Bombshell Genius
For the future of Ringovinda StarYards in cruiser-sized bulk freighters, the main cash cow is expected to be the kilometer-long Maximum Battleship, or Exodus-class, which is almost ready for production, and its prototype is currently undertaking flight testing. For some reason vanity projects could also be pursued in parallel. Charzon knew very well that the civilian market for Star Destroyer-sized ships is highly restricted, as compared to even bulk cruisers but Jessica thought that ships up to 2000m in their greatest dimension would be able to perform planetary landings, provided the right number of repulsorlift generators were placed, knowing that the Marcias are there for that purpose. In addition, if Theed Palace Space Vessel Engineering Corps used their own civilian Star Destroyer as part of their major project of going from tier-3 to tier-4, and Silk Holdings, the only other known manufacturer of Star Destroyer-sized civilian ships (the Lucrehulk being discontinued centuries ago), built said Star Destroyer-sized heavy freighter as part of planetary evacuation, Ringovinda StarYards may as well build theirs as well. While Theed Hangar and Silk Holdings have one class of such ships apiece, Ringovinda StarYards may well be the only company to build more than one.
"Before the go-ahead for production is given, we would like to conduct some tests on several systems before we can proceed to the phase of test flights" Charzon told over comm to the consultant that was coming in today to assist with systems testing.
"Soon I will have my vengeance over both Kuat Drive Yards and Theed Palace Space Vessel Engineering Corps" Jessica added.
It would seem that the systems tests Charzon was referring to mostly pertained to the propulsion systems and power generation. Creveld-5s were largely unproven on actual ships; they were supposed to be improvements on the Creveld-4s. This 1500m-long ship is supposed to have three Creveld-5s, and another 2000m-long ship designed from a baseline design stolen from Kuat Drive Yards have four.
