On contract with the Empire of the Lost, House Mecetti Nationalized Industries has created a metal coating for ships and vehicles that can be applied like paint. This coating, based on Bandorium, hardens quickly after being applied thanks to an electromorphic catalyst. It remains as a hardened coating to the hull once applied until energized by a particular voltage and frequency of electric current. When this occurs, the coating re-liquifies and sloughs off the hull in innumerable beads of metal. If the vehicle is under hold by a tractor beam, the beam will remain affixed to the paint as the vehicle beneath slips away. If a missile is tracking the vehicle, the envelope of paint may be erroneously tracked instead of the actual vehicle, potentially causing the missile to impact the emerging paint envelope and leaving the vehicle unharmed as it speeds away. In close pursuit, the paint envelope- turning into a metallic mist, may obscure the movements of the source vehicle, allowing it to perform an evasion. House Mecetti hopes that this modification will become widely used on ships of the Empire, creating massive profits due to its volume of application.
