There is a set of fan-made boarding rules for a certain miniature space game that I think might be interesting to try in our own setting.
The advantages of the system as it stands are relative simplicity, an element of chance, and the card system add some interesting writing opportunities.
Some disadvantages include that it doesn't really take into account force-users or any chemical/biological weapons.
For reference, CP and AP mean "crew points" (typical sailors and the like) and "assault points" (defensive marines, battle droids, etc). A typical frigate in the game has 3 CP and 1 AP, whereas a battleship(analogous to a star destroyer) may have a 7 CP and 5 AP.
