Princess Healer
The problem with putting children to bed early, is that they awake early, parents don’t seem to understand this. It was not Thora’s fault they would decide to stay up late and only get a few hours’ sleep. She woke fully rested and ready to confront a new day! And this morning was no different. Waking in her bed, her favourite colour blue, she turned to the window to see the morning had not yet arrived, at least it had not visited her window yet and she rubbed the sleep from her eyes as she pushed back the covers of her bed, grabbed the leg of her plush teddy bear and headed for the door.
There was only a splash of morning light filling New Himmeldal, but enough for her to find her way to Boo’s room on the upper levels. Mama and Papa were at the other end of the floor and there was not a sound coming from their room. It was bitterly cold this morning, her bare feet padding along the wooden floor in a hurry to his door and when Thora opened it, it was dark as the curtains were drawn but she knew Boo was here, he is always here.
She climbed up and over the foot of his bed, crawling along to his pillow before sliding down into the covers next to her brother. Her feet felt the smooth coils of, well it was either Coi or Azi and wrapped around the top of his head was the wolf pup sound asleep. Ooo was so pretty, all blue and yellow with his hair messed up from dreaming. Thora loves her big brother to pieces, even though he can be grumpy with her sometimes, especially when she wakes him.
In Thora’s eyes, Boo was magic, he could do magic in everything he does, a child finds magic because they look for it.
Thora lay next to him impatiently watching his face for any signs of him waking but nothing, only a slight movement under the covers and between their faces popped out Azi looking at her flicking her long tongue, Thora copied her sticking out her tongue. She giggled before bapping Azi gently on the nose until she recoiled back under the covers. Thora held no fear of Ooo’s pets, they had not done anything to her to warrant it, ever.
“Ooo?”, she whispered wondering why he did not wake. He would need encouragement.
Her small hands landed on his face, and she tried to open his eyes, “Ooo”, she said louder, “Wake up .. play?”.
