Brave New World.

Midvinter
Calder floated across the Great Maw in his fishing boat, only knowing of the land he was looking for from one of the stories in his ancestors tombs. The ride was uneventful, just endless expanses of water so cold even with his fur he could feel a chill. Soon enough however he could see the land that once belonged to his people. Soon enough his ship touched land, and the enormous form of the Icehammer stepped out onto the snowy landscapes.

Immediately he was greeted by a child of the Valkyri, who stared up curiously at the polar bear creature. Calder offered the child a simple nod before speaking, trying his best to not seem threatening. "Which is the way to the spaceport little one?" The child simply lifted an arm, pointing off to the east. Another nod was given and the Beorni set off, hefting his hammer onto his shoulder. There was still a ways to walk.

Through the cold wilderness the giant figure walked, stared at by many more of the Valkyri as he made his way to the main city. Hushed whispers of confusion, and some of fear. He did his best to ignore it, and continued onto the city. The big city came into view, and the man from his small village could help but stop and stare for a moment. He had never seen a place so large before.

Stephanie had been deployed to this world for a diplomatic mission, she was to see if there was need to deploy Jedi protectors on this planet, it did not appear as if they would but she could never be too sure. It was freezing, but that wouldnt stop her she wore her normal armor but she would have added a hooded cloak for this mission, she hated the cold but she would survive. She would move about the city check for signs of trouble, she was finding that no one was moving about she would just find a spot and chill out as the saying went

Midvinter. A cold, desolate world with nothing too significant on it. Xiarr had heard of a supposed species that were sentient bears, but these were likely rumours, or so he thought. Xiarr had landed in the spaceport of the capital and the only city on Midvinter he knew of, Thainbroek. The native Valkyri where stubborn but yet peaceful, and didn't seem to mind any outlanders too much. Xiarr made sure to keep his lightsaber hidden, as he knew the natives didn't have as advanced technology as the rest of the galaxy, and he didn't want to take any risks. Xiarr approached the city entrance and gazed out into the vast and beautiful snowy plains. But as he looked in awe, he saw an unusual shape, he thought he had gone crazy, but he could see a bear...

The Reaper of Won Shasot
Seriously, Dax needed to stop visiting these frigid planets...wrapped in layers of winter gear, the man stepped off the Revenant Dawn looking into the frozen wasteland which surrounded him in every direction. He'd heard of how low the level of technology was on the planet compared to the rest of the galaxy, but even now he was surprised. He wondered how a kyber crystal had ever ended up here.

Dax had heard of a small store, very obscure, that had a small amount of kyber crystals in their stock. How they'd attained them, or their quality, was completely unknown to the man. Still, perhaps Dax would get lucky. Maybe he'd find what he was looking for. But for some odd reason, Dax had a feeling he'd find something completely different on the planet...

The moment of staring soon ended as the wonder finally ceased. He wasn't here as a sightseer, but as a man with a mission. He was here to find a way off the planet and to his Jedi friends. So the large being walked his way into the city with his hammer on his shoulder and his head held high. He easily dwarfed the locals and the visitors with his immense height and bulk, and astonished whispers of the locals who hadn't seen one of his kind ever. He was a walking myth to many.

But he ignored them. Instead, he made his way to the spaceport, searching for anyone that might seem like a spacer to get him to the Jedi.

The Reaper of Won Shasot
"What...the...feth..." the Rogue muttered gazing straight ahead. At the entrance of the icy spaceport stood a creature that was never really meant to be bipedal. And yet there it stood, even toting armor and a hammer whose head was the size of Dax's entire body. Dax reckoned that the bear itself was nearly twice the height of himself. Even more astonishing was the fact that the magnificent creature seemed to radiate Force energy, not unlike any other Forcer. It was a benevolent, calming aura, not the wild or chaotic kind of an untrained sensitive, or the malice of the Sith. The creature itself was a marvel.

Dax on the other hand stood there in his excessive layers of winter gear looking likely a poor dressed Talz. What a laugh he must look like. The man continued to walk forward, his typical ability to not stare at things completely gone at this point. The snow-furred bear was indeed nearly twice his height. A daunting mass of muscle, sinew, and warming fat..."What's your name?" the words reached the Master's own ears and it took him a moment to realize that they were his words. Well, he'd spoken, no way to take 'em back now.

Many eyes were staring at the large form of the bear, but it was one pair that seemed to stand out. Whispers from the spirits trailed into Calder's ears of someone approaching, someone the spirits seemed to favor. He could feel [member="Dax Fyre"] before he could see the man, and it was his voice that alerted him to where he was. The Beaorni turned his head down to the Rogue, gently bowing his head. "I am called Calder Icehammer. What is your name?"

