Temporal Existence
An outdoor luxury mall on Coruscant

Shopping in the sky. It might have just been an advertising slogan but it certainly stayed with you. Never before had Sam contemplated the idea that shopping among skyscrapers and silver towers would be, weird? Tython changed all that. Now that she was back in the city again, everything seemed so grand and luxurious. She noticed the lights and glittering stones molded into the concrete stairs. The black iron finish on every railing and lamp post. Even the idea of taking the golden taxis between the Mall's tiered districts seemed alien again. As if every holographic image that danced before her outside of the shops and crystalline windows was just another waking dream.

She sighed from all the splendor. Being a Jedi on a budget was tough. First-world... No. First-Force problems. The casually dressed Jedi wandered over to the railing and looked off into the distance of the massive, and ever-expanding, cityscape. Setting down the three pink bags of clothing she had already bought. Wondering to herself what to go looking for next? Shoes, or bracelets?

The bright red banners fluttered in the summer's breeze as she thoughtfully considered her next move. Such was a silly blondes current dilemma, amongst the wealthiest patrons in the universe.

Credit out the ears! She thought staring blankly at a richie-rich aged phenom throw wads of digital cash at his mistress, a tall black haired humanoid of some mix whose appearance simply screamed pamper me. Had she been walking all day without any fruits of her wasted labor...perhaps. Finding items of her particular needs was tricky if one wanted an unmarked, that is without a serial number, piece of equipment. As she waltzed in between the large megalithic shopping structures she noted all the metal that made up many of the buildings and the rock which interchanged and formed a type of architecture that left a funny feeling in her gut, it all felt so expansive, so grotesquely modern, but this was the price of long lasting success, it had to be top of the line to cater for so many important individuals. She snickered at the notion.

A makeup box stopped her immediately as she stood peering at it, groups of citizens nearly collided with her as she pointed out the one she wanted, feeling like a little thief who made off with a great deal. Another funny feeling toiled in Chani's mind as she looked around, she felt...something...somewh-

"Hey you blondey!" She raced up to [member="Sam Jhovna"] and expressed herself in earnest, "Why do you feel funny-huh?" pointing a finger inquisitively.

Sam turned and was rather surprised. Usually it was men pandering for her attention. Not a woman with wild eyes and an enthusiastic tone. The poor Jedi girl didn't even have a moment to stop and think it over,

"Me? Oh I'm not very funny at all? Are you looking for the comedy club down by Frisko's? I think I saw the taxi going that..."

Then it hit her. This stranger wasn't talking about the comedy club at all,

"Wait? You mean me. As in feeling?" Sam pointed to herself, "What kind of feeling? ...Like an, I want to kiss you feeling? Or an, I feel a quiet whisper in my heart drawing me to you, feeling?"

Dispite [member="CHANI"] 's sudden appearance, Sam was finding this conversation instantly compelling. And it showed.

[member="Sam Jhovna"] 's words made her giggle a bit, "I feel you... in the force." Having recently trained in the arts of the force she only just realized she could in fact sense people, "It's a weird feeling, this is the first time it has happened," She felt fascinated by this encounter and didn't want it to end as acquaintances do.

"How-Who-What" stumbling over words in excitement, a big smile pasted on her face. The backdrop of crowds, monolithic buildings and tents of the finest clothes and materials fell away for the moments Chani engaged in meaningful conversation with this other real force user.

"Where did you learn? I thought there was only one school left at the Neutral Academy... oooh-do you have a lightsaber? What color is it? Oh those clothes you have are beautiful, eeeek-do you have Jedi Robes?" Her sentences stumbled together like a kid at the first day of school, just let out to recess.

[member="CHANI"] 's words made Sam gasp with excitement. Though she composed herself again very well. Touching her chin thoughtfully and listening to her new friend speak.

"My my. What a small world! How fun? Yes, yes indeed. I'm Sam." She extended a hand and a bright smile, "...Sam Jhovna. Fancy meeting you here too. I'm on leave from the Jedi Temple on Tython. Just a stones throw from here. They train Force Users there to help rebuild the galaxy. Today is my vacation, sort of."

She tapped her pink shopping bags with her shoe, "No Jedi robes I'm afraid. But I did just find myself a new bedroom set at Jennifer's Secret and some new pants from False Religion. Hehe. ...And no. No lightsaber today. But it is wonderful you should ask?"

