The Space Station known as Borealis Terminal is located on the very fringes of the Grenonine System within the Expansion Region of the Galaxy. Originally Constructed by the Trade Federation of Planets during the early years of the Clone Wars, as the entire system joined the Confederacy of Independent Systems in the subsequent conflict. It was designed to be a forward listening post to monitor the activity of the Republic Navy nearby but expanded over the months into a civilian station housing an assortment of species.
The station expanded quite considerably as economic trade flowed through the system and the construction of a repair yard within the lower decks of the station soon took place for the Droid Fighters of the Confederacy. Although the station was soon engulfed in warfare as the Galactic Republic pushed its armies through the system. The Confederacy's Navy partook in a battle near the station but was defeated and forced to withdraw leaving the station firmly underneath the hands of the Galactic Republic and used as a forward command post in liberating the rest of the Grenonine System from the Separatist Governor.
Borealis Terminal was occupied by the Galactic Empire and transformed into an Imperial Repair Yard to prevent it from becoming a shadowport for the criminal underworld. Although many criminals and pirates of various species still boarded the station underneath the watchful eye of the Stormtrooper Patrols and the Security Officers. The Galactic Civil War spread to the Space Station with Agents of the Rebellion planting ideals of freedom and hope leading to a large scale worker uprising within the station and the empire was forced to withdraw as the civil war took up much of their time.
With the empire no longer in control of the station, the population quickly expanded with freighters and shuttles stopping there as they moved through the system on there way to Grenonine III and the other planets. It was eventually purchased from civilian control by Loymière Shipwright who promised to upgrade the station and handle all maintenance needs. The Shipwright brought much wealth to the station and further expansion was soon undertaken.
