Bounty Hunter Life

He wasn't sure where he was going. He only knew he was going far away. He needed somewhere where he could apply the things he knew. A place where a hunter could find decent work. Hamter rode a random ship to a random part of the galaxy. He had heard the Outer Rim was a good place to try to find work. He wasn't sure where, but he would make his name known in this part of the galaxy. He would make a name for himself as a hunter. He would be what he knew he was meant to be, a Bounty Hunter.

As the ship came to land on the planet, Hamter walked out of the ship and looked around. He could see from the banners all around this was Zonju V. He hadn't heard of this planet before. He took out his holopad and did some research on the planet. Apparently this was a mountainous planet with plenty of valleys, and with plenty of criminals. This planet was to far away from any major factions for it to be influenced by the current wars going on. As Hamter walked outside of the landing area, he looked around and knew this was it. This was where he knew he would make his fortune and make a name for himself.

As he walked around, he knew this was a new beginning. With only the two blasters on him, his cloak and his clothes on his back, this would be where it happened. He looked around and saw right where all the action in town was. There was a Cantina, and there he could see there were already a few bar fights going on. As he walked inside, their were plenty of rough mercenaries lurking about. Some where fighting, others were watching the fighting, others were just getting a drink, while a few others were in the corners, having hastily spoken conversations in whispers. Hamter knew he liked the place immediately, this place would have a bounty or two for sure.

Hamter walked over and sat down at the bar. When the bartender came over Hamter said "I will have a water." When the bartender gave him a weird look, he merely said "I like to keep my wits about me." The bartender just shrugged and went to go get it. Just then, there was a loud BANG from the front door as the door was thrown open and a group of mercs walked in. They walked over to the bar and the biggest of the bunch walked over to Hamter and yelled at him "HEYYY!!! That is my seat, my name is on it. So I would suggest moving, unless you have a death wish."

Well, here is where things began. Hamter could either move, and thus show he wasn't tougher then this guy and was scared of him, or he could not move and prove he was here for the reason. He came here to be a bounty hunter, and that meant being fearless, not being scared of anyone, and certaintly not letting some meat head push you around. So, Hamter just looked over his shoulder slightly and said "Well, no wonder why this seat is so comfortable, it has you written all over it, feels just as comfortable as if I was sitting on you with your hundreds of pounds of fat." It was true, this big merc was big because he was tall but also because he had a lot of fat.

When the big guy heard this, he turned Hamter around in his chair and got in his face and said "So, you do have a death wish then. Not doing as your told and insulting me. Those are two reasons for you to die, want to add a third before you die?" Well, Hamter wasn't having this guy get any closer. Mainly because he was worried the guy might just sit on him. So, quicker then the big guy could blink, Hamter used his right hand to make a fist and upper cutted the big guy. The guy fell back, and before he knew what happened Hamter had used his left arm to pull out his blaster and aimed it right at the guys face. He said "You know what was your three mistakes before you die. You were rude, you yelled at me and most importantly you thought you could boss me around. And because of that, you deserve this." BANG This bang had a different sound as the sound of Hamter's blaster was heard as it fired a bolt right in the big guys head. He of course dropped back dead. Some people nearby turned their heads and a few gasped. The group this guy was part of looked freaked out and even more so when Hamter looked at them. He said "You guys get this idiot out of here, I don't want some dead body ruining this cantina." So, the group got up and took their now dead friend outside. Hamter then sat back down, and the bartender came then and gave him his water.

The bartender said to Hamter "You're new around here aren't you? I haven't seen your kind here for a long time. Mainly just mercs around here, but I know you are different. Your a hunter, aren't you?" Even with him being there for just an hour, Hamter was already making a name for himself. He was quite pleased, he would be getting to places sooner then he thought he would. Hamter replied "Yeah, I'm a hunter. Just got into town, so tell me, where can a guy such as myself get work in this place?"

Bartender leaned back and sighed as he said "Well, there are a number of things you could do. Myself, I heard there was some bounty that most mercs are looking forward to. There are some "officials" in town. Some of the last people that believe they are in charge of the planet. Someone put out a bounty that if you could kill these guys, there was a 60,000 bounty on all their heads collectively. That's why everyone is here today. Having a good night before going out on a hunt tomorrow, since the "officials" will be arriving tomorrow." Well, it seems this would get interesting. A bounty everyone was going for. Would be a first for him, but he figured he could do it. Shouldn't be too hard.

Hamter decided that now was a good time to go ahead and leave and find a place for awhile to rest. He had a plan for the bounty, but he would need rest first. As he walked outside, he looked around and saw a number of buildings in the distance that seemed abandoned. Perfect, he could stay there for the night. Didn't get to hot or cold here so it would be perfect. He walked there and around sun down, he was at the base of a fairly big building. He had lost sight of any people for a few minutes now so he assumed no one came over here anymore. So, as he went inside, he looked around. This seemed to have been some office of some kind at some point. A fairly big one, considering the building was a couple floors higher then most of the other buildings around it. With that, Hamter got ready to practice for a while. He hadn't had the time to practice his shooting for awhile, and as such he wanted to catch up.

He spent a few hours practicing his shooting. He couldn't believe how rusty he was. It seemed that he would have to remember to keep practicing later on when he had more time. But, at least he got back on top of his skills and it would be more then adequate for tomorrow. He didn't expect any long range shooting anyways, and it would be much easier then aiming at pencil cups from a distance, as he had been doing. With that, he put his guns down and prepared to sleep for a few hours. He would need to be up fairly early for his plan to work. Otherwise, it would get much more difficult.

