BR-8 is a sentient rogue commando droid acting as a Fleet Captain in the League of Autonomous Worlds Spacers Alliance. Manufactured by the Techno Union, the ship he was operating in was hijacked by pirates, and he was sold to a freighter captain. Serving in Kerberos for years, he eventually was trusted to be the second-in-command of the ship. During that time, BR-8 slowly develop sentience for unknown reason. When the captain of Kerberos died, BR-8 inherited the ship along with some of its crew.​
