king of their species. Vestus was aware that if he was to face the first seat, he would surely lose but his creation would help all of them in the end due to his forwarding thinking. The fighting between the other seats and vestus was fierce, exchanging blows that no mortal could survive. Fueled by the power of their anima and maw they were walking nexuses of vampirism. Clashed and Clasheed they did within the ring, neither side giving up but the councilors were starting to lose their numbers. Consumed by the immense power of Vestus who fought with so much vigor that for once in their lifetime, the uncrowned king thought of him as a threat to his rulership. Vestus would not be defeated by them for he was the second seat and with a mighty roar from his lips, he cut down the last councilor with a swift swing of his sword upon his neck. With no one to challenge him in his ideals, he presented his creation to the First Seat of the Highblood Council and with his blessing began to manufacture more and more of these Blood Chalices to provide the highbloods with a means of fueling themselves on the battlefield with the fresh blood of their victims. Vestus eventually entombed himself within a crypt deep within the galaxy, as the sangnir started to fade and their once great civilization was lost as the Infinite Empire rose to power within the galaxy. Each of the Highborns that replaced the Original Seats on the Council had taken a chalice with them to the grave. As such there are only a few surviving examples of the Blood Chalices that haven't been stolen by smugglers or treasure hunters. Due to their rarity, many chalices are made in mere imitation of the great work of Vestus. One can tell a true blood chalice by the markings on the chalice itself, having been designed personally by vestus and with his personal seal, to which has been lost to galactic history.
