Shiraya's Odyssey
Continuation of New Alliances...
Briana couldn't suppress the smile that crept onto her face as Valery described her anniversary plans with obvious excitement in her voice. It was heartwarming to see someone who consistently gave so much of themselves to the Jedi Order and its students finally taking some time for herself.
"Well, it's been long overdue, if you ask me," Briana asserted, leaning back and submerging herself deeper into the hot spring. The soothing heat wrapped around her, and she felt a tingling sensation as her muscles loosened under its warm embrace. "You two deserve some time to cut loose and enjoy yourselves, just promise that you'll make a lot of memories and won't spend the entire cruise worrying about the next galactic crisis that may arise. There better be more holopics than you know what to do with, by the time that you get back." She swirled the remainder of the effervescent liquor before chucking it back, languidly extending out her empty glass for one of the scantily clad servers who sauntered towards her to refill. Despite being critical of Hapes' outdated treatment of men as subordinate citizens, she couldn't deny that their alluring appearance made for quite the spectacle. The attendant's sculpted physique and exquisite beauty seemed almost other-worldly. As he attentively refilled her glass, she found herself picturing Aiden in his stead, garbed in one of those minimalistic loin cloths—a visualization that forced her to bite her lip in order to keep a purely feline smile from forming on her face.
Glass refilled to the brim, Briana took a prompt sip of the glittering liquor before her eyes panned back to Valery, watching as a smile of genuine happiness graced over her features, her apparent excitement over the news that she'd shared spilling out, and flooding through Briana. She valued Valery's opinion, almost to the same extent as one of her aunts — or even her late mother. And while she knew she'd ultimately follow her own path, not needing Val or anyone else's approval for the decisions she made, the endorsement still provided a comforting sense of relief and validation.
"Thanks, Val. It's certainly going to be a big change for both of us, but I'm really looking forward to it. We haven't sorted all of the details yet, but possibly something on Naboo. There are a few estates I'd like to explore with him - something fresh and uniquely ours that fits our individual personalities and grants us at least some privacy away from my family." Briana explained, her tone jovial, but her heart racing at the thought. Moving in with someone wasn't a topic that'd been discussed with her before, at least not the intricacies and specifics of it all. Conversations with her late mother were often marked by conflict, while her Aunt Alora solely advocated for Briana and her siblings to wed advantageously, to counter and repair the controversy that'd surrounded her parents long unwedded partnership. It was uncharted territory that evoked equal parts excitement and trepidation in her. "I know we'll get it all figured out, but... any words of advice?"