Sam touched a finger to her lips and then pointed to the sky,

"What brings you out here today? Are you going shoe shopping too!? Oh my gosh! Please tell me you are going shoe shopping right now too!?"

"OH wow there are more places with force users..." she watched [member="Sam Jhovna"] extend a hand and was confused by the gesture, having grown up on a slum planet social niceties where not her top education, so she did what any other street urchin would do, slapped her hand and said, "low five" nervously.

She motioned to the sky and Chani looked up, trying hard to discover what in the world she was pointing out, her talk about shoes went through one ear and out the other before she snapped back to the conversation, "Shoes?" looking down at her feet, the remaining bottom half of her sneakers tied together with tape like a makeshift flip-flop, then back up, "Yes! Shoes!"

Obviously new to wealth Chani figured Sam would point out what was important, "Payday, lots and lots of pay, lets go into here." She assumed the fanciest place in sight would be the best bet and entered, immediately astonished to see how many different styles, shapes, sizes, colors where available.

"Your duties at Tython seem super important," picking up a heel and twisting it around in her hand, she decided she didn't like blue, "I only learned what I know by happenstance and a weird talking droid. I never had credits growing up, I only recently came into a ridiculously large fortune." her eyes shifted left and right in a cat like response to her explanation. "So...what shoes do you like best?"

Instantly Sam began to pick up signs of a unique social presentation. [member="CHANI"] escaped all of Sam's normal social categories so she decided to go with 'poor white girl' to start. Naturally this lead Sam to assume a professor's wisdom. If anyone could help anyone pick out shoes? It was Professor of High Fashion, Samanatha Jhovna. It was time to turn this 'poor white girl', into 'omg sex-bomb fashionista'.

"I always start with brand names and price points. See here. Viki Como, Terry Socorro, FEFE; these are all wayyy to expensive. Notice the black tuntun leather and gold-platinum trims. Only royalty or senators buys those ladies shoes."

Sam moved around the shop and continued to point out favorites. Talking and walking as she went,

"Over here are the high price, very sexy shoes. BOMB, Mackie's, Shay Dolare, and Troy. These are great shoes but cost a good deal of money. Everyone loves these shoes. I have last year's models in my own closet. Though only a few. I have to restrain myself."

She skipped around the store. It was fun to go shopping with friends.

"These are the trash shoes. Leather Head, Femenick, DUDE, and Boshko. They look great but are made of cheap plastics and fall apart quickly. I would only buy those for one-night stands at the night club. Something you can spill vodka and wine all over and be fine with throwing them away later. Meh."

She grasped Chani's hands between her own and smiled brightly,

"Which ones are you going to get!? I want them all!?"

Reading off a few brand names she felt like more of a foreigner as [member="Sam Jhovna"] lead her by the hand through this place, many of the shoes served one function, to look attractive, she never had anyone interested in her looks in the past, they solely hired her for other expertise she provided. So she decided on the most pleasing to hear Sam describe, black wrap around BOMB flat heels, she threw off her old pair and slipped them on, scanning her credit code upon a floating droid that happened by, the droid beeped as the transaction cleared and she smiled at her new friend, picking up a pair of Shay Dolares also,

"Wait," she ordered the droid, mimicked the purchasing and handed them over to Sam, "...for pointing all this out, I haven''t been in the core for a while now, at least to pamper myself, take these as a thank you." and left the shoe store, "Is there someplace I can find those robes I was talking about?" pondering her needs, "Or some technology places, I'm seeking the priciest, highest quality..." Chani's shifty eyes returned and she grinned for a fleeting moment, "It's such a nice day."

Oh gods yes.

Sam smiled enthusiastically as she received a new pair of sexy heels. A girl's best friend. It might have been impolite to accept such a gesture so soon, but Sam had always learned to accept gifts with a grin. She loved shoes.

"Robes?"

The blond made a puzzled face as [member="CHANI"] seemed to inquire about three things all at once. While her new friend was most certainly rich, maybe too much so, ...She was also rather peculiar too.

"I can find you a shop for anything your heart desires."