The Reaper of Won Shasot
"Dax, Dax Fyre. Huh, both named after elements aren't we?" the man said in response. The surrealism of talking to a walking bear didn't exactly elude Dax, but for the moment, he was able to ignore it. "Any chance you know where this vendor is? I heard tell of some kyber crystals."

The giant mammal had to be a native of the frozen planet. It seemed like a likely evolution to have the fur and extra stores of fat for living in such an unforgiving environment. Dax would have to survive on the three layers of snow gear he'd donned. He wondered if the bear could even tell that the man was human...

Stephanie would note the activity happening on the city streets and decided that she needed to see what was happening. She would walk over to the two and introduce herself better that then find herself on the receiving end of that hammer "Hello" She would say to the two men, she would analyze the situation and sensing no aggression she would relax slightly

"I cannot say I do, little one. This is my first time outside of my island, and I not only know nothing of this town, but I have never heard of these.. Kyber crystals." There was almost shame in his voice as he spoke to [member="Dax Fyre"] . The first person to actually speak to him, and he could not assist him. But, even then, there was no reason to be down. An outsider, someone not from this planet. "Though, I must ask. How did you get to this planet?" And then, another voice. Were people gaining enough courage to speak to him now that one had? A curious stare was given to [member="Stephanie Brown"] as he nodded to her.

"Ah, hello."

The Reaper of Won Shasot
Dax raised an eyebrow as an oddly dressed girl greeted them "Hey there." he said to her before turning back to the big bear. Interesting that he'd never heard of Kyber crystals before...but I guess if he'd been as isolated as Dax guessed it made sense. "Never mind then." he said, "I came in on my ship. Never been off world before?" From what the man could tell, Midvinter wasn't very technologically advanced. Blast, they were still making swords and axes.

[member="Calder Icehammer"], [member="Stephanie Brown"]

"I have, though not by choice." It was all Calder would say about his trip to the Nether, but the prospect of a ship caused a stir of curiosity for [member="Dax Fyre"] . "I have a favor to ask of you, Dax, and I have nothing I can offer as repayment, but I need to get off world. Is there a chance you could take me?" In truth, there was nothing he could offer in repayment. Nothing that he would expect Dax would want to accept, that is.

The Reaper of Won Shasot
Dax shrugged. He didn't mind an extra passenger as long as the destination wasn't too far out of his way...although he had no clue where he could actually put the giant creature to bed in..."Depends on where you're heading." the Rogue said. So far the man's plans included hunting down information...which could take him fething anywhere in the galaxy...

[member="Calder Icehammer"]

"I believe the planet was called Naboo. A friend I met during my time offworld told me that's where he'd be, and I'd like to see him again." So far so good. He hadn't expected [member="Dax Fyre"] to be so willing to take the giant man across the stars. Was it that easy to travel? Looking around to the natives, they didn't have any technology coming close to space travel, yet for those who did, how easy was it? How far behind was his planet?

The Reaper of Won Shasot
"Naboo huh? Your friend has good taste. Sure, I'll take you. I've gotta get some supplies from there anyway. Thei tea is grade A" the Rogue said to the bear. "Do you mind if I hunt down that shop real quick before we leave?"

[member="Calder Icehammer"]

"I do not see why I would stop you. It is your ship after all." [member="Dax Fyre"] was kind enough to take him aboard his ship, why would Calder choose to delay him of his own goals? And so, he would wait for the man to be done patiently.

The Reaper of Won Shasot
Dax nodded, "Thanks. Feel free to tag along." the Rogue began to walk back out into the feeezing cold of Midvinter. With any luck the shop wouldb't be too difficult to find...and hopefully it'd have a heater.

[member="Calder Icehammer"]

"I might as well accompany you. Standing around waiting might unsettle the population a bit too much." Already he could feel the eyes of the Valkyri on him, as well as some of the other passerby's from the spaceport. Him standing around alone might just prompt a different kind of conversation from the locals, something he didn't want to happen. He was here to simply get offworld, not cause an incident.

With a nod he would signal [member="Dax Fyre"] that he was ready to follow. No reason to keep him up any longer.

The Reaper of Won Shasot
The two made their way through the frigid wind towards a small marketplace and the Master began to sift through each stall, little by little. The crystals. He could feel them. He looked back everyonce in a while to make sure he hadn't lost the towering bear. In either case he could always see him as he towered over everyone. Finally, he found the vendor, two ice blue crystals glistening before him.

[member="Calder Icehammer"]

The bear simply stood behind [member="Dax Fyre"] and looked around at the crystals. The spirits seemed to favor them, and as he watched he could almost feel them dancing. It was a unique feeling to say the least, almost like his hammer. But he remained silent, simply waiting for the Rouge master to finish his shopping. After all, there was nothing he could do.