Hamter woke up from a ringing from his datapad. Good, he still had an hour before sunrise. Hamter knew from asking the bartender that the main entrance of the town was also the only way into town, so that would be where his targets where coming from. So, he figured why wait for them? He wanted them dead, so don't wait for them to come to you, you are supposed to go to your bounty, not the other way around. So, he got up and made his way to the main gate. As he started walking straight way on the only path out of the city, he started to think of his cover story. Just a visitor to the world. He just wanted to see what their was as he was a traveler who wanted to see the galaxy.

As he continued on, the sun was just coming up, and he saw coming up the road was a large caravan. A couple of hover cars and a few speeder bikes on each side. He walked straight at them with his head down. The caravan slowed down as it approached him and one of the ones on the speeders, guards he presumed, rode up to him and asked who he was. He looked up and said "I am just an explorer my good man. I want to see the galaxy. And right now I am making my way through some of the lesser known planets in the galaxy. May I ask who you and your friends are?"

The guard looked relieved, "Well welcome to our humble little rock. This here are some of the last officials this planet has. The government of this planet has fell into disarray for awhile now and there is little to no government left. However, these officials wish this planet to be great, so they have come here to have a meeting and decide on a new world leader. That way, the planet will have someone to rally behind and this planet will see a new age." Well, that was quite an impressive speech. Would have been heartwarming too if it wasn't for the fact Hamter was here to kill all of them.

With that, Hamter said "Say, do you mind if I were to come back with you? I maybe heading the other way but I would love to ask some questions about your planet. I could even write about it in my journal. You see, I write a journal about my adventures and perhaps I could write about you. Then maybe you would get more visitors to your world." The guard looked over joyed, "Why, yes of course you may. It seems today is our lucky day, as we will soon have the help we need to make our planet great." The guard then showed Hamter over to a nearby car, where the door opened and Hamter could see the official inside. He was what could only be described as a really, old man. But, Hamter got in and closed the door. With that, the caravan kept moving as Hamter sat with the official.

He was in the back of a large hover car. The front had its own section, where the driver sat. Hamter and the official sat in the back where the official looked at Hamter. He studied him for awhile, when the official all of a sudden got a horified look on his face. He said "You aren't a mercenary, I know that, but I can tell. There is something different to you. Who are you? And what do you want?" Hamter just sat back and smiled. He said "Ah, well it seems you are more observant then your guard outside. I buttered him up nice so I could get close to you. And now, the last thing you get to see is what a Bounty Hunter looks like. More rare then a mercenary and much more feared." With that, Hamter pulled out his two pistols and shot the official in the face. The official fell to the ground and Hamter walked to the front of the vehicle where he proceeded to shot through the glass at the driver, as the driver had turned around but couldn't get out since the car was still moving. As the car stopped, Hamter got out and saw the other cars and the bikes where stopped a little ways up. They immediately saw Hamter get out and saw the guns in his hands. The officials and the guards started to run, except Hamter was too fast. He shot one of the guards on one of the bikes. It didn't kill him, but he fell off his bike and Hamter ran up and got on the bike and started to chase the officials and guards.

As the guards and official ran away, Hamter chased them on his speeder. Luckily, the cars couldn't go as fast as the bikes could so Hamter managed to easily catch up to them. He came up and hid behind one of the cars so the guards wouldn't shoot him. He then swerved around to the left and shot three times. BAM BANG BOOM And with that, three more guards fell off their bikes and Hamter only had two more guards to deal with. So, Hamter drove up to the two cars near him one at a time and shot the driver for both cars. Both cars immediately started to slow down till they stopped. Hamter then went after the two remaining cars and two remaining guards. He easily took out the guards again with two well placed shots and again managed to kill the drivers for the cars again. Thus, Hamter had now captured the four remaining officials. As he went around, he shot each official in turn, until there was only one left.

Unlike the others though, this one didn't plead for his life. He merely said "If you wish to ruin this world, then go ahead and kill me. Without me, there can no longer be any government on this planet anymore." When Hamter heard that, he laughed a little, "Oh please, this planet will be fine. In fact, I really like this planet and I am even considering unifying this planet myself." The official then said "If that is the case, then please, if you do unify the planet, go to these coordinates, and there you will find an old abandoned factory, the last functional military factory this planet has left. We were planning on focusing on fixing that factory and then training and equiping cops so that the mercs could be dealt with. At least if you have it then the planet will be safe." With that, Hamter said "It will be safe, but not through your ways. I know how mercs work, and I think they are the best resource you have on this planet. Don't worry, I will make good use of them." And with that, Hamter ended the last officials life, thus finishing the bounty.

With that, Hamter rode the speeder back to the city, where he walked to the large group of mercenaries in town and showed all of them the heads of all the officials. The mercs all looked surprised. They were expecting an easy ambush, but instead their target has already been taken down. So, they told Hamter he should go to the merc HQ in town. That was where the bounty had been put out. So, Hamter went out to the HQ and he went in and presented the heads to those inside. The mercs in there were all impressed, because they assumed this one man was claiming the entire bounty for himself. So, the bounty was exchanged hands, and Hamter was paid his 60,000 credits, as promised. Hamter then went outside, and knew this was only the start to his life on Zonju V. He would make something of himself here, and he would be great.