She grasped Chani's hands and jumped up and down. Bubbly and bright. Personal space did not exist between girlfriends. Though she did attempt a little restraint amongst newcomers.

"So tell me... Oh my gosh! I didn't catch your name!?" Sam gasped, "...Silly me. Hehe. And I just saw your credit card too."

The light personality of [member="Sam Jhovna"] made Chani's head swirl from discomfort, excitement and happiness, back on the streets she had no room for any emotion, being able to open up and share meant the world to her and a gift was the least she could do to thank Sam.

She smiled, "Chani," credit card? she recalled the item and the name scribbled across it, Xemantine Algo, some fancy pants representative of the senate she pick pocketed. Were all force users good or bad, are there some in between morals and judgements? This thought jumped back and forth as she noticed the rich and poor alike window shopping or hording all sorts of items. "What brought you to train at the temple?" an honest question, "How is it different from where I trained?"

Then an establishment came into view on the corner, right in between a lingerie shop and a balcony court with a few kiosks of food and trinkets. She lead them towards the balcony instead and looked over, immediately regretting it and jumping back to the ground on all fours before she could collect herself, it felt like a sudden rush of vertigo.

"I have never been this high up. It is exhilarating and insane at the same time." rising to her feet Chani summoned the courage to approach the slim hand rail and probed a finger against the railing, suddenly coming in contact with a thin sheet of glass that seemed at first to be invisible, a safety barrier of some kind, this set her nerves to ease and she was able to enjoy this spectacular view.

"Well? Why don't you tell me a little about your training Ms Chani? ...I suppose the Jedi Temple would be, quite different yes."

Sam followed and watched her companion with some curiousity and mild glee. It was like owning a new puppy. You just didn't know what they would do next.

"Does your school have rules, maybe? What about a Code of conduct or Goals for each student? ...I'm certain would could compare for hours? Hehe."

"I used to be a member of the Neutral Atlas Academy, they taught a certain methodology that is different from most, I had a curious conversation with a talking droid there, I didn't know droids could be considered equals..." She now stared out over the edge, fascinated by the multitude of vehicles whooshing by before growing bored and backtracking past the courtyard to the small modest shop in-between two haughty establishments.

"The droid taught me about the force and trained me in saber forms." The place looked like a gypsy met a force user and married one another, settled down, opened a shop, there was even a senior couple behind a counter Chani looked to [member="Sam Jhovna"] and smiled, "maybe we can find something old in here."

Sam was stunned. Not only by her story but also by the shop they encountered. It was nothing like the mall shopping she was used to. Where were the salesmen, the stripped suits, and high heels. [member="CHANI"] certainly had a taste for the peculiar.

"Fascinating. Droids and saber forms. I had no idea. ...Well. I hail form the Jedi Academy here on Coruscant. It's much more formal and with hundreds of years of traditions to get used to. But the political connections are strong and we travel constantly. So I am enjoying myself. ...It's a good fit, I suppose."

Sam took a moment to browse the shop.

"Just um? ...Just what kind of old are we looking for?"

The blond sounded a bit out of her depth. This was not frivolous shoe shopping I suppose.

"It must be amazing being a part of something so much bigger than yourself, so many pieces to the whole, I have seen organizations, even the Republic, but never have I witnessed such complexity like here on Coruscant, walking through the market I have seen so many species, it's simply astounding they have so many of the same interests."

Chani questioned her own motives for entering this establishment, "perhaps...I was drawn here, do you not feel that?" the force tugged at her and as if on cue, a small dirty yellow triangle illuminated, she picked it up and wondered, "Have you ever seen anything like this?" Looking to [member="Sam Jhovna"] .

Sam leaned closer and bladed her eyes deeply towards the object. Surely it was a Force Artifact of some grand scheme or some-such. Maybe a holocron? Maybe computer component? Or maybe, the soul spirit of a Shard Warrior. Truly, in a galaxy this big; it could have been any number of wonderful trinkets. However, Sam was rather inexperienced in the are of Jedi Lore.

"Well. I suppose it's aura alone is worth buying. I fear that without a Librarian to assist me? I am completely stumped."

Sam shrugged.

"I'm sorry [member=CHANI]. I'm not much help, am I? Hehe. ...Think you can turn it on?"

The blond looked to the shop owners. Perhaps they could offer more.
