  • Canon: N/A
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Links: Arsenae
  • Military Base Name: Bresheia military academy
  • Classification: Military academy
  • Location: Arsenae
  • Affiliation: Government of Arsenae
  • Population: Sparse 2,500 inhabitants
  • Demographics: 75% students (2,000 in total) 25% staff (teachers, nurses, general staff, guards, etc.)
  • Accessibility: Bresheia military academy is a guarded facility that is only open to non students and faculty on certain occasions. Being situated next to a military base makes direct access very difficult.
  • Description: Bresheia military academy for girls is just what the name implies. The facility was designed to train Arsenian teens between the ages of thirteen and eighteen, and other offworld female teens, in military tactics, drills, physical training and other military related courses. This large structure sits in the mountains of Arsenae, with a river on one side and a waterfall on another. The main section of the building is an octagram resting on a mostly buried square facility. The upper half of the structure is a multi layered platform with a domed roof. Most of the structures interior is buried beneath the ground, this includes dorm rooms, med bays and hangars. The center section of the building beneath the dome, from roof the bottom floor, is training rooms for combat exercises or physical training. Most of the class rooms and cafeterias occupy the outer ring of the facility. Below ground are multiple hidden escape tunnels that lead straight to the neighboring military base. This allows quick exit for students, but also allows quick access for military personnel. To get to the facility, one must take a tram that passes through the military base first. The tram station also serves as a gateway to check student and faculty I.D before admittance.
POINTS OF INTEREST
  • Dormitories: first and second year students sleep in bunk rooms that house up to ten students, five bunk beds in total. The rooms themselves are pretty basic in appearance. Most first and second year bunk rooms are at the bottom floors, along with the shared bathrooms and showers. Third through fifth year students have their own small dorms that house one or two individuals and have their own bathroom and shower. These are located on the floors above where the first and second year students sleep. Third, fourth and fifth year students have a little more free time than their younger comrades, and are therefore given leeway on how they candecorate their dorms.

  • The cafeterias are one of the busiest places in the facility. Feeding two thousand hungry and growing teens is no small task. From sunrise to sunset, both kitchen staff and server droids work to keep everyone fed. There are four cafeterias within the facility, each located on a different level. Students eat in shifts, besides breakfast, depending on grade and class.

  • The center part of the facility is taken up by large combat training rooms, eight in total. These rooms can be remotely controlled to change appearance, size and even simulate weather and temperature conditions. Squads are released into these rooms to test their skills against droid combatants. These droids vary in type, number and difficulty level depending on the students being trained. The outside perimeter of these training rooms are running tracks, beyond that are other training rooms for close quarters combat, firearms and other physical skills.

  • Dozens of classrooms fill the academy, from small rooms that hold only a dozen or two, to lecture halls that can seat hundreds. Each desk has its own computer system hooked directly to the teachers. From there they can view and save notes quicker, bring up miniature holograms of things they're learning about and many other applications that allow for easier learning. Large lecture halls even have holograms of the teachers for students further in the back rows.

  • The med bay takes up a large section of the building closest to the river. A two story setup with recovery and check up rooms occupying the upper floors. The bottom level consists of surgery and other emergency rooms and facilities. The equipment for the med bays is some of the best available, even better than some hospitals. As much as instructors and teachers try to avoid injuries, accidents do happen, and with so many students, accidents do happen.

  • The hangar: This large subterranean section of the building is the lowest level of the structure, taking up almost the entire level. Ships reach the hangar from landing pads in the rear of the academy, which lower down to the hangar. The hangar itself is split into two sections. The first section is where ships are stored that are either privately owned or from the military base. Few ships are allowed to land at the academy, military vessels are common due to shift changes of guards. Non military vessels normally belong to an individual of high government positions and have specialized clearances beforehand. The second half is where vessels used for lessons are stored. These lessons are normally basic for first and second year students, but third year and up learn how to fix the vessels by tearing them apart and rebuilding them.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
"To the heart of victory" -Bresheia military academy motto
School for Arsenian children has always held a small degree of military training, from strategy to combat skills. Most always dealt with only the basics and leaving the rest to the family or military training as an adult. When the Arsenians were abruptly brought onto the galactic stage, their need for education changed as well. The galaxy was a dangerous full of factions and empires that were at near constant war with another. This brought about the need for a better, more educated soldier. This desire brought about the construction of the Bresheia military academy for girls.

Bresheia military academy took years of planning and almost as long to build. Each room was specially designed to maximize training, but physical and mental. State of the art combat training rooms could test the students abilities under pressure, both as a squad or individually. Modernized classrooms made it easier for teachers to teach their students and brought a wider array of subjects. When finished, the academy held the best education on Arsenae outside of a college.

Students that apply to Bresheia military academy have to pass a rigorous exam, a physical portion and a written portion. Those who pass, both on and off world, spend five years at the academy. Starting age for a student is thirteen, while eighteen is the graduating age. Arriving first year students are assigned a squad, who they will live and train with, they are also given a uniform for their daily classes, a training uniform and a formal uniform. First and second year students sleep in the bunk rooms in the lower levels of the facility. Once entering the third year, students choose what they wish to focus their study's on, whether they wish to be an officer, medic, engineer, etc. Third year and higher students are moved into dorms that normally house only two students. Fourth and fifth year students going to be officers are assigned a squad of first or second year students to lead in order to practice their leadership skills. Each grade has their own color, from lowest to highest: blue, green, yellow, orange and red. Colors are on sashes worn around the waste on daily uniforms, while dress uniforms have it on the collar, shoulder and sleeve stripes.
